You shouldn't number the colors arbitrarely. Take the palette the site gave you, sort the colors from darkest to lightest, sort your paints the same way, and apply the numbers to the corresponding positions. Say, that palette put black at 8, so you also had to assign 8 to black, etc.

But how do you get those exact colors the site suggests...if you want it to look like the original?

You have to mix them yourselves like a pro. Not easy if you're not use to it

I was wondering this. Or what kind the craft store has. I don't mind mixing though. But I'm thinking about this for other people. I completed dozens upon dozens of them. I thought why not make some!

Tip: Remember, *EVERY MASTERPIECE goes thru an ugly phase* when a lot of people quit! STICK WITH IT! Finish it and *you will be pleased with the results.*

So have you figured out why the dog you painted near beginning of video using the same technique as with the squinting husky, turned out to look like an actual dog with all parts looking normal, but the 2nd dog looked kind of ..umm...weird. You used lots of colours in both so is there a way to figure how that your painting is not going to be okay before you paint the whole thing?

There’s technically no way to do it perfectly. You could make your pallet and take it with you to the craft store to get ones that match! I know that’s not a great answer but that’s how I would do it
