In this video, I showed up in a Chinese village street, met a few Chinese elders, got into many conversations and encounters with the Chinese locals till a point this elder was shocked whether my hair was real.. Due to the fact that I spoke Chinese, I also got into even more talks with some Chinese where I spoke to them in their language.

@@BBs1monyour answer to shawn's comment makes me think you consider there is one single language for Asia... Not everybody speaks Mandarin Chinese either and people can learn Hausa, Swahili, Igbo and Arabic, quite commun languages in Africa depending on the region they want to go to

The way you are able to connect with all the locals is very impressive. I am born and raised in Australia from Chinese parents who immigrated there and your Chinese is many times better than mine. I’m going to China in October for 2weeks with my parents as they are getting older. If luck permits, we may cross paths.

Language brings ppl together more than anything! See how the gentlemen took photos? The fact that he speaks their native tongue brings a different kind of relationship. They are very friendly. Many Chinese are not so but even he was able to hang with the young boys and they gravitated yo him because they understood him. What a wonderful concept. Wherever we travel if we can speak the tongue it makes a huge impact. I’m proud of this young man. Chinese is not an easy language yo learn! He took the time to learn and he’s in charge now! Wonderful!

I am not Chinese but even I noticed the man had a strong dialect, like how he would pronounce some words i.e. 'Shenzen', compared to how I usually hear it. When you walk around the Chinese community casually, passersby will try to greet you with simple English vocabulary and warmly ask if you need to smoke, because Chinese people have been educated since childhood to treat their guests well😂😂

Many non-Chinese learn Mandarin now, including myself, so it is a common thing. Still, good job to persevere and learn it to be converstional. I have been to Japan, but never China, I would like to go there some day. You also earned a degree there, that is admirable. Keep going, you are doing well.

Hey Fel, in USA we always hear about Uyghur concentration camps and genocide. But in a lot of videos of actual Uyghurs in China, they seem to be living completely normal lives. Can you explain a little about what is truly going on?

The simplest and easiest answer of your question is that you should not believe those lies you have heard.
There are a lot of videoes on YT taken by foreigners from different counties who travelled to different parts of Xinjiang. You can watch some of them to find further answers. And you are even encouraged to go to Xinjiang by yourselves and see things by your own eyes.
The truth is that, as one of 55 Chinese Minorities, instead of being oppressed, Uyghurs have been being taken very good care of by the Chinese government and enjoy many special treatments.
