Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Your work have inspired me, now, I´m learning sketchup to do my Tiny home design on it.

Loving the updates that Iron Eagle has made. Just wishing their website had a lot more info about the products and options as well as pricing details.

We're encouraging them to update their site, but that type of thing always seems to get delayed... we know something about delays ;D #longesttinyhousebuildever

i want one with the crank facing down because I like to get dirty and roll in the mud when I hookup my trailers! I'm Earthly like that.

Nice resource, can really take a large chunk of the guest work out the design process.
It's just curious why the custom trailer makers aren't adopting any of the design options from the commercial trucking/shipping industry.
There's heavy tonnage low bed trailers that are steerable and place the wheels on the front and rear ends that would eliminate the wheel wells sticking right into the middle of the house and would make them much easier to tow around corners as well.
Along with other options like axle-less systems that can also allow the road clearance to be adjusted for raising or lowering the trailer as needed, though axle-less systems would involve higher costs and much more maintenance concerns but eliminating the wheel well and added towing convenience could well be worth it.
But this is a continually evolving industry, so hopefully we'll see an even greater range of design options in the future...

Really love the hustle guys! My one concern with Iron Eagle is the bumpouts. The angle iron extension bit looks difficult to insulate, and doesn't seem as strong as some of the other designs, considering that is where 90% of the tiny house will rest. Am I mistaken about the PAD series?

If you have a look at some of our more recent Iron Eagle videos, we tackle thermal-bridging and how to insulate over the bumpouts. It's all about putting insulation between the trailer and the inner surfaces of your shell.
As for the side extension strength, if you look through the comments on our Iron Eagle videos, you'll see that I've discussed this numerous times... but suffice to say that if you take the expected weight of the shell of your home, and divide that by the perimeter of the trailer, you'll find that the actual weight bearing down on any given spot is surprisingly low, because it's distributed across quite a lot of linear distance.

Very nice - but I think IE needs to move to square wheel-wells

I need a 14' single axle trailer foundation for a 4200 Lb tiny so it would need the 5000 Lb axle with Electric Brakes. How much would you charge for an Iron Eagle of that size & configuration?

We (Jake & Kiva of Tiny Nest) have a relationship with Iron Eagle, but we are not actually involved with the sale of trailers. We bought one for our own tiny house and were very happy with it, and we have since made many videos and some 3D models of them like you see here.
For more information and sales, we always recommend that you call Iron Eagle directly. We have a link to their website, along with information about the Tiny Nest Discount on this page -> www.tinynestproject.com/werecommend/

How do I select the 30ft trailer to add to blank page with out having all the others in it

Why on earth are the fenders not squared off?

    • @tinynestproject
      @tinynestproject  5 лет назад +1

You can get more insulation between your structure and the fenders when they are not squared. In my opinion, you wouldn't want to rest any structure directly on fenders (which is what I'm assuming you're thinking about) because it would create a thermal bridge. When we boxed around our fenders we built a shell that was a bit bigger than the volume of the fenders and stuffed it with insulation.
