Thank you very much and you are welcome! There is an updated video with some further landing options over the resort, link in the introductory text if you haven’t seen it.😊
Superb pilot’s guide!! Wish I’d seen or had some detailed reference like this before I first went. Thanks for putting this video together. Excellent landings too, with the beach being so busy it’s easy to get wrong target fixation. Bravo
Thank you very much for those kind comments Stephen and I am glad that you enjoyed the video. I felt the same as you, would really have liked something a little more comprehensive first time around as it can be a daunting place for both launching and landing. Hopefully it will help those thinking of going.😊
Frank oh absolutely it will certainly help any pilots who visit, I think a mere verbal site brief doesn’t prepare you for the busy launches or busy landings. But knowing this from your video everyone can be well prepared for happy flights. Well done again.
Just …. WOW !!! Frank , what you have done here is brilliant . Anyone thinking of going to oludeniz has a very clear perspective of what to expect . On behalf of all pilots , thank you and congrats on a great video . Er one thing , see any hang gliders ? Landings will be challenging but as for take off and everything in between , looks epic
Thank you very much for the kind words Jon, much appreciated and I am glad you found the video useful. Hang gliders are sometimes there but not too often. When I have seen them they always choose the beach (unsurprisingly) for landing. The beach between the Blue Lagoon and Oludeniz resort is usually quieter than the rest. I covered beach landings in the original video if you haven't seen it (studio.ruclips.net/user/video6NzpM61z27U/edit). Thanks again :)

Thank you for the kind comments. I really hope that you are able to get back home and fly soon. I have booked again for later this year and I am really looking forward to it.
Excellent Carl! Hope that things settle by then in terms of travel. I will be putting out an update to this video soon; a lot of work has been done over there, particularly at 1900m launches.

Good video. Ive been four times 3 flights a day. If you want. If i was level with tandem pilots they would almost always spiral down and leave big gaps for landing.i never landed on the beach but be prepared to give a little shout to get walkers attentions.
Thanks Alan. Good advice on the shout. I always have a referee’s whistle around my neck for very busy periods, I blow it on my approach to landing. During the air games, martials are on hand to do that for pilots.

Beautiful video. Always want to visit Oludeniz for flying. Could you please share more details; how to reach from one of the main airports (I am from India), where to stay, tentative costs of stay and cab rides to launch sites.
Nearest aiport to Oludeniz is 22 mi from Dalaman Airport (Dalaman, Turkey). You can find bunch of flight from Istanbul to Dalaman Airport almost everytime. And there are lots of options to reach oludeniz from Dalaman Airport such as Bus shuttle or quite cheap rental car options. And when you reach oludeniz you can find lots of options from hostel to 5 star resort for stay. You dont need to worry for rode to launch site cause there are almost 50 paragliding company that you can see everywhere that you look and just say them hello and get yourself one of their minibus with a fair price (apprx. 5$).
Thank you. You already have a response to this question. Hotels are easy to locate on line and the buses up the mountain can be obtained by visiting one of the many companies that provide this service quite cheaply. Many are located along the section of the beach, others are in the resort itself.
Thank you for your feedback Ikhsan, it is appreciated. I was also there for 2017/2018 airgames so we would have enjoyed the same experiences. Sorry you cannot make it this year but hopefully next year to look forward to. :)
@@Frank274 So sorry 2018 I was not in Oludeniz but it was last year 2019 Airgames. Hopefully we shall meet next year Airgames in fact I share your video to my group "Paragliders Malaysia" because your video is so nice and beautiful. You can also see my pictures and videos on my Facebook.
Thank you for sharing. I am a pilot from Oslob Philippines. I would like to solo Paraglide in OLEDENIZ. What month is the best time to go? Is September good? I hope to hear from you soon thank you very much
@Gerry Malixi Hi Gerry - Like most places, you can have bad weather at anytime of the year but in my experience it is usually short lived between May-October. My last video there was in April/May and I only ;lost one day due to poor weather. The months I am most familiar with are September and October. when I have visited over that period it has been predominantly good flying weather but with the odd stormy day thrown in. Hope that helps :))
Australian pilot. I am planning to fly there next year assuming international travel is possible. Looked at many videos and landing options and I always wondered why everyone is obsessed with landing in a crowded small area, to me seems dangerous. Is it not allowed to land on the beach particularly where there are no people? My preference would be to land well away from the tandem pilots and walk.
Hi Christopher Thanks for your comment. The small crowded area that you mention is the designated official landing area and that is why many pilots land there, it is also marshalled at busy times. Many pilots choose to land on the beach in different places because they feel more at ease with that as an alternative. This video focuses on beach landing options which begins at about 34.15, and describes some of the places that you could choose from. I hope that this helps.
@@Frank274 Thanks for your response, so no one is going to give you a hard time for landing on the beach. Did you fly at other coastal locations, such as Gas, Bodrum and if so is it easy to get transport there ?
@@christophermiller353 No, nobody will worry about that you just need to make sure you find some space. Never been to other coastal sites as I only have a certain amount of time a year to visit other countries for flying and so will always choose Oludeniz for Turkey. For somebody like yourself who may well be making an extended trip it may be worth gathering more information. That said, I have heard from pilots that just a few Km to the north of Oludeniz are some great mountain flying sites. You would need your own transport to get to them but probably well worth exploring.
@@Frank274 Thanks for your help, coastal flying is more my thing these days, a number of friends have had some nasty accidents, being 65 I have become more cautious. But not finished yet also hoping to fly south England Dover Cliffs, time is not an issue anymore as I am retired, and still love my flying. This summer will try and fly along the Australian Bight, possible to do 100 plus along the cliffs.
Thank you so much for the time you put into this! It looks like an idealistic spot to PG vacation :) How were costs in USD (if you have any ideas or estimates)? I do have 1 critique though, there's no "360 footage" here, there's 16x9/1080p footage, cropped from 360 footage. We wouldn't take IMAX footage, crop it down, reduce resolution, and still call it "IMAX footage" right? :) Now I'm going to see if you posted any of that 360 footage on your channel so I can experience in my HMD.
Hi Michael, thank you for the comments and feedback. I find the cost of visiting Turkey to be quite a lot less than trips to the central EU countries. The exchange rate for the £ has been good over the past two years but I do no know if that is also true of the $. I mentioned that the 360 footage is not interactive. It is 360 footage reframed to 1080 but is 360 in the sense that during some of the flight scenes and landings I give all round views of the same part of the flight. I have not put up any actual 360 footage as I only started using the camera last October, but it is a good idea and I will add a couple of short clips to my stream. Thanks again :)
Great video, but PLEEEEEASE get yourself a simple bungee cord to help you get into the harness without letting go of the brakes a second after every launch. You're an accident waiting to happen. People already died at Babadag because of similar stupidity.
@Brian Dillon Thanks for the comments Brian but I don't think I have suggested that theses are the best approaches just some ideas. I'm also fairly sure that the 'best' approach will be very subjective and involve other factors such as conditions, how busy it is and pilot experience. There are other approaches that I included in the update: ruclips.net/video/CKOe690q7-k/видео.html BTW, did you notice yourself on 1900 m launch behind my wing at 18.01? :))
