Willkommen! Join me for the largest flea market in Southwest Germany! It's full of vintage and antique treasures, with awesome deals. Villeroy & Boch dish patterns span the decades. Huge collections of salt glazed stoneware, including one that is worth a mint. See the antique Gothic Revival stoneware I find for 20 Euros. It's from the late 1800's Prussia, with an interesting history. The backstamp tells all! Limited edition collections are replicas of a vanity set made for King Ludwig II, builder of the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Cut-to-clear is available in a rainbow of colors. Fine French antiques are steals just waiting for a new home. Lovely linens are offered at excellent prices. Great source for gifts and home decor here. Walk the flea market with me and shop the tables. It's a don't miss!

My mom passed away and I'm enjoying so many nice things she had brought with her when she moved here from Germany. Memories for sure. My aunt's too funny they all moved to the states in the late 50's their homes had so many German things you felt like you were entering a home in Germany...I miss them all ❤ Tante Hannelore and Tante Annalisa.
Being around all their beautiful things does bring us comfort. They would be honored knowing you are enjoying their treasured items brought from the homeland. Are many of these Mid-Century or antiques? Can imagine their china teacups and beautiful linens in a hope chest as they anticipated marriage. May their memory be eternal.
@@LadyMaryBeth lots of midcentury you're right which I really like.
Thank you. It was fun going to a flea market in Germany with you.
Wish I could be there for the next one. German flea markets are a cut above the rest.
Thank you the walk down memory lane. I do miss shopping at German flea markets. It was so much fun in the late 1980’s when we were stationed at Geilenkirchen.
Hope you can return to Germany someday. It's changed since the 1980's, especially Berlin. The flea markets are better than ever.
Can't wait to see what treasures you will introduce us too.
I should have bought more. Friends are wishing I had shopped for them, but didn't realize they had special wishes. There is always next time. Thanks for watching!
LOVED the highly carved buffet.
Such a deal for 600 Euros. Would go for a few thousand in the U.S.
I have the large rhine green glasses. I loved watching you shop in Germany, German brats I buy at Aldi. So nostalgic for me.
Yes, have heard that Aldi has great Bratwurst. Missing Germany already and wishing to go back.
I like that blue clock. Just before the linens.
Fun to see your husband enjoying the day with you!
Thanks! It was our second day in Germany and wish we could go right back.
I loved every bit of this video. The pottery and linens where beautiful! Please show us more.
Stay tuned for a fantastic consignment store in Germany. 🇩🇪
Nice! Looks like a beautiful day, too. Your little schnapps glasses are adorable! 😊💖
You are the Queen of bargains Lady Mary Beth. I would be like a kid in a candy store to be at such a wonderful flea market. Thank you for the tag along.
Wish I had purchased the cream and gold china set. Everyone wants it now. The seller offered it for 30 Euros. Thanks for watching!
Rhine wine glasses brought back memories of wine tasting on the Rhines. My dream is someday to travel Germany/France/Italy/Amsterdam again to shop the markets. Blessings
Ian, you could travel the Chunnel and shop this flea market. I know it's still far, but would be fun.
Ohhh all that blue and white...I would need a suitcase to come home......Got my love of blue and white from my parents, they are Dutch. Thank you for taking us along it was lovely to see so many beautiful pieces.
I live in Stuttgart Germany now for about 3-5 years. I’ll be going to this. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your trip to the flea market! That was wonderful!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just recently found you!! I don’t know what took me so long! I love your channel and have learned so much. You are a breath of fresh air!
Thank you so much! Great to hear from you! I appreciate you watching and subscribing. Next up is a German consignment shop. More treasures await!
Gail here ! I bought a teapot very much like that one at the beginning of your video in England in 1971 when we were stationed in England from a catalog .. It was green and blue but the same style .
Neat! That would be towards the end of Mid-Century style. It's popular again with younger generations.
I loved watching you flea-marketing in Germany. I’m interested to know more about covered punch bowls. The cups seem larger than our traditional punch cups. What beverage is served from a German punch bowl. The earthen bowls are very interesting. So happy that you had fun to share with us viewers and that you could bring a few treasures back to Texas.
