Music that CAN reach your SOUL , can NEVER be beaten ! It is what MAKES you fell , live & remember life . One of the vary FEW things as a human we CAN make in our vary short lives .
Very simple, because music is all about emotions and understanding the rythm but today's generation is obsessed with digital life and not witnessing real life with people and places. Kids now a days are just mehanical. To learn emotions and reaching new heights one must go out is real world. Digital maniacs cannot give birth to bethoven or Mozart. So they cannot produce good music.

I first heard this song in Tulsa Oklahoma at 14… the year was 1999. I snuck out of the house a lot at this age and had met a couple of cool older goth guys who got me into a *spooky* night at a club… don’t even ask me how or why I was 14 hanging out with men old enough to get into clubs, well hell, why they were hanging out with me, but this song and that night were what made me fall in love with goth culture which then later introduced me to punk and indie… it really opened my eyes to all types of counterculture in general and I am forever thankful for that experience.
A family friend that passed away from AIDS gave me a remix album with this song when I was a kid. This song takes me back, now a days and reminds me of them.
Discovered this song on my dance hits station on my satellite and have been hooked since. Her voice is beautiful and so melodic. Bone chilling melodic to boot.

Fascinated by the Gregorian chant in this. I'm so pleased to have found a translation for the first minute and twenty three seconds of the song- thanks! Is there a name for the particular chant used (other than Gloria)?
This song is fucking eternal ! I was listening to it 15 years ago with such passion, and I am still listening to it with such passion too, sometimes for hours ... I'd love to see some Live version of this one, not some Tiesto or Airscape bad remix :-P
Replying and you are a year older. I'm 60 and the worst pain I experience now is oh sooooo longing for my youth. My beauty, my health, the clean slate before me. So I shut that shit down, turn on the music and feel it and i begin to move.
@@kathymyers7279 Nostalgia is such an intense and inexplicable emotion; beyond one word. This album was created and produced by two of my favorite industrial artists, never expected that they would do this, but it still transports my heart today and shows me why I strive to be a better creator.
Just happened to stumble on this after hearing it on the "Sarah McLachlan" channel on Pandora. Holy cow...what a great song! When I heard the start of the song, I thought it was going to be something by Loreena McKennitt (who is terrific!). But I was glad to find out it was Sarah since it just adds another great song to her work! Just saw her about two weeks ago...great concert!
This is one of those songs that will always remind me of a certain time. I first heard this in the Summer of 2017 about the same time as Hurricane Irma was getting ready to hit us here in Florida. It was a stressful time as we were doing all the storm prep just after I'd started a new teaching job. I was also reading the book Afterlife by Marcus Sakey and it makes me think of that story, too.
Yeah, man. This reminds me of a certain time too. I first heard this in 1997. My friend had bought this album for his sister mistakenly, thinking it was something else. She didn't like it, but we loved it. I remember hearing the remixes at raves years later, super high on ecstasy. This song just makes me mourn for the death of the past. So much was different then. So much the same, but so much different, all the same.
There is something I like to do where I imagine a song being sung to me by God (or heaven, or angels or whatever you believe in) or I am singing it to God. This song works both ways.
Hey, I already have been in love with Delerium since 2013!! Yet, I have been in love with Ms. Sarah Mclachlan ever since 1995, and she and her angelic voice was a perfect addition to this song!!♥♥♥
If it was not for bad times we would never know what good times are about! If it was not for failure we would not know what success is…….. this track holds so much value & during these times when I was going out to clubs late night! I had the most unbelievably beautiful nights & days! This experience made me the man I am today !
I totally agree, the original is FAR better than any remix when it comes to this song. You just can't mess with PERFECTION! I am a huge fan of Delerium, and this album in particular is one of my all time favorites. Not a bad song on it... This is the song that initially sold me the record over 13 years ago....
Like time travel. So tranquil and beautiful! Thank you for the video and to everyone reading comments may your life be beautiful and filled with love and happiness! Love and light from the 🇺🇸! 💜🙏💜
Never heard this version of Silence before, in my opinion it's the best I've heard yet. It was always a song to touch the heart, this goes further and touches the soul. Thank you so much for sharing.
