She sounds like an angry cat. Lots of weird energy. Reminds me of the vibe Black Francis of the Pixies made.

It does. I'm bummed anyone else didn't notice. Btw props for listening to new grunge. It's an underrated genre and this band is in it. I hope the lead singer can find herself. She's so good but I don't think she believes in herself much. She's got incredible potential.

Internet logic: if you have a raspy voice or a female fronted band, you are a reincarnation of hole, nirvana, or the pixies. Katie has some of the best / unique vocals I’ve ever heard. They don’t sound like anyone but Dilly Dally, & that makes them truly original.

I mean I'd never compare the vocals to nirvana but the guitar and bass for sure take influence.
Hmm, they got some kind of Cranberries vibe in combination with postrocky/postpunky vibes
But they literally just use all three lol. Nothin unique at all but recycling those 3 bands materials. 90% of toronto bands just imitate other material

Simply amazing.
I got a selfie with her after a show. She looked at it and said “Awww it looks like we’re friends in real life” I thought it sounded a little backhanded but I was also trying not to geek out. Katie is taller than you think. Just something about her energy that disarms me completely. The whole band is godlike imho.
Amazing. But I wish they'd played Doom.

How did I just discover Dilly Dally today? This is so freaking good. I agree with some of the comments below about trying to compare them to other female fronted bands.. It's kind of annoying and insulting. Really unique sound here for sure.

Genuinely impressed at how clean this band sounds live every time (not just in a kexp studio)
I appreciated being introduced to this band by KEXP, I enjoyed them. I kept thinking while I watched this performance, if one were to add some face paint, inverted crosses, and satanic imagery, you would have the makings of an interesting black metal band( the foundation is in place).

Actually i just think the vocals are nice and a bit nostalgic. This, right here, is what i like. Reminds me of alotta those scandinavian indie bands from up north in sweden, back in the day. STABB and their song tired comes to mind.

Is this doom metal?
It sounds more like Black Metal to me, at least for the raspy vocal parts. The instrumental, not trying to offense, but sounds just like any ambiental music I've heard so far, mixed with some post-grunge riffs.

She's definitely been listening to some doom metal/stoner rock/grunge or whatever you want to label it. Its easy to get really into since it's amazing stuff.
