Did Miles Morales ACTUALLY Have PLOT ARMOUR In Marvels Spider-Man 2??

- Insomniac did a great job at introducing the world to a very likeable Miles Morales in addition to creating one of my favourite adaptations of Peter Parker AKA The OG Webhead.
I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed the Miles Morales game! Sure it wasn't a very long game and it did tread familiar ground that the PS4 Game did, however the gameplay and webswinging was a fine improvement over the mechanics from the PS4 Spider-Man game.
Fast Forward 2023 and Insomniacs Spider-Man 2 releases.... And whilst I certainly have criticisms towards this sequel, an unfortunately thing many people have noticed is that people somehow take 2 things from that game
1. The idea that Peter was nerfed
2. The Concept that Miles had plot armour and surpassed Peter Parker in every way since he's being pushed to be the main Spider-Man of the verse.
We covered the 1st point in a previous video, now its time to give my take on the other theory to see whether or not it holds any weight (it doesn't XD)

I honestly just hate him as Spiderman. Sure I like the movies but the game.. is a different story hi's dialogue just made me want to quit the fucking game like it's so cringy it's not even funny. If he actually had good quips like Peter then I would've completed the game 3 times! Just goes to show how IMPORTANT dialogue is in games.@@TheGamingRift11

I mean I don’t hate the character I just hate how people always say he’s better than peter after that boss fight, like people are really turning on the first Spider-Man that was ever made but like can we just both agree that their both good in their own unique way
He didn't have plot armor he was sidelined
People also keep weirdly saying that Peter in 2 can’t do anything on his own and is always needing Miles to save him, when last I checked during the Lizard, Wraith, Kraven, and Scream boss fights, Peter was able to defeat all of them on his own (granted some of them were when he had the symbiote, but it was still him) and Miles wasn’t there to save him (except for the Kraven fight, but that was more to stop him from making a terrible mistake, and not saving his life).
I never thought Miles had plot armor in this game, so I just think these arguments are just dumb if you do pay attention to the story.
I agree I think people jump to conclusions to quickly thinking stuff like that I'm sorry if I'm wrong about that but I think it's true to me and one of the reasons why some criticize the game just seem pointless to me to for a story some don't pay attention to

Peter didn’t really defeat scream because he had to free her from herself and was almost choked to death at end of fight
@@shayneeason9266 in this case, Peter was able to defeat Scream by freeing MJ from influence, not by beating her to a pulp. Though that’s the way I see it.
@@shayneeason9266Then we can also say Miles didn't beat Symbiote Peter, actually he didn't. Because Peter was about to strike Miles in mid air until Miles strike the bell again.
Then Peter actually defeated symbiote by himself by removing the suit. If Peter didn't want to turn normal again, there is no force stopping Peter Parker to put down Miles Morales.

Y E S! SO many god damn plot points showing that Peter was not nerfed and Miles was not buffed. People are just coping beyond recognition. Seriously Miles got dunked on by Kraven and jabbed with a tranquilizer from the one hunter on the crane. He ain't a Gary Sue. If Miles had to 1v1 Lizard or Kraven, he'd be cooked.

Miles extra Venom & adaptive camouflage abilities we’re actually teased in the first Spider-Man game, it just wasn’t thrown into our faces & spelled out for us in an in game cutscene..

The only issue I had with miles in this game is that he doesn’t really face any consequences for his actions like when he almost got people killed going for Lee. Peter just laughs it off and his revenge quest doesn’t come with any real downsides he just finds Lee beats him and forgives him. I guess this could be because the whole story feels kinda rushed even the symbiote is just treated like a mind hyjack and not your dark emotions showing.

@@TheGamingRift11 in the story everyone addresses the symbiote as if it’s just taking over the person rather than acting as a reflection of their deep thoughts they keep hidden. In fact when Peter for instance tries to apologize they say it wasn’t you when it actually was same with mj.

But how do you defend the Peter Vs Kraven fight?? Where the symbiote constantly urges Peter to kill Kraven yet he holds back the whole fight?
The only reason it came to be that way with Harry was because he achieved perfect symbiosis with the symbiote yet then resisted the influence in the final battle 🤷♂️
Although it’s pretty obvious during the Scream fight that it does bring out the dark side of you as MJ basically “screams” her frustrations at Peter in that fight
Or in Peter Vs Miles he screams his frustrations at life and how the city is viewing him, and his insecurities at being overshadowed by Miles
@@TheGamingRift11 your points are valid but the problem for me is that the story doesn’t acknowledge it, even though we can see hints of it it’s like the game doesn’t want to fully commit so before the characters can talk about it they just say it’s not you.
The characters don’t really come to terms with their inner feelings or try to hash them out they are just ignored for the most part

I like Miles, and im not saying he had plot armor. However, aside from Martin Li I think his part in the story was written poorly.
I guess he was sidelined a lot given how Harry had more of a connection to Peter and MJ (still did have a connection to miles but not nearly to the same extent)
@TheGamingRift11 Except that wasn't written well either. Almost everyone in the game, aside from Rio, has a problem of being nice for the sake of being nice. It worked in the first 2 games because Insomniac was laying down the foundations for these characters in order to build upon them and create character development. However, we don't get any of that. There's no conflict between any of the characters, which in a symbiote storyline is a real problem. I wanted to like the story, but I just dont.
Im not buying a year 2 Spider Man beating a year 9 Symbiote Spider Man. Saying this out loud already sounds dumb
It's almost as if Peter was having an internal battle more than a physical one and didn't actually want to hurt Miles

@@SqwiglyWorm9 Bro needs to focus on getting his life together, there's only so much you can do as a superhero before your personal problems affect you. Peter taking a break doesn't mean that it's out of character, it just means he's finally taking the time to help himself out and heal. Miles can handle things for a while before Peter comes back.
Peter has quit bring Spider-Man several times in comics,Tobey Peter “quit” so it is what Spider-Man would do especially when his protege more then cable of doing the job