The places this song takes me back to. Some of the best moments of my life. Where prices of me healed in spiritual journeys with MDMA, my closest fiends, glowing lights and cuddles as we talked about the expansion of life and our future dreams. Some of us made it… most of us did not. But this song brings us all back together-if only in my, mind-as I explore the room with my eyes closed as the song takes me right back to that blue velvet couch in apartment 13.
First time I heard this song I was probably 11 or 12 years old in the early 2000s through one of those compilation CDs we could find nearly everywhere back then (it was another time, for sure). Point is: I was hooked on this song for YEARS during my teens and then, for whatever reason, I forgot this song existed (!) and never heard it again until now (thanks RUclips!). I can clearly understand why I loved this song so much during those times... Sounds beautiful to me as it sounded back then. ❤
A wonderful friend who herself was a talented poet and very deep thinking person introduced me to this song several years ago. I wish i could remember the conversation we had about it. She was interesting and had so many insights into this life. All these years later, Im still listening. May she RIP. love you, Cat.
Sarah's vocals in this song have to be one of the greatest in history. Mezmerizing
This was, to my mind, her last great hurrah. Gorgeous song.
it is. I love Allison Moyet, Ann Wilson and Stevie Nicks, however Sarah McLachlan is GAME OVER.
I found this song on a Seven Lions mix and was blown away

I snuck out of the house a lot at this age and had met a couple of cool older goth guys who got me into a *spooky* night at a club… don’t even ask me how or why I was 14 hanging out with men old enough to get into clubs, well hell, why they were hanging out with me, but this song and that night were what made me fall in love with goth culture which then later introduced me to punk and indie… it really opened my eyes to all types of counterculture in general and I am forever thankful for that experience.
So many remixes of this awesome song, and yet I will never get sick of listening to every one of them. Sarah is awesome.
It’s still a beautiful song after all these years.
I loved this in 1997 and I still love it in 2024! Sarah is a Canadian treasure!
Silence
[Male Gregorian Chant in Latin]
Holy...
Hear My Prayer
To you all...
Glory to God in the highest
Glory to God in the highest
To you all flesh will come
[Female Gregorian chant starts]
Peace on earth to all mankind
Peace on earth to all mankind
Peace on earth to all mankind
Peace on earth to all mankind
[Male Gregorian Chant]
Glory to God in the highest...
Glory to God in the highest…
[Sara Mclachlan]
Give me release, witness me
I am outside, give me peace
Heaven holds a sense of wonder, and I wanted to believe
That I’d get caught up when the rage in me subsides
Passion chokes the flower, ‘till she cries no more
Possessing all the beauty, hungry still for more
Heaven holds a sense of wonder, and I wanted to believe
That I’d get caught up when the rage in me subsides
In this white wave I am sinking, in this silence
In this white wave, in this silence, I believe
[Male Gregorian Chant]
Glory to God in the highest...
Glory to God in the highest…
I can’t help this longing comfort me
I can’t hold it all in, if you won’t let me
Heaven holds a sense of wonder, and I wanted to believe
That I’d get caught up when the rage in me subsides
In this white wave I am sinking, in this silence
In this white wave, In this silence, I believe
I have seen you in this white wave you are silent
You are breathing, in this white wave I am free. 🙏🏻
Fascinated by the Gregorian chant in this. I'm so pleased to have found a translation for the first minute and twenty three seconds of the song- thanks! Is there a name for the particular chant used (other than Gloria)?
seriously, you are the fkg VIP bro.
Thank you, this song is even more beautiful with the Latin bits translated.
Love this song ever since the 90's.. brings me right to a relaxed/mediative state 🧘🏼♀️
Still very, very, very much a favorite. I remember when it was first released. And this just makes it better. Ill never not jam this song.
Gorgeous song. Sarah's pipes are simply unreal.
OMG This song goes under your skin - such a great song and an overwhelming performance
Enagmic through the ages!!!
