So many of us Americans have German heritage that your tour is a glimpse of nostalgia.
Recently, I discovered your channel on RUclips. So far I’ve been really enjoying your Contant. I’m a lifelong collector of antiques, especially porcelain, silver, old Christmas items, and furniture. Your tour of the German flea market and home was interesting too. In high school and college ( Wartburg College, in Waverly, Iowa) I took German.

I loved this video. I spent 7 years of my young life living in Baumholder Military base in Germany which is not far from you. I wanted to live in Germany too but now live in Georgia. Your remodel is gorgeous. We used to spend holidays with my mother’s Maid, more her friend, and their home was attached to the barn too. Such memories.

Wow, just love your family history in this home. My favorite is the book room. So many unique books and items there. Love the blue & white bathroom stunning. Can't wait for more from you in Germany. So beautiful.
The upstairs sitting room is a relaxing and quiet spot. So many historical and current books, including some in English for guests.
What an honor to be able to live in a home with a family history and culture! It's lovely. Thanks you so very much for sharing this, I'm looking forward to what you share next!
I appreciate your kind comment. The home means so much to us. Just hope that our kids will keep it in the family. We get a lot of calls to rent or purchase our house. We always decline. Will not let it go in my lifetime.

You are so kind, and your home is beautiful!
I appreciate you so much!
Bella Bella so nice. Love the white walls and lovely pieces. Good luck with your future videos
Thank you so much!
Lovely home. Thanks for sharing. I lived in a Germany's home without built-in closet space. Germany, one of my favorite places.
As you mention, German homes do not have built in closets. A Kleiderschrank is a furniture item placed in bedrooms. Neat that you lived in Germany. 🇩🇪
Wonderful !!
I absolutely LOVE the Euro shams in your first level bedroom. 💙
Thank you! 😊 I think those shams were from the Nina Campbell collection at Stein Mart. We have many more shams in the linen closet. I like to have extra, especially those that are monogrammed.
They are stunning.
I have so enjoyed my visits to Germany. Thanks for your tour. Greetings from Australia x

New to your channel. Loved seeing your beautiful home. My ancestors came from Metz, France. I went to Metz several years ago, lovely city, rich in history.
absolutely loved the video! Agreed with below comments. I am a German American and I was thrilled to see your home!
Thanks for coming along for the home tour. Hope you get to Germany sometime.
Just delightful. So interesting, the different cultures of how people live, celebrate and decorate. The fact of bringing the kitchen with you etc and wardrobes and even seperate blankets. Thanks again for explaining to us. Have a great time LMB.
Thanks so much! I didn’t even touch on separating waste. It’s a different world and requires much effort. Anyway, more to come! Stay tuned for thrifting and more of the village. 🇩🇪
Simply wonderful. How blessed you are to have this beautiful home away from home!
Thank you! I do not take it for granted. This home connects us to the past and future.
So many warm memories in that house.
Joe Moore war hier. ☺️ Must come see us!
Hi, I enjoyed the tour. I especially liked the wintergarden room!! I married a Portuguese man and we built a house in Portugal on land his father gave to us just next to his childhood home. I ship things over here from NY. We don’t have the beautiful antiques like you do but it’s comfortable. It’s great to be able to have family experiences in Europe.
Such a privilege to have homes on two continents. Have heard Portugal is beautiful and I hope to visit someday.
You definitely should visit. Every part of the country is a little different and special. We often get in the car and drive around Spain and France. I would like to get to Germany and Luxembourg some day. We have relatives in Luxembourg.
Can’t wait hope your well much love Ann uk 🇬🇧

Thanks for your sweet message, Pat. A comprehensive tour of our Texas home will have to wait. Have featured some areas of our home in past videos.

I am pronouncing your maiden name in my head as I read your message. Good to hear from you! ☺️
Nice House. Love the winter garden.
Thank you! We spend a lot of the summer in our Wintergarten.
Thank you for sharing - the walkthrough was so much fun to watch. You and your family have a beautiful home and you are so fortunate the home has an interesting history.
We are stewards of the home and hope that our children continue this legacy. Thanks for your kind comment. ☺️
So wonderful that you and your husband save the home and the things in it. Isn’t it amazing to have great family history time
We are blessed to be able to renovate and enjoy this home. Many encouraged us to sell. They could not see the possibilities and vision we had. Locals still call to inquire about buying or renting our home.
