@@Always_Focused That's fax. I started listening to them back in 2020 during pandemic days. First album I happened to listen to was Currents because of New Person Same Mistakes on a Spotify Playlist, then I listened to Innerspeaker realizing that was their introductory. I was so caught off guard in the best way
I think on some level Lonerism conceptually and sonically is meant to represent an entire night’s sleep filled with dreams and vignettes (hence the distinct sections) of a lonely young person. Sun’s Coming Up is the ‘waking up’ from the dream, hence the doldrums-esque opening with the dull vocal delivery, getting ready for school or work, tired, back to the grind, and then Parker slowly lets in the sounds of a breeze and wind, traffic, you’re walking to school or driving, voices in neighborhoods, and the guitar comes in, memories of the dreams you woke up from, callbacks to the album itself. Always thought it was a genius closer. Definitely suggest going back to Innerspeaker and then the self-titled before going forward. Neo-psych itself is filled with greats, Gold Celeste, Drape, Vinyl Williams, Babe Rainbow, Post Animal, King Giz, Lazy Eyes, etc etc, all worth checking out.
The last song is lyrically about Kevin's dad who had passed away from cancer. It then goes into a psychedelic jam while you can hear the sounds of wind and waves crashing on a beach as he gets closer to the water. An interesting choice for an album closer, but it definitely grows on you the more you listen. Great reaction!
I'll never forget walking around my neighborhood and listening to the Soundcloud leak of this album in 2012. It was such an impactful album on music and my life, I'm not sure I'll experience that every again but I certainly hope I do!
you definitely caught the essence of this album he literally said he wanted people to feel the anxiety that he feels on the day to day its an expression of isolation anxiety
this album is one of my favorites of all time. but it took me personally a couple of listened full through to truly like get immersed. like its mesmerizing but at first it was like watching fireworks and after a while it felt like i was the wind getting struck by fireworks with how weird that sounds. Mind Mischief is my favorite song he's made. i'd definitely recommend listening to currents and even the project that came before this
You should definitely check out more Tame Impala! Each album is an evolution of Kevin Parker but he sticks to the psychedelic sound, his newest being more Psychedelic Disco/ Electronic.
Don’t worry about never having heard an album, I listened to Currents for the first time last month and was severely disappointed when I went to share it with my friends only for them to tell me they’ve heard it a long time ago
In keep on lying, Kevin was on a party recording people talking and also beach sounds adding it to the production which i think is amazing and very catchy from this song, I love the entire album. I hope you can keep doing these reactions :3
I would love to see your reactions for all of his albums. Kevin Parker is a musical genius and extremely respected as an artist. If you watch an interview of his, it’s pretty clear he’s very introverted so naturally his fame isn’t to the level of like huge music celebrities but he’s a special kind of artist and he understands music and instruments to the highest level and has made almost all of his music by himself playing everyone instrument himself recording it producing and engineering it the whole deal by himself. He’s influenced so many artists in the last 10 years. That’s real life genius lol and that’s a problem too great musicians aren’t looked at as genius as a great neurosurgeon or something.
Nice! I have this in my Top 15 albums and Tame Impalas best. Ranked favorite songs: 1. Mind Mischief 2. Apocalyptic Dreams 3. Music to Walk Home By I think the back end starts to lose me and it . Discovered Tame Impala when I heard Elephant and then found Lonerism and Innerspeaker at the same time! I haven’t sent your reaction yet for Innerspeaker but Expectations is my favorite!
If you haven’t yet please listen to a Pink Floyd album. Their music evokes the most intense feelings, and their tracks are so sprawling and multi-faceted that they make for very entertaining listening experiences. Wish You Were Here is my personal favorite record currently, but Dark Side of the Moon and Animals are both incredible artistic pieces as well
welcome to the family Briana, you have started a pretty nice spot in terms if the rest of the discog. If you want to dive further into that "harsher" sound you were feeling towards the start of the album i'd definitely do his debut album Innerspeaker next. however, if you wish to continue down the smooth psych-pop river of KP then definitely walk down the Currents path. Either way. Happy to be here and looking forward to the next reactions!
I now see you went the Innerspeaker route! I was lucky enough to experience them in release order as an aussie native myself, Tame Impala were on our radios very early.
I loved this video reaction haha definitely waiting for the Currents one 👀 funny that I’d never analyzed that prank in Keep On Lying Lyrics mmm also loved your hair even if Kevin says it doesn’t ‘matter how long you do your hair it looks the same to everyone’ yours it’s cute xdd salute from Mexico 🫶🏼🇲🇽
for me it feels like “suns coming up” is a great closer song because it deals with loss and that kind of feeling is very reminiscent of loneliness/emptiness which goes really well with the album and its a total tone shift just in the way loss is in life unexpected.
I’ve always thought it was Kevin in his room in a near fetal position with his guitar, playing some riff he wrote up while desperately waiting for a response or just paralyzed by fear of the near future, all alone, overcast sky out the window leaned against the bed just playing because he’s a loner. It’s what he does.
My fave Tame Impala album is his 2020 The Slow Rush. Currents would be my 2nd fave. Those are my 2 go-to Tame Impala albums. I do really like Elephants on this album.
The last song was about his dad dying of cancer. It for me hurts and can see how he's calling out to him and him not answering. Please listen to slow rush and currents. If you didn't know, Tame Impala is only one person, Kevin Parker. No band besides in shows.
Thats where the line "7am, midnight in Dover, suns coming up now, I guess it's over." Comes from. Kevin was on the other side of the world when he heard about his fathers death
Great album reaction but I’ve seen a couple now that doesn’t have the track Led Zepplin listed. I’m from England, so I don’t know if that track wasn’t listed in certain versions but I consider that a great track that really devalues the album without it being present
How come Canada is on the bottom of the map in your background? Randomness or do I need to solve a puzzle? Like up is down, east is north and countries are listed in alphabetical order numerically by population.
That's Antarctica at the bottom, the countries geographically are switched round so Australia seems to be in the west with South America in the East. It might just be cause the camera is inverted
The best album of the 10s decade.
Not even top 20 lmfao
definitely
@@hiokdogiarhahahahaha, it is lmao, bro got the worst taste in music, lmfao

