    Thank you for your help today. None of the other videos I watched told me to put fluid in before I installed the converter. I appreciate it

    Hi Tony,
    Yes you can.
    After you remove the driveshaft and slip yoke, the transmission mounts, unbolt the trans from the motor, drop the transmission, then put in the new torque converter and re-assemble.

  • @MonsterTransmission
    @MonsterTransmission  11 лет назад +2

    Yes it will if there isn’t anything wrong with the transmission. The two do share fluid so only replacing the converter may or may not fix any issues and improve anything. Any piece of debris,contaminate or broken internal parts can get in the valve-body and cause issues.

  • @MonsterTransmission
    @MonsterTransmission  11 лет назад +1

    Yes it is possible that it could be the converter, that is known to happen for Galants. Have you had it serviced recently where they changed the filter? If bolts were over tightened on the filter that might be a cause of your problem as well.

    I own a honda pilot 2017 model, there is some sort of whining /rattling noise from around the torque convertor area, dealer told to replace torque convertor, there is no slipping of gears or anything so far noticed, car is smooth to drive, but fuel economy is turning bad now a days, replaced transmission oil & fuel injectors recently , as there was one DTC for misfire in cylinder 5. All 6 injectors were replaced , no more DTC. But this sound is annoying now, its not from DI pump, they told its from torque convertor, should i replace it at the earliest / should i try flushing the transmission oil twice/ thrice , will it work out / should i go for replacing torque convertor. The previous owner was not maintaining the car well. When i took the car , there was no noise, the second day from cold start, i noticed this sound & took to dealer

    Liked the video very much!
    Hey listen I have a 04 Suzuki XL-7 4X4 and put way too much ATF ,now I have codes for the speed sensor and solenoid E stuck or shorted, not to mention fluid leaking rapidly from the plastic cover on the bell housing.
    Can I fix this transmission or get a new (used) one?
    Thanks, Nestor

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  8 лет назад +1

      +Nestor Lugo Your best bet is to drain the fluid out to its proper level, clear codes and then go from there. If you have any further questions feel free to give our tech support a call at 800-708-0087. Thanks

    I removed my 4L60E and my converter stayed on my flex plate. I reinstalled the same transmission back and just slid the output shaft back into the torque converter and bolted it back on.
    Did I screw something up? Or am I fine? I see people spin their converter on to install. My trans slid back into place and bolted right back up to the back of my motor.
    Everything was how it came from the factory. I just removed it to install my motor in the car. So I assume that’s where it came off, it should go right back to where it came off and be deep enough for the pump right?

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  3 года назад +2

      You always want to Install your converter to the Transmission by Hand to ensure you do not Damage the Pump rotor. If you installed by having converter bolter to flywheel and pressed on the Transmission for install you will have most likely stacked the pump. There are 2 tabs you must line up before installing.

    • @mrmidnight32

      @@MonsterTransmission so am I good then? I’m not sure if “stacking the pump” is a good or bad thing. Sorry lol

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  3 года назад

      Yes unfortunately if it has a stacked pump it would need to come back out for repair and you most likely will have no engagement if this is what happened.

    Thought you would have to put 5 quarts in the converter before you installed it.

  • @MonsterTransmission
    @MonsterTransmission  11 лет назад

    Yes the torque converter could be your problem.

    I'm disabled and my torque converter is going bad on my car. I can't afford to have someone replace it. I also can't do it. What should I do?

    • @MonsterTransmission

      Unfortunately, there's not much else you can do besides replace it.

      Check for power to switch. Check fuses both inside the truck, and under hood fuse panel.
      If further diagnosis is needed give us a call, 800-708-0087.

    should the outside surface of the torque converter hub that goes into the tranny be really smooth?
    mine has a layer of surface rust on some spots from sitting under a carport. also some light pitting.
    should i just use fine sand paper to sand down the parts with the surface rust?
    will the very small pitting affect anything?

      Hello! I would recommend giving our team a call at 800-708-0087 and we can help you get a new torque converter. I would be concerned with changing the factory tolerance/clearance on your converter and causing it to seat to far into the pump.

    I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 automatic transmission and it has a shutter at 1300 rpm only at speeds or around 30 mph and 45mph when I barely give it gas, goes away when I give more gas or if I let off the gas it goes away. It feels like I'm running over bumps like the grooves on the road side of the interstate. The transmission does not ship, you can just feel the truck vibrate ,... Bad torque converter? A Dodge dealer said it was the clutches but the transmission does not slip so I don't see how it could be the clutches.

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  6 лет назад

      It may have a bad dampener in the torque converter. It is also possible a bad injector could cause that.

    • @MonsterTransmission
      @MonsterTransmission  8 лет назад

      +Charles Pace Your best bet would be to go with an overdrive transmission like a 700R4. This will give you the overdrive and allow you to drive the highway speeds you are looking for.
