My mom works in a public library and I worked part time jobs there in the past... I have no clue how people even live without that. Libraries are amazing, they are fun, you save money and it's usually a really cool and inspiring place to be at and even work at. Go to libraries people! Just do it! :D
Some towns have libraries that have become daytime homeless shelters , which makes them dangerous for me and my daughters. We have been yelled at by more than one patron that seemed mentally ill. Oh well. There is always the used book store. @@jimmyjones2896

I used to buy books I like to feel I own them, but since there isn't any deadline I've been taking way too much of my sweet time to finish reading. Library is indeed a good place! 📚
Also, another tip: if you really don’t trust yourself to do your own hair, beauty schools offer the same services for a lot cheaper. Yes you’ll have to learn to trust but beauty schools have professionals who look at the students while they’re doing the work so you’re still in good hands !
Thanks for the video! I'm just a teenager not even old enough to have a job so the only way for me is saving the money I get for birthday or as a pocket money. I haven't bought anything for 3 months now (except bubble gumes and ofc present for my sister, but I think that doesnt mind). I am trying to save some money to eventually be able to travel and go to some concerts and stuffs like that. I dont need any things, I just want to experience. I can't wait to get a summer job to finally start making a bit of money!❤️❤️❤️

Great video. I quit using Audible because I was able to get a lot of audio books using the Hoopla and Overdrive apps. All you need is your local library card to be able to access the books online.
If you add the Overdrive or Libby app to your device, you can use your library card to checkout ebooks and audiobooks for free. This has saved me tons!
My tips ❣️ -Look up local food banks - take the bus/bike or split on a lyft when running late - dollar tree has great essentials like toothpaste or cooking supplies

Thanks for this, Aileen! There are absolutely many ways on how to save money but sometimes the hardest thing about doing it is getting started. Saving money will really help us develop a simple and realistic plan to save for our big or small goals in life.
Here are some our our random habits that help my bf and I save money: 1. Visit our parents/family members for a dinner. 9/10 they insist we take home left overs to eat the next day. (bonus meal!) 2. Make a Need/Want list for items in you life. So when we do have extra money during the month we can look at our list to see what we want to spend our money on. 3. Most of our home accessories (towels, bath mats, table cloth, bedding, soap dispenser etc.) are a basic color like grey, black, white, or tan that way when we bring in more colorful items like a bath curtain, decorative pillows, wall art we aren't worried if it matches the basic pieces. 4. Start a Little Free Library or check your neighborhood for them. They have become more popular over the years. Take a book, Share a book. 5. Buy ice at the grocery store rather than getting it at Friendly's, Ben and Jerry's, or a local yogurt place. A 1/2 gallon of ice is WAY cheaper and last MUCH longer than one stop at an ice shop. (We do treat ourselves to those place here and there though) that's just some random habits but overall we do a lot of other random habits since we are saving money towards hopefully buying a home soon. We're ready to invest our money into a house and hopefully stop renting our apartment soon! (Fingers crossed)

I paid off debt using the cash envelope method. I wasn’t super disciplined, but just the awareness of cash leaving my fingers made a difference. But now, I’m setting my credit cards up so that I PREPAY my budgeted items on my cards, and keep a running balance in a notebook. That way I stick to the budget, but I get the cash or miles associated with the card. That helps save money for travel.
If you have a local hairdressing/beauty college near you - often they're looking for people to train their students so you can get cut price beauty treatments. Or sometimes they might even want volunteers so you could potentially get a free massage or facial or haircut.
A easier way to find coupons is through honey, it scans and automatically applies coupons to the order. If there's no coupons, they also give you "honey gold" based on your purchase which can be redeemed. I've been using it for a while and it's been working out pretty well for me! Great video on saving!

Love your vids ! But couldn’t disagree more with doing your own hair ... I’ve had to correct sooooo many DIY hair jobs and charging girls over $500 - $700 in appointments to fix disasters !! I feel so bad but the product and hours going into it cost an arm and a leg for a correction ! For my clients I also hook them up with a toning shampoo between appointments and for vivids I give them the rest of their tube for color ...since they basically paid for it in their service . I also prefer my girls to never do at home hair and when they can’t afford it I’ve let them pay me the week after when they get their check from work ! Though you may be capable of hair knowledge , some people’s minds and coordination don’t work like that and they end up spending more for a correction with irreversible hair damage :( don’t risk it ! Just find a stylist that’s willing to work with your budget ! I love you and I love your vids

With DIY, sometimes the start up cost is a lot but you make your money back later. In the end, it's worth it. For example, when my son was born, I wanted to do cloth diapers. The bundle was $500 but the ones I picked could used up to age 3 (going by size & weight guides) & it was zero waste because the diaper & liners were 100% washable. The average person spends $2,000 per year on diapers, so that was a huge savings amount. Too bad my dumbass ex-husband wouldn't get on board with it. Next time around, I'm totally cloth diapering even if I have to pay for it myself.