Currents is definitely an album I'd get to. A pretty solid one. And Innerspeaker is great one as well
Innerspeaker is soooo underrated it is not meant to be is such an amazing opener

Endors toi sends me into the stratosphere
That's saying it mildly !!
so glad to see apocalypse dreams getting the credit it deserves
dude so true
Suns coming up is brilliant, really personal song depicting a child losing a father is what makes it hit hard

IM A HUGE TAME FAN AND NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS WTFFFF… that actually makes so much sense with endors toi and apocalypse dreams bruhhhh
The sound at the end is him at one of his favourite beaches.
You should definitely do all his albums, Kevin is easily one of the greatest individual artists of all time
Greatest* lmao he's the only one who has no bad song
He is brilliant and genius ⭐🏆

Great reaction!
I’ve heard from someone on the internet (grain of salt) that the beach is a spot where his father loved to go
This album is breathtaking from start to finish. Most underrated album of its decade
Easily his best album and a masterpiece of the 2010's...glad you enjoyed it!

Nothing Tha Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control, just captivates me everytime I listen to it.
Ngl I kinda use these review videos as an excuse to listen to his music again

Nice review!
I’m trying to stay here and see ur inputs on these songs but I just can’t haha I gotta go bump the whole thing myself now
Lonerims Is Amazing álbum
Kevin Parker sounds like a modern John Lennon to me. I just keep thinking that, as I only started listening to this music recently.
I love your reactions
You should definitely listen to Currents and his most recent album, The Slow Rush. Both are amazing albums
I like the fact you actually react to the music. Low bar I know lol

It would be criminal to not do the other albums

Currents is Psychedelic Synthpop, there's nowhere near enough guitars to call it a rock album
