I have this on the Fenix 7 too, brilliant training for your swing
Cool feature
Nice one buddy
Looking forward to collecting mine. S70!
Let us know how you get on with it Melvyn 👍
Nice bit of kit 👍🏾
Certainly is lloyed 👍
Wow. Thx for the great video. I'm a little unclear on which swing speed/tempo we/I should use? Set it for my actual skill level or what I should be doing to get better?
ie. slow beginner or amatuer med or pro med? Hope that makes sense.
i'm a 14 handicap
Cheers Scotty so it really depends on how you wish to do it. Garmin says start at the slowest until consistent green light in back/down swing and get faster but I found it’s too slow. I would use a swing tempo that you feel comfortable with and get it consistently in the green before changing up a level 👍 hope that makes sense lol
I adjust the tempo speed to what I’m hitting that day. Take a few swings and if the watch shows too slow or too fast, you can adjust the tempo settings slower or faster until you get the right speed setting for you. I have a slow and short backswing so I can’t get green on both sides. You can see what I mean if you try it out on half wedge shots. You’ll find it difficult to get green on both back and down swings
first you should aim for a 3.0 tempo. Then look at your backswing and downswing time, lets say you got 1.00 and 0.33, then choose the setting closest to that. after setting that now you will now which part (back or downsing) is off and you need to work on it. Remember that this is just a guideline, you should look that your swing has rythm and looks well, like a golf swing.
Good luck on your fundraiser
Thanks Colin 👍
Awesome, did not know about that. Btw awesome shirt. Can you Tell me the Brand? 🙏
Think the shirt was just a polo from next so not a golf branded one 👍🏻
Thx man, I will google that print hard. Need to have it 🤞
The S70 shows as one of the few Garmin watches that supports Swing Tempo “in game”. Have you figured out what Swing Tempo in game means and how it differs from Tempo Training?
Tempo training is the activity app to be used for swing training while not using the actual golf app feature.
The Swing Tempo feature is available during golf rounds recorded on the watch. The feature allows users to view the tempo from the shot menu, for shots recorded during the round.
Just got mine today. Played a quick 9. The slope didn’t seem accurate? Have a downhill par 3 and scoped it to be sure but the watch didn’t change the plays like at all? I’ll keep messing with it though.
Would first suggest make sure no software updates are available. Have u got the highest amount of satellite enabled? Check on settings 👍🏻
Can you do the tempo training even after you started a golf game on the watch?
You can’t use tempo training while in a round but you can view the tempo ratio. We have done a short video on this if you google - Garmin s70 how to view swing tempo while playing a round. 👍🏻
Thanks for the response,@@RogueGolfers
I am left handed golfer. Should i have the watch on my right hand? Does it matters?
Yes use in right hand 👍 If you are left handed using left handed clubs (right hand is the lead) so the wrist setting in the User Profile menu needs to be set to "Right". Hope that helps
@@RogueGolfers thank You very much :)
I just migrated from S62 to S70, this tempo info was also shown while playing on course, it was on "last shot". Now on S70 there is no info for this =( It was nice to know the tempo when you hit a bad shot.
Yes you can see this while on course but only as the tempo number. While playing a round with the s70 hit the shot and click menu button, click on measure shot and it will show ur tempo at the bottom eg. 2.7 Will upload a yt short on it 👍
@@RogueGolfers ohh you are right! my bad. thank you!
No worries 👍
That’s weird, why I can’t see this tempo number at my epix2. The features in the menu r the same except the tempo one. :(
Silly question maybe.. Does it work if you don’t hit an actual ball? Because I just tried it doing a practise swing in my garden and it didn’t work
Not a silly question atall @shaboob7604 it only works when you hit a ball, from memory I think it worked aswell with almost golf balls from amazon but not with foam balls 👍🏻
I just tried it and my forward swing is always .29 or . 30. But, by back swing is . 60 to . 63. Why would I want to slow down the back swing? When do that my forward swing lowers too.
The textbook golf swing has a time-ratio of 3:1 (backswing: downswing). With your downswing of .29 or .30 you could try to practice a corresponding backswing of .87 to .90 (1 and a half second)
