Not unless you have A TON of ambient sound coming in the vocal mics. If the vocalist is using proper etiquette (mic no more than 1" from mouth) and is singing out (don't have to use excessive gain) you shouldn't have a problem. Our vocalists stand directly in front of the drums, and we have no issues using the mentioned compression techniques.

How do you like the other compressors in the wing? Once I put the LA-2A on I haven’t been able to take it off!
I like 1176 more since it’s faster, makes those transient pretty smashed but in a satisfy manner
We haven't messed around with the other ones much yet, but plan to!