German punch bowls are used mostly for warm alcoholic beverages. Feuerzangenbowle is a flaming German rum punch that is popular in the winter months. Definitely not an American party punch served at showers and weddings.
Wei ghetes enin ? Amazing large collections....we couldn't make it past the brats ! Oh my that V&B platter Awesome ! The vase is superb ! The hutch oh boy ! Danke Freund das Wunderbar mkt ! ☕☕🍋💕Guten tag ! Christoph !
Beautiful Delft, I love it. Thank you for sharing.
I could not resist the little Schnapps glasses. Thanks for watching!
What a wonderful day at the fleamarket!
The decor with the chicken you'd use for breakfast is calles "Hahn und Henne" from Zeller Keramik. It used to be one of the, if not t h e, most popular decor for children's dishes. My guess would be one out two kids born before 1970 had it's first plate and mug with this decor (I did, I'm German) I's still produced today and is a classic.
The "trios" might date back to the 20ies or 30ies and can be very valuable. You'd reckon the style, the forms differ. They're having quite a revival and are used also as mix & match by vintage lovers.
Thank you for taking us along!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful time at this awesome flea market with us !!! It was very exciting, everything was so beautifully displayed and your choices were beautiful. Looking forward to the next video ❤
Thanks for coming along with me for the flea market finds. Always lots of treasures to discover.
That was so interesting - what fabulous items! Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh my goodness what a wonderful market. So many familiar things from living on the Aachen area as a child when my father was stationed there in R.A.F. that was in the late 1950's early 1960's. My father had a lot of the beer steins and being close to the Dutch boarder my mother had so much delft pieces, my mother has since past away and I have had her delft shipped to me in the USA from England 🇬🇧. I really envied your walk around the market. Once again I'd like to thank you for the background on my smcs porcelain tea set I have the sugar bowl as well. European and English china always comes in sets of 6 cups and saucers doesn't it. Have a great week and look forward to the next video.
I miss Germany! This video reminded me of fun times I had in Würzburg where my father stationed (late 1970's). I feel in love West German, Scheurich Keramik. I am still collecting them.
Germany is calling you for a visit! Bet you would be amazed at all the changes. I will research the Scheurich Keramik you mention.
@@LadyMaryBeth Hi Lady Mary Beth, I was there in 2001, couldn't have fun due to 911 during my visit. I was so worried about getting back home. I did make it home - 2 weeks delayed. Scheurich pottery is popular with Mid-century Modern collectors.
U know my dad did choose everything big! Like the German stone manuf 😊
Great finds lovely items🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️👍🇨🇦❤️
Thanks for taking us along. It's interesting to see how different and similar flea markets around the world are. Quite fun. 😊
Prices were so good that I did not bargain. This is one of the best in Germany. Thanks for watching!
Such fun! Love the Delft vase you picked up! Wonderful way to spend an afternoon!
It was a great day! Stopped at a consignment shop on the way back to the village. That one is up next.
Thanks lady Mary Beth and family another great watch Ian Birmingham England 🇬🇧👍❤️x
Wow. I wish I could shop at that market! Thanks for taking me along.
Thanks for watching!
Love that stoneware! Those stalls are full of items that remind me so much of summers staying with a German family for summer vacations starting from 1966!! Oh, that blue and white rabbit! My sister lived in Germany for many years and had so much German tabletop! And the spirit glasses! X
Glad you have fond memories of Germany. Are you able to speak some German after many vacations there?
@@LadyMaryBeth haha! Just a few words. I was very young and the deal was that we were there to give the German kids English language practice. We didn’t actually have German lessons at school. I speak a bit more French but even that is evaporating after years of no use. I understand more than I speak. X
All looks so amazing, lovely treasures, thanks for sharing.
So many beautiful items. You are a really good tour guide. 😎
Wow, I have never seen some of those pieces! I would be shipping some of those beauties back home😊
Now, I need to go back and watch for the blue clock.
The video is Wundabar!! You look like you were having a fantastic time, showing us all those wonderful finds!! Glad to see you had your shopping buddy with you❤❤ it looks like you found some fantastic things to take to your TX home❤️
The best flea market video i have seen. Excellent camera work, no shakes ,not fast, so enjoyable. Also actually buying items , was a treat. Thank you.
