As a film student, I've always felt that Andrew Garfield is a unique actor, especially after watching his performances in movies like The Social Network and TASM 1 & 2. When I see him on screen, his acting feels so authentic that I forget it's just a performance, maybe it isn't. It's as if he genuinely experiences every emotion he portrays. I knew he had an artistic background, but I wasn't aware of his mother's story until now. Learning about how he dealt with his grief, which is something that never truly goes away, hits very close, because I have lost people too. There are days when I feel like giving up, klm. But what makes me keep on getting up every day is taking care of my dog, my passion for art, music, and movies, as well as my dedication to studying cinema. This video truly made my day, thanks a lot Jsco!
Same. I always knew he was more talented and had more story about himself that I didn't know of. It came to a surprise for me when i found out his mother's passing. And at the same time my mother passed and I kinda needed to hear this from him. I wish I could meet him in person and say how good he was and how proud his mother would be.
I only discovered Andrew Garfield in the last year - I know; where have I been?? - and since then I’ve been making it my business to catch as much of his work as possible. I agree with the commenter that he has a special uniqueness. A great talent, with magnetic presence as well. His output feels fully authentic to me - and so does his personality in interviews, etc. He is uniquely expressive, and unafraid to be so. I greatly admire that trait. It’s courageous. I’ve just finished watching his miniseries UNDER THE BANNER OF HEAVEN. Wow, what a gripping tale, masterfully done by all involved. I completely believed Andrew as a Mormon detective in Utah, husband & dad.

This was the best edited clip from Andrew’s interview. Thanks!
