The metal scream comes originally from what’s called a “vocal fry” and is originally a singing technique. Essentially slowing down your vocal cords to make a “growling” effect. And while Corey Taylor didn’t invent pushing out with the diaphragm this hard to make it into a loud screen, you’ll find metal screamers today that don’t do it as well as Corey was doing back in ‘99 before that shit was even popular to do in metal songs (certain bands like Pantera notwithstanding).
Not to mention I have a dislocated knee and in pt from simply dancing to pyscho social and I’ve been treating my knee just to get to get torn up at the show this Wednesday 😁
There is no band that can take a group as large as they are and bring so many different instruments into the mix and make it work like they do time and time again! Truly Epic band, great dudes, and high energy entertainers!
I use to play this CD loud as fuck at work when this first came out, I was barely out of high school, It was a Round Table Pizza and I would be in the back Rolling dough with this blasting so loud even the customers could here it in the dining area 🤘🤘
This song changed my life when I heard it in 2000. I had never heard metal in my life and my mate came to school and said I had to buy this album. I bought it that night and after being thoroughly confused by the intro heard this and I never looked back.
I miss old school Slipknot. The new stuff is great, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel the same way about new Slipknot the way I did with Slipknot prior to 2018

"HERE COMES THE PAIN!" - No lie this entire album is pure intensity. This is their first song on their first album, and this energy is carried through out the rest of the album start to finish. The best way i can describe the album is "exhausting". If you listen to it start to finish, non-stop you will be mentally, and physically exhausted by the time it ends. I haven't tried to listen to this while working out but that sounds even more exhausting. Not so much emotionally unless you can relate to the songs personally. You are either talking about the vocal fry? or the false chord vocals? I can never remember which one is which.
You need to see they performance in knotfest (if i not wrong) in 2012. Dude, the energy in that show is freaking awesome! SIC is already a good music and this show they killed 🔥🔥