We appreciate your comment on production quality. Thanks for watching! 😘
HI - I'm not too far from Homburg - wouldn't it be fun if we ran into one another!
Hope to see you at a future flea market!
I really enjoyed watching this video. Thank you for sharing. 👍🇺🇸🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching. 😘
So enjoy the tours. Had to laugh at the "stowaway". Thank you for the fun afternoon.
I found myself wishing I had bought a few more treasures. Thanks for watching!
Loved this video. Thank you for taking us along. I think I would have bought so many items.
Glad you enjoyed! I would have bought more if not busy filming. There is always a future flea market.
Hello from Arkansas! I’ll be in Germany this Saturday to visit my daughter. I can’t wait to go to all the thrift stores and markets you have gave featured. If I see you I will say hello! Thanks!
Diane
Excited for you to be in Germany! ❤️🇩🇪 We are back in Texas and missing Deutschland. Enjoy your time there and happy thrifting! Next up is an awesome consignment shop in St. Ingbert. Will you be near the Saarland?
@@LadyMaryBeth yes. She works on base near Bernkastel-Kues and told me to take her car and go…I’ll be there until September 1st
Love the flea market, lots of nice items 😊❤
Thank you! 🤗 Wish I could go back and get the gold and cream china. Everyone is asking for it.
Wonderful fleamarket trip! Did you say Homburg? Well, then you are not far from where I live. I live in Gießen.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I always enjoy watching you , your videos are so educational. Viele grüße aus Gießen.
Yes, it's in Homburg, Saarland. Looks like about 2 hours from your town. Worth a visit!
I have just returned from a thrifting, market trip to London and the Cotswolds. I also went to Rome and Florence with the same person, in May to thrift and flea market shop. She has a RUclips channel as well, Laura Caldwell with Left Coast Revivals. She and her husband have joined with Trova Trips, and host these trips. My husband and I are joining them in April to go to Japan- Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. Most of this trip is site seeing and food experiences with some vintage and antique markets thrown in as well. Seeing all the knowledge you have here in Germany, makes me think you two could get together, and do a German trip! Anyway, I just wanted to share our new experiences. I live in the Dallas area and have been watching you for awhile now. I went to Spring High school, and lived for 8 years on 1960. I still have family in the Spring and Montgomery area. Thanks for all the information you share!
Love hearing from you! Wonderful that you joined Laura Caldwell in England. I follow her channel, as we have many of the same viewers. Would love to partner with her on a Germany trip. Maybe suggest to her. Neat that you grew up in Spring. The area is growing fast.
Thank you so much for bringing us along. There are two items i will be looking for, the tea pot warmer and the rectangle bread holder.. thank you for sharing your knowledge.. lovely.. thank you Lady Mary Beth!🎉
I love antique treasres. Thanks fir this beatiful video.
Thanks for joining me for flea market finds.
Such beautiful pieces! Their flea market was classy and clean. I didn't see any junk like you see in the US. Thanks for the field trip!
The human also junk
Fabulous tour! This should be shared and enjoyed even more. ❤
So many beautiful pieces, and the little shot glasses you bought, love it🥰
Way to represent with your pretty Texas shaped Agate slice necklace.😊
Proud Texan! It's made from broken china by China Baroque. One of my favorite TX pendants from them. It was my good luck charm to meet a fellow Texan.
Your husband looks so sweet! How wonderful that he goes shopping with you.
Do most people in Germany speak English, or do you typically always speak German?
Christoph helps me film when we are in Germany. I always ask nicely. 😉 The younger generation understands some English since they learn it in school. We only speak German while there.
Sehr schon, danke 💙💙💙💙💙💙❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loveeeeeeeee watching yr videos from Germany seeing all the beautiful things
Thanks for watching. Liebe Grüße aus Texas! 😘
I've been looking for a blue and white bunny, I would have loved to purchase it. Those Delft pieces are gorgeous I love blue and white.
I should have bought the bunny for Easter decor. Thanks for watching!
So many beautiful pieces
I could have bought more, but was focused on filming. Next time!
