I like towns like this one; the smell of the wood and the new leather; almost a 'new car' smell. And such a beautiful stream! THIS is the kinda thing I like to see. Honestly, if you wanted to spend a WEEK here, going into stores, I'd like that, too; right now I'm grounded and trying to get back out there...
justin linnane Well that was most of my childhood- 46 states and PR before I was 15! We saw so many trains, boats, cable cars, water-rides and things it was crazy! I won the lottery for a kid.
Then came the 30+ years of work, raising kids, and divorce...so getting back to those places means a lot to me.
I'm TRYING to get back on the road, myself- but a coma four years ago left me with brain damage and no kidneys.
But seeing into these windows gives me joy.
justin linnane Have you seen many of the other companion videos? Everyone has their own journey in mind.
Some cater to the expensive motorhomes and shows- they like the goodies they get to sponsor.
Others stay in Alaska, or relate videos from their jobs...
Others are gosh-darned explorers...looking at whatever they feel like. That's what I plan to do, and the videos I create.
These are kinda like I'm back on the road with mom and dad. A little chance to see everything.
That is a cool town! Something else to add to my bucket list! I love how some of those seats are saddles! And Jax...he is so awesome!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all!

Looks like a successful theme town. I know a few in Missouri where the western look just didn't get it. That looks like a nice place to park with a family.

Eric, Have been watching your vids for a long time and commented on a few of them.. Our family has a cabin on the Chewak River just out of Winthrop. Used to go Deer hunting over there a long time ago. Haven't been to Winthrop in a very long time. I sure have enjoyed watching your journeys in Wash. I do miss it. Eric. If you liked this town you would LOVE Deadwood South Dakota. It is in the Black Hills and you would absolutely love it. Also it is close to Mt Rushmoore. These place are a must see

Winthrop looks amazing. As a European I've never seen anything like that. It's such a uniquely American style. (As far as I know at least. I suppose your neighbors may have something similar in certain areas?)
We always get shown the Hollywood sign, the Golden Gate bridge, the White House, the Statue of Liberty and so on in travel brochures etc. but I couldn't care less about any of that. The expansive nature, the historical stuff, Native Americans, towns like that Winthrop place and so on is much more interesting to me. That's what fascinates me about USA.
Every country has bridges, statues, big impressive houses and so on. Nothing particularly American about any of that, but I can't think of many countries (if any at all) that can match the USA when it comes to different kinds of natural beauty and the "western culture", Native culture etc. Canada is close obviously but they don't have the huge variety in climates like the US does. You won't find many deserts or tropical places in Canada. :P
I stayed up here in South Carolina just for this!

Another nice video Eric. Winthrop is a great place for us locals in the early spring or late fall but the summers are a nightmare. Tourists overrun the place. By the way it would be a good idea to ask some of the locals how to pronounce the names of the rivers and towns. Not to complain too much but we like to hear to correctly since the Met-How river, the Chewauk and Pateros are all native American tribes these places are named after.

I also love the educational ones when Eric talks about areas that he stays at, even if it is read from the historical markers. Maybe he could incorporate it into his vlogs like before or even a secondary channel.

Just an FYI way up ahead there are plenty of beautiful places to park and enjoy the river that flows through Rockport... where thousands of people flock from around the world to see our Eagles nest and raise their young... evening teaching them to scoop large salmon out of the river. Enjoy!

Way to go Eric!! 50,000+ subs. Just keeps going up and up. Video was cool, no museum there for us to see? I guess I will go on my own here in the next two months or wait until next Fall as both Summer and Winter sounds to extreem for my taste.
There's some really good hiking up in the Chelan-Sawtooth and Pasayton wildernesses near there.
