The one that you said was creepy? I think it looks like a close up of an eye. I would have used a carving/grinding tool to make a slot into the flat back and painted the slot black or poured black epoxy into it to make a pupil. That one was awesome looking to me and really would have looked super cool as an eye.

Both you and Miriam are delightful. I have seen all of her and your videos. Unfortunately I made a globe before I saw yours. I decided to make a sphere for my granddaughter. My six-year-old grandson is going to get a pyramid, which if it turns into the disaster of the globe, may be the last resin I ever do.Within the sphere I put swans of different sizes, a Copper Moon that I pounded, six or seven Pegasus flying horses of different sizes, and a couple of Crystals that I made from molds. All were painted bright fun colors that she had asked for. Ok, You may think that this sounds sweet. What it turned out to be was a disaster. Inside the globe, at the very bottom I put pink sand and then on top of that I put glass crystals. When Demolded I found that the sand had not completely been covered by the resin so i had this rough, ragged sand bottom. The top, where there’s the area to dome, was rough and had pieces That needed to be sanded because she’s only four and she would hurt herself on anything that wasn’t smooth... plus she could throw it at her brother, so I had to find a way to put a coaster underneath. So of course I sanded the mess where the sand is, I sanded the area around the middle where the two pieces meet and I sanded the top. My biggest fear was that one of the Pegasus would go belly up because I couldn’t see as it was going into the mold top and that my granddaughter would remark “ why is Pegasus dead grandma“! That didn’t happen. But what did happen is that now I had to coat the globe again with resin. I have coated the globe 11 times because each time there are bubbles or drips or some anomaly that is gross. I am ready to take the globe, open my window throw it out and hope that some very large bird picks it up. I hate the globe. But because all of the little things inside , including a magician, I can’t just start a new. I’ve just had hand surgery and I i’m waiting until my hand heals to use micro mesh with water to sand the whole globe, then use another level of micromesh until I get to the smoothest and then I intend to put some rubbing compound on and sand yet again - all of which I am hoping will keep me from having to put another layer of resin on. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I know that you did this a year ago and I’m not sure you’re gonna get this message but I hope you will because I am completely at a loss to know how to keep more bubbles, drips and messes off the surface. I like the idea of putting some resin in the dome but I’m totally afraid it will drip. Thank you for the delightful English humor and the creativity that you display.

Just found your channel and I’ve been binge watching your videos while I wait for my new house purchase to finish so that I can set up my studio again and get all my resin stuff out of storage. I have that sphere mold and it has been _so_ frustrating to get good results from it. I just can’t get a complete sphere - that top hole is a pain. When the resin shrinks back, I don’t get a complete sphere which is what I’m after. But I like your idea: work with the problem. However, I think I would’ve sanded the sphere flat before doing the magnifying bit so that the edges were perfect. Thanks for doing this. Now: over to Myriam’s channel.

First time resin user, I followed your directions on mixing to minimize bubbles and poured my half silicone sphere mold and should I expect a curing time longer than 24 hours for a baseball sized mold?
Also struggling to find a method to make the top mold the same as the bottom. I’ve poured the resin in both halves separately and used a similar alcohol ink process for both as seen in your video. I thought if I poured them just under the lip of each I could add a smidge more resin along with a small amount of alcohol ink and then put the two halves together to set the final cure.

Thank you for sharing this! That hack that you said to never use, warming the resin, I have seen successfully used to combat resin being too thick because of the cold ambient temperature... only she used hot tap water and soaked the part A and B bottles for about 10 minutes, rather than the extreme of almost boiling... I'm curious if that would extend the pot time of resin that has started to set up.

Whenever I try this technique it just ends up one solid colour even if I use 3 different colours and the white it will end up just one muddy colour...do you have any tips for this? I must admit I just bought cheap Amazon inks because I’m a newbie I didn’t want to waste too much money if I didn’t stick with it... it now I’m hooked 😂