Oh LMB I would need a week and a large lorry to purchase everything I loved in this trip, absolutely fabulous and also it’s one that I could possibly visit as it’s almost on my doorstep, I watch all your videos and enjoy them all, it’s a small world isn’t it, fancy bumping into fellow Texan’s. Looking forward to your next instalment, as always greeting from UK.
Magnificent antique market!!
Will time my next trip to shop the Homburg flea market.
Watched through twice. So jealous! We missed the fleamarket when we went to Germany in May. You got a beautiful Delpht vase for a steal, thanks for taking us along
You can surely plan for a future flea market. Homburg is always first of the month. There is a Keramikmarkt of all Villeroy & Boch each July in Wadgassen. We flew home a week too early to make it.
Dessert Rose!! My fav
Beautiful, thanks for sharing. There were some amazing things there. Be safe and have a blessed day. 👍
Thank you! You too! I find myself wishing I had bought a few more treasures. There is always next time.
The marble top ''bedside tables'' you showed are actually cabinets used to store the chamber pots when not in use.
This is interesting, because we have these in both our homes. Never thought about the storage area of these side tables. Makes sense now. Have seen one that had a partial porcelain part or base inside. Thanks for your insight into these nightstands.
Just loved the salt glaze pottery vase . Very difficult to find in New Zealand!!! TFS such a delightful tour of the market
Seems to be an abundance at German flea markets and thrift stores. We have a nice collection at our home in Germany. Will feature on our Facebook group page: Lady Mary Beth's Table. I invite you to join us there. We have lots of fun talking tabletop and thrifting.
How fun! And how cool to meet a fellow Texan! My China inherited from my grandmother is Mitterteich. I bet I could find tons there!!
Was truly a lovely surprise to meet a fellow Texan. Definitely saw lots of Mitterteich china.
My husband and I traveled to Germany in 84/85 the exchange rate from dollar to the mark was around 3 to 1.... that's when we purchased clear to cut tall wine glasses , carved wood statue, and cuckoo clocks.. good memories! I love your videos when your in Germany!
Have heard about those amazing exchange rates. When I lived in Heidelberg, it was $1 to DM 1,29. My parents spent a fortune on my expenses. When they switched to Euros, some prices doubled overnight. 💶 Hummel figurines cost a fortune suddenly. These days, your best bargains are at thrift stores and flea markets. Next video of a German consignment shop launches today. 🇩🇪
I want more Art!!!!¡
Will be on the lookout!
Wow ❤️❤️❤️❤️Just found your channel and I’m in love with your finds and the tour ! My decor is very European and I love French , English and German too ! Love it all ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Soooo enjoy you explaining the pieces as I am especially fond of Villory and Boch and Delf blue and white ! That sideboard hutch was to die for 😲The price ! Oh my heavens 😀❤️❤️❤️❤️I would have ran to it and bought it and gave it a hug 😀🤣🤣🤣🤣 sooo looking forward to watching more of your content ! Would love to see your Homes ! 👋Cindy
Great to hear from you! Yes, the antique hutch was a steal at €600.- Hope you can make it to a German flea market someday. Have featured a Christmas at home segment in Texas and a home tour in Germany. Look at previous episodes.
It is wonderful to see you going to a flohmarkt here in Germany. 👏😊
I speak English, I am learning to speak German and I live in Germany. 😂
It is so nice to hear you speak German.
I must say, I have bought the most amazing things at fleamarkets in Germany. Or village fleamarkets.
You are right.
You must take your own strong shopping bags, newspaper or bubble wrap, comfortable shoes and cash. 😂
I carry this all with me and appropriate clothes for the weather.
I have bought lots at the markets. I wrap my goodies well with newspaper I carry, so that I don't smash my goodies while I'm lugging my bags around the market. 😂
I also generally don't bargain with the sellers. Some people do, I don't. Fleamarkets in Germany are not those type of markets where you start to haggle.
If a person offers me a lower price out of their own free will, and I want the item I say thank you.
Some people get very upset when one tries to haggle.
I have seen and heard sellers get very upset.
