I actually really love Hercules who had a lot of self irony in the show. Xena on the other hand for me have always been kind of meh yet another Mary Sue series.
@@PaulV. I whole heartedly agree that Hercules is the better show. I agree Xena was a bit of a Mary Sue but I found watching Xena was more about the supporting cast. Ares, Joxer, Autolycus, Salmonius.
Loved both shows growing up. I'd say I enjoyed Xena through about season 3, after which some of the more serious episodes made her and Gabrielle less likeable somehow? Their dynamic felt more enjoyable earlier on to me. I don't know, it's been a while. I just remember losing interest after some point where she's like killing gods or something. I was like, I remember her back in season 1 getting taken out of commission from a random arrow in the second or third episode. She was badass but still vulnerable. I remember watching Hercules as a kid. I love the wacky cheesiness of it. Sometimes it could be serious but it didn't need to be. AND for the time had some pretty cool effects for a TV show.

Bruce Campbell was absolutely perfect for this role. I cannot overstate how perfectly he fit into the Xenaverse.
I know they say William Shatner hams up his roles... But Campbell has ham. Albeit a different kind.
Bruce Campbell is perfect in every role he plays
yeah the fact that both Hercules and Xena were created by Sam Rami helps alot lol
This is not the Xenaverse, it is a completely separated show from Xena called Hercules
Technically its the Rami Verse of which they all belonged.
It's so cool that Bruce does all his own stunts, truly a cinematic legend!
And singing!

Bruce Campbell being part of the cast made me love this show even more
Would have been awesome to have Jeffery Donovan and Gabrielle Anwar appear in cameos
Anything with Bruce Campbell turns to gold.
Kevin Sorbo and Bruce Campbell, two of the finest actors to grace the small screen!
Apparently they would go golfing together when the show wasn't filming.
He played such a good thief that he was prepared to steal every scene he was in.
