This is one of the main reasons as to why I pay a little extra to live by myself. Throughout the years of my adult life I've lived by myself, and also with roommates good and bad. But at the end of the day, it's always best to live alone and have your own space. That way you don't have to deal with anyone else's drama, mess, smells, and craziness but your own.

Exactly. Sadly, this exactly how my grandmother behaved when dementia crept in. She thought people were breaking in and stealing from her so she would rearrange stuff and hide her money and jewelry. Then she didn't remember doing THAT so she thought someone broke in AGAIN and stole that stuff. The gasket/rubber footy thing is an excellent example of pure paranoia. Her writing down amounts and dates shows at some point she was aware she was slipping. It's so subtle at first and they're so convincing that it takes a bit for the family to act. Once we moved my grandmother, we found little stashes of valuables everywhere. It'd still sad to think she truly believed she was being repeatedly robbed of all her precious things.

She reminds me of my best friend's mom (back when I was in middle school). She liked me until she would drink an entire box of wine and pass out with her earrings still in. She would wake up and be missing one and blame me. I would be banned from the house until a day or two later when she would find the earring tangled in her pillows or sheets.
She would never apologize. She would just act like nothing had happened. But when she did accuse me of taking her earrings, her reasoning would be that it was just the three of us (her, her daughter, and me) in the home, and she knows her daughter wouldn't take them, so it had to be me. I don't know what she thought I wanted with just one earring each time, especially since I didn't have my ears pierce yet.
A few times, she would accuse me of stealing money. Very rarely. She would think that she put it on the table or in a purse and then when she woke up the next day, it wouldn't be where she thought she left it. I would be blamed and forced to leave. Then I would get a call a few hours later that I was allowed back over because she either found the money elsewhere or remembered that she put it in her lock box.

It's only defamation if she knew it was incorrect accusations and therefore doing it with malicious intent. She 100% believes what she's accusing him of because her mind isn't right (and her memory while impaired is worse). That's why the judge gave her notice that there's "no evidence" of the claims, so _moving forward_ if she makes the claims, she's been told better, and it _is_ proceeding with malicious intent. He then can re-sue for defamation at that point, and win.

My great-grandmother moved in with us when I was eight years old and immediately started causing all kinds of chaos. She owned half a dozen pairs of scissors, misplaced them all, and constantly accused my mother of having stolen them. Finally we'd had enough, and moved her to a senior living facility. When my brother, my dad and I were moving her furniture out of the room she occupied in our house, we found every single pair of scissors that she claimed had been stolen. If she'd had her way, my mother (or 'that dirty black thief' as Great-Grandma called her) would have been put behind bars. Of course, in my great-grandmother's case, it was senility. Some days she seems to be in a bad mood, which we all have time to time. But like someone else had said, she wants straight answers from litigants. It’s her courtroom and she is the one in control. I also feel like the Judge already knows this case is ridiculous by reading the complaints and looking through the evidence beforehand, so that probably contributes to her no nonsense attitude.

I thank God that I’ve never had to rent a room in someone else’s house as opposed to my own apartment, because I can’t even imagine it. To me it’s so unsafe and then you have these types of conflicts that could arise. It’s just too much.

Question??? Anybody can answer why don't people have their proof together before they come to court. The daughter getting pictures flipping instead of having it together. That always makes me mad.

Answer: people who aren’t in the slightest way aware of legalities don’t know or understand that factual evidence/documents are required and within chronological order to help speed up the flow of the case. I’ve always thought, if ur suing someone don’t u think you’d have your ducks im order prior to court? I’ve represented myself(pro se) before and actually one when the other person had an attorney.

I love her daughter, she is so level headed, cool, calm, and collected when trying to speak with the court. She tried to keep her mom calm and on track, and though it didnt work you could really see she had a better head on her shoulders then her mom did!

Come now give her some credit. If a person know some knowledge of another person mental state they will use that to there Advantage and use it very well.