I also think it is how one approaches a seller. They get tired of people trying to make them sell the goods cheaper when the prices are so fair in general. So much work goes into selling at a fleamarket. Sellers have to see many items first to pay for their costs before they even make a profit.
One must ask politely if the seller is open to negotiation, let's say if you have bought many items at a stand. Sellers don't like people grabbing things and demanding to pay less.
Being polite at all times goes a long way in Germany.
Sometimes people give me their price and they can see I like the item but I have not decided to buy it.
Sometimes I am simply trying to find out how much something costs because nothing is priced, or I might think it is a fair price, but I just don't have enough money to buy the item.
People do ask "what would you like to pay"?
I find this tricky.
I might only want to pay 1 Euro or 3 Euros when they were asking 12 Euros for a vase. I don't like to offend people.
I generally don't fall for that trick.
The seller must tell me what their best price is. If they want 12 but are willing to go down to 8 euros, they must tell me. Then I can check my budget for the day and see if I can afford it.
It is all about being fair both ways.
Oh yes, and have lots of cash and small denominations of notes and coins. You never know what bargains you might find on the day, and not having enough cash with you will ruin your day.
I have not seen ATMs at the fleamarkets I go to. And I go to many.
And try to get to the fleamarkets early! Every market I go to they start packing from 13h30 /14h00, even if the market is advertised to stay open until around 4 or 5pm.
Most sellers really do sell things reasonably and one can also find bargains.
I can quickly tell if a seller is expensive or fair. It is all relative to your budget.
I find being polite and friendly goes a long way with German people. They respond well when you greet them at their tables.
Germany have great fleamarkets during the summer months.
I have also gone to flops.
One can sometimes pick up items people are gifting for free which is called Zu Verschenken. I also always go out of my way to thank a seller who is giving away free goodies. I feel good and they feel good that someone appreciated the gift. I am truly grateful. Everything I have been gifted I use and is treasured. Thank you to the lovely German people who have this tradition. That is something I love about German people.
To everyone coming over to shop at fleamarkets in Germany, enjoy. 😁 The Bratwurst is yum, currywurst und Pommes is yum, with a nice beer if you are not driving! Thanks for another great video. 🌼🌿🙏
You have great insight to flea market shopping. This time of year, there is one most every Sunday. I missed the yearly Porzellan Flohmarkt in Wadgassen. It’s mostly Villeroy & Boch and dreamy. Liebe Grüße aus Texas!
Das ist wer gut Mkt Ja ! Guten Nacht !
Texas!! That’s where the group was from! 😊
Did anyone see the people walking backwards left hand corner 🤔 😳 21:38😮 Great flea market.
That was so much fun to go along with you! I love the Delft pattern. I have many pieces that my mother-in-law gave to me years ago. I hate to say this, but the video was out of focus. I hope that isn't my computer. Anyway, I watched it anyway because I love your channel. Thank you again for sharing.
The video is definitely in focus. Maybe it's your monitor. I appreciate you watching! Glad you have a Delft collection.
I wish to be there with you nice piece of art
Hi lady Mary Beth lv Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️
Ann, thanks for coming along to the Homburg, Germany flea market. Always great hearing from you. Take care!
Hello from Québec!!! I always enjoy your videos and in awe of your extent knowledge which makes me appreciate even more my finds! In your last video you mentioned you were to talk about Kaiser vases in more details … will it be in the next one? So looking forward to learn more since I found one in perfect condition for only a few Canadian dollars! 😊 Merci 🙏
Yes, we will talk about Kaiser Porzellan in the next video. So much more I wanted to share, but you will hear some historical tidbits. Could have talked all day about Kaiser. Such an interesting history.
@@LadyMaryBeth Greatly appreciated! Merci beaucoup 😊
OMG I would have lost it there. So many beautiful items here.
28:22 some dishes from Xenia. I have couple of them and love to use them on my balcony. Such a pretty pattern but I guess I would get tired having a whole set of it.
Will have to look at the Xenia. You would have filled a suitcase at this flea market.