Great tips. I follow #1 tip since I get my first debit card, the card is only for emergencies or to buy things I can buy in a physical shop. I use a method (if you want to name this) to avoid buying on impulse, it's to put all the little coins in a piggy bank at the end of the day, I can buy the item when I save up for it, the last time I needed 6 months to save up and finally I thought "I don't need this" and keep the cash. I'm a complete disaster with my hair, I'd not try to cut my hair. I don't mind expend money in a haircut, I only do this once or twice a year, it isn't so much money (10€ each haircut, it's affordable).
I need to make more money to save any. I just got a new job and will finally make an income (I have been a stay at home mom for a few years) Thank you for this advice, you really know your stuff.
There is a website called honey, it has a Google chrome extension and basically what it does is it finds coupon codes for you before you complete check out. Sometimes you do have to look for codes but this makes it a bit easier.
best advice to live by: sit on a purchase for a while, and if you still want it after a given amount of time then buy it. I’ve saved so much by doing this and not impulse buying bc I think I need it now. and you never know your circumstances or style might change in that given time, hence it’ll just become wasteful
I love using my local library - the more we use them, the better their services could get! If they don't have the item in you want, request it and they may purchase it!
Great tips. Very validating video , I already do all of these that are physically available to me! Though the nudge to use my public library is also always welcome. To contribute a tip of my own; community gardens are a great way to socialise and exchange a little time for some nourishing food and learning new skills you can apply at home.
We have multiple savings accounts for multiple purposes such as emergency pet fund, emergency car expenses, emergency medical expenses etc, etc. It's gives us such a big peace of mind!

yesss I love saving money! I have my shopping list and always wait for the best deal. Sometimes something will be on my list for a year or more but that way I always appreciate it and don’t have any remorse. I also make my meal plan around what is on sale! 👌
Some of the best ways I saved money was by going minimal- l used to shop for leisure before at factory outlets thinking I was saving money- and cooking at home- I downloaded this app called mealime which lets u select meals with recipes and then totals up your grocery list so u can do a one off shopping trip for your entire week. I also cut down on my meat intake to 2-3 times a week when previously it was practically everyday.
I usually put atleast $50 in a savings account every pay day and also take out $20 in cash and that's my 'play' money or what I want to spend on for myself. The rest just sits in my account, and it's for important stuff like bills, etc.
This video was great and helpful (and reminded me I need to switch my spotify to the student discount!) but also now I'm tempted to spend more money to get the necklace you have on if I ever find out where to get it aha!
I would like to add one more tip, for saving money, use cash instead of debit cards also, as when you spend with actual cash, it pinches more to spend that much money than if you are spending via electronic means.

Another tip: don't always say yes if a friend or family member want to borrow a money. As a person don't usually buy things or anything I always have money(cash) at my wallet. Then the end of the day I realized I only have little cash left (or nothing).

What helps me save is not getting my hair and nails done much, and trying to eat out only once a week or every other week. And shop thrift stores.

I follow #1 tip since I get my first debit card, the card is only for emergencies or to buy things I can buy in a physical shop.
I use a method (if you want to name this) to avoid buying on impulse, it's to put all the little coins in a piggy bank at the end of the day, I can buy the item when I save up for it, the last time I needed 6 months to save up and finally I thought "I don't need this" and keep the cash.
I'm a complete disaster with my hair, I'd not try to cut my hair. I don't mind expend money in a haircut, I only do this once or twice a year, it isn't so much money (10€ each haircut, it's affordable).
I need to make more money to save any. I just got a new job and will finally make an income (I have been a stay at home mom for a few years) Thank you for this advice, you really know your stuff.

There is a website called honey, it has a Google chrome extension and basically what it does is it finds coupon codes for you before you complete check out. Sometimes you do have to look for codes but this makes it a bit easier.

best advice to live by: sit on a purchase for a while, and if you still want it after a given amount of time then buy it. I’ve saved so much by doing this and not impulse buying bc I think I need it now. and you never know your circumstances or style might change in that given time, hence it’ll just become wasteful

I love using my local library - the more we use them, the better their services could get! If they don't have the item in you want, request it and they may purchase it!
Always always always pack you lunch for work or school! Adds up quickly when you consider that take out lunches cost $5 and up.

To contribute a tip of my own; community gardens are a great way to socialise and exchange a little time for some nourishing food and learning new skills you can apply at home.

yesss I love saving money! I have my shopping list and always wait for the best deal. Sometimes something will be on my list for a year or more but that way I always appreciate it and don’t have any remorse. I also make my meal plan around what is on sale! 👌

Some of the best ways I saved money was by going minimal- l used to shop for leisure before at factory outlets thinking I was saving money- and cooking at home- I downloaded this app called mealime which lets u select meals with recipes and then totals up your grocery list so u can do a one off shopping trip for your entire week. I also cut down on my meat intake to 2-3 times a week when previously it was practically everyday.

I usually put atleast $50 in a savings account every pay day and also take out $20 in cash and that's my 'play' money or what I want to spend on for myself. The rest just sits in my account, and it's for important stuff like bills, etc.

I would like to add one more tip, for saving money, use cash instead of debit cards also, as when you spend with actual cash, it pinches more to spend that much money than if you are spending via electronic means.

Another tip: don't always say yes if a friend or family member want to borrow a money.
As a person don't usually buy things or anything I always have money(cash) at my wallet. Then the end of the day I realized I only have little cash left (or nothing).

Hi, just wanted to comment on bleaching your own hair. And the back isn't a problem if you put a mirror right behind you, either a full length one you can move, or like I have, one on the door, parallel to the bathroom mirror.

A good habit is to put the extra money from a pay raise into paying off debt or savings and living as you were.
