Ultimately, no Sega games ever made it to the Jaguar, but Atari did show interest. Sega sent a list of games available for licensing and, as you'll see in the memos posted below, eventually did approve a few. There was some speculation in the press that Virtua Fighter and Daytona could turn up on the Jag, but these were apparently off the table. Instead, Atari received a catalog of 8- and 16-bit games that also didn't include Sonic or Ecco. The list also notes if royalties would be owed to or need to be negotiated with a third party, usually outside developers, many of which are covered on this site.
I know, right? Goes back decades, that practice. Remember when "Pac-Man" was called "Puck-Man" in Japan? They were worried kids would vandalize the "P" on "Puck-Man". They were probably right. 🤣
Jag definitely had some system architecture issues. It wasn't just because developers were more familiar with the 68000 that they often used it to run games instead of the far more powerful Tom & Jerry chips, the flawed memory controller on Tom could cause program execution to come to a complete halt if you didn't carefully code around the falt. The UART was also quite buggy.

@@blainelocklair That'd be cool if you could emulate that . Maybe Jeff could make a plug-in . I had the add-on and it worked great , just no software for it .
I think it has something to do with the Elgato 4K60 Pro recorder. There's no way that a recorder, designed to take in an HDMI signal, record it, then pass it along to a display, should give a rip what display is connected to it. But it does. Over the four years or so I've been recording with it, those Windows outcomes have always varied a bit depending on the display connected to it. I've used TN, IPS, LED TV, and now ASUS 42" OLED displays. In each of those instances, the recording outcome varied, even if the same PC with the same color settings was connected and recored. Perplexing. Might be time to update/upgrade the recorder.
Because Jaguar games run in 240p and an integer upscale of 3 times gives you 720p (every 1x1 pixel upscales to a 3x3 pixel). Upscaling 240p to 1080p requires a NON-integer upscale of 4.5 times, which creates uneven pixel upscaling (some 1x1 pixels upscale to 4x4 pixels and some 1x1 pixels upscale to 5x5 pixels) and causes shimmering when the screen scrolls.
I don't know. It looks really great though, especially in person on one of those awesome OLED monitors. I use an ASUS 42" OLED for recording, and it's something to behold.
I don't think so, at least not yet. Know what's really cool, though? There are dedicated music albums for the Jag that people have written and put on cartridges. They play in real time on the Jag as dedicated music albums. Stone Age Gamer has at least one of them in their store. Very cool stuff.