Happy Sunday 💜 Will there be more videos from the Germany Flea Market? I too have never seen the Haufbaur birds Punch Bowl with Cups, so Amazing 🤩💜 You found some great items, thank you for the Video💜💜Have a Blessed Day💜
Up next is a consignment shop in Germany that is more like an upscale thrift store. I shopped two more flea markets, but did not film. It's quite challenging to film with privacy laws. Some sellers screamed at me and demanded money for filming their punch bowl or other items. It's not for the faint of heart.
@@LadyMaryBeth I am sorry. I look at it as free advertisement, I guess some do not. I look forward to seeing the Consignment Shop
video 💜💜💜💜

Came to Germany with you
Glad you joined me!
I lived in Texas, on lake of the pines and still have a house there but I would gladly spend my summers in Germany to be away from the summer humidity and since we are of German decent on both sides of the family I would love to visit and go to that wonderful flea market. I always enjoyed first Monday.
German summers can be hot, too. Not usually as humid, but no a/c for relief. Best times of the year there are Spring and Fall. Hope you can visit Germany and go thrifting.
How wonderful it’s such a shame younger people don’t want theses amazing pottery and glass wear it’s so beautiful I would have bought tons
From the uk but living in Spain
Really enjoyed your vlog pricing would of been good
Those cut to clear wine glasses, I had been dreaming to get from car boot sales and charity shops in England. 😮
I bought a set of 6 cut-to-clear wines at another flea market this trip. Keep looking and you will find them at a future sale. Or, travel to Germany where you find them at every vintage market and thrift store. Many were made by Nachtmann in Bavaria.
Wow, will certainly do. Thanks ❤️❤️
Thanks for the tour. Did anyone have vintage German Christmas items?
I only saw two Räuchermann/Smokers featured on a table.
I have things from Bavaria from when my grandparents lived in Austria.
Bavaria was a major porcelain producer. Enjoy your family treasures!
nice
I’m new to your channel oh my when u spoke German I kid u not I spoke sometime ago I spoke to a Gov office that’s exactly how I sounded in English!! I was like Who’s this? I do have German but not like that!!!😊😂nerves! Lol
Welcome to the channel and thanks for coming along to Germany. Hope to get back to this store in the fall.
Thank you, I enjoyed your video. Where was this flea market please?
Homburg, Germany 🇩🇪
The finial on the forest animal themed stoneware is a grouse not a turkey.
Thanks for the clarification. 😉
@@LadyMaryBeth I sure enjoyed joining you on a walk through the market. The fine linens are a real bargain!
❤😊
2:11 1976, 3:10 the famous onion masher was often only available under the counter (GDR--I still sold it around 1985), 4:28 1981,5:08 - 1989,28:26 these were very expensive in gdr times and were often bought in hungary or the czech republic. mother got a glass for 50 gdr marks. one considers the rent in a new building (panel building) came to 1979 66 marks and the salary of a saleswoman 570 gdr marks.sorry, google doesn't translate properly.
Any idea of pattern name of Casa Nova shabby chic china?
I looked back at the footage and there is no pattern name. Google Lens did not recognize. The backstamp reads: Casa Nova Home Product Import GmbH. It also gives the street address for the company: Graf-Zeppelin Strasse 5 D-46149 Oberhausen. The D and numbers represent Germany and a zip code. This is a newer set and sold at box stores.
Dear Mary Beth...what to get for newborn baby girl??????
My top suggestions for a keepsake baby girl gift: James Avery birthstone or heart charm, engraved Sterling spoon, Waterford Crystal stem/Sterling flatware piece to start her pattern that you can add to each year, Limoges box, Waterford heart paperweight. Look up her birthstone and flower. This could be honored in many ways.
They re so equisite things
Why aren´t your videos in HD 1080 resolution? 😞
Embalame todo eso a Puerto Rico te pago el triple de lo q pagas esos q compras por €25 yo lo vendo aqui en la isla 🇵🇷🇺🇸 por $300 😄
Wow, that is a huge cost increase.
Prices 🤷🏼♀️
I tried to give prices when possible. Filming in Germany has its challenges. I was not welcomed by all sellers.
Hate to say this But Hamburg is not in southwest Germany it is northern Germany. Please check your map..ja..ja
It’s Homburg, not Hamburg. These are pronounced differently if you listen closely. Homburg is in the Saarland state of Germany. 🇩🇪