Sarah has a beautiful voice
This song is fucking eternal ! I was listening to it 15 years ago with such passion, and I am still listening to it with such passion too, sometimes for hours ... I'd love to see some Live version of this one, not some Tiesto or Airscape bad remix :-P
+thanouz Totally agree!!! I was just thinking about this, when I first heard this song 15 years ago! :)
+Eva Pap yes :-) so fucking great
+thanouz There is a live version.
+Michael Kimble Where is it ? because i couldn't find it (or a good one, because i know one but the quality is very bad)
I wouldn't mind seeing Sarah do something with Lindsey Stirling even, that would be amazing IMHO.
My god, I miss my younger self.
Tell me about it
Replying and you are a year older.
@@trlebj indeed
Kathy Myers ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a haunting and beautiful song and Sarah's voice makes it heavenly ❤
Just happened to stumble on this after hearing it on the "Sarah McLachlan" channel on Pandora. Holy cow...what a great song! When I heard the start of the song, I thought it was going to be something by Loreena McKennitt (who is terrific!). But I was glad to find out it was Sarah since it just adds another great song to her work! Just saw her about two weeks ago...great concert!
You bet !
Delirium w/o a doubt knew who would be the perfect vocal for Silence. Timeless.
This song has helped me through more emotional times than I care to remember!!
uppanadam74 The same!!!
the way she sings anything, make me know angels are amongst his
This is one of those songs that will always remind me of a certain time.
And here we are in 2019! Love this song 😍 I have loved Sarah since the 90s! 😎🎼❤️
First heard this song in the movie Brokendown Palace and loved it ever since
Still a genius track eleven years down the line , I used to listen to this on repeat .
This reminds of the movie Brokedown Palace. I will never forget that movie. So good!!!
He buscado ésta canción por días, ¡¡¡por fin la encontré!!! Adoro ese canto gregoriano combinado con esa guitarra flamenca es hermosamente etéreo...
Brokedown Palace is my favorite soundtrack, she sing's just like an angel. So pleasant, first thing with coffee.
This is my favorite movie in the world it remind's me of my sister. I would have stayed so you could be free. That's how much I love you.
😭😭😭😭
This song has no age. None, whatsoever. You can play it at any time, anywhere, it will always be like: WOW! What the f@ck is that?!
I dunno it sounds pretty 90s to me, but that is not a bad thing at ALL. Sarah completely makes this song amazing.
Still loving this in 2018......timeless
This is like going to church on whole new level. Simultaneously delicate and powerful. Haunting lead by Sarah M seems born to be. Thank you for this.
The haunting seductive voice of Sarah Mclachlan.....
Of course it's the best. The originals *usually* are.
Consider, that there are different realities, and in some, 'karma' ... is what is necessary, and is not, a 'punishment'. Beautiful!
Such a fundamental song from the time when "New Age" was a thing. Timeless truly.
This is out of this world! One of my favorites!!!!!
Here in 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Stay safe and healthy everyone ♥
The same to you, and enjoy SILENCE by Delerium.
You too
Same x
@burteriksson If that happens,
who will find a cure for
Coronavirus.
Stay safe and enjoy the silence, my friend ❤️
Still one of my favourite songs of ALL time.
Decades later still the best song ever recorded
The places this song takes me back to. Some of the best moments of my life. Where prices of me healed in spiritual journeys with MDMA, my closest fiends, glowing lights and cuddles as we talked about the expansion of life and our future dreams. Some of us made it… most of us did not. But this song brings us all back together-if only in my,
mind-as I explore the room with my eyes closed as the song takes me right back to that blue velvet couch in apartment 13.
This is a special song and music group 😊
Girl first time I heard it my lyrics were "Heaven holds a sense of wonder ,and I wanted to believe that I get calmer when the rage in me subsides"
A wonderful friend who herself was a talented poet and very deep thinking person introduced me to this song several years ago.
I wish i could remember the conversation we had about it. She was interesting and had so many insights into this life. All these years later, Im still listening. May she RIP. love you, Cat.
Yessss! I've been looking for this for 15 years!! 👍💕
Beyond beautiful... love Sarah´s voice.
AHHH!! Another classic that takes me right back to the moment I first heard it long ago...love looooove it...
never gets old does it
This is the background music for my Massage !
Been playing it for months & still love it as much as I did when it came out!
