    I just found your channel!!! As soon as I saw brimfield my heart stopped😂 I’m originally from mass. and I so miss Brimfield!! So sorry that the rain literally put a damper on the visit. That picture is adorable and would be a sweet brimfield reminder if not one else has asked for it🙏🏻
    I did like that wooden tray too. Saw so many things. ❤ I have a couple of metal pieces for the garden from brimfield too!! I’m in Maine now on a homestead so visiting would be difficult (lots of animals) but boy would I love to go in September! Got me thinking now😂.

      I'm so glad you found me! I'm also glad that my video gave you a little glimpse of your old stomping ground. I would have loved to send you the picture, but it's already spoken for. I'm going to look out for other fun things that I can offer viewers from time to time. It's so nice to share! You should definitely come to Brimfield next time or in the fall if you can get a homesteading babysitter! (Your new life sounds like my absolute dream, if I'm being honest).

    I was at Brimfield this year as well. I absolutely love going. We arrive late morning, stay overnight and do a full second day. And I agree with you about the lack of pricing. What the heck is with that?? I am so turned off by dealers who do it, and this year it seemed an extremely high number of sellers just couldn't be bothered to price their merchandise. We had a fabulous time though and came home with treasures. May go back again in September!

      I'm so jealous that you do 2 days in a row! So much fun! It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only person who was frustrated with the lack of pricing. It's such a basic thing to take care of, right? I'm glad you found some treasures! Our planters and bench should be back soon (from being sandblasted) and I can't wait to see them!

    Chris!! Oh my goodness! I think it’s safe to assume you went on Thursday. My daughter and I postponed our visit til Friday and after seeing your video I’m so glad we did. There is such controversy regarding priced or unpriced on the Brimfield Antique Show Facebook page. I personally dislike it when nothing is priced. I’m not asking for prices on every item. What a flip comment from the seller. Imagine what he would have done if you walked away. I would have walked away. OMG! So many phone calls! Ridiculous! I love the pieces you found. Oh, oh, oh!! I wish I had seen that stunning tray. I would have bought it. I collect tole trays and although that was wood, it was stunning. We spent nearly the entire day there and for this almost 77 year old lady that was a workout.

    • @WorthingtonHome
      @WorthingtonHome  3 месяца назад +2

      Yes, we went on Thursday - it was the only day we had available. It was soggy for sure, but worth it in the end. There were a lot of things that I would have been likely to buy if I knew what the price was. It's a risky strategy for the seller to not price things - I bet a lot of business is lost that way. The tray was so beautiful! It keeps crossing my mind which is maybe a sign of regret.....I'm incredibly impressed that you spent the entire day at Brimfield, especially at 77! I'm 53 and I was done after 3.5 hours! Very impressive!

    Not a bakers rack but a shoe rack from the old mills! They put the pairs of shoes on these racks after they were dyed. I once bought 50 of these and took two years to sell all of them.

    Hi Kris! Such beautiful & unique items, even in a downpour! That beautiful patio furniture you got goes for crazy high prices here in Indiana! I pick up those pieces when I find them to refurbish ❤ I too need a couple of margaritas before singing the theme song from All In The Family 🤣😁🍷🍷 lol. I'm glad to know that we are all spelling your name correctly now. I too have dealt with that my entire 59 years of life & still do 😅 Have a fabulous day - Jeri ☕☕

      It's interesting to know that the prices would be high in Indiana. It's definitely not cheap here either, but I thought we ultimately got a pretty good deal. And the obelisk/trellis was the cheapest I've ever seen by far. I paid more for a really small one that wasn't nearly as old. Someday we'll have to sing a duet - one of us can take the Edith part and the other can be Archie! 😂😂😂😂

      @CountryCreekBoutiqueIndiana 3 месяца назад

      @@WorthingtonHome LOL 🤣🤣 Hey I'm up for singing 😆😆 I would probably do the Archie part (you have the soft voice & I definitely do not lol). Yes, it's crazy that furniture like that goes for crazy prices & marketplace is the place to watch (they sale older pieces low low thinking they're "junk", but they're not junk at ALL)! I love some of our Indiana & even Illinois hidden treasure background shops! You can find magnificent pieces (the old'ish country folk here have been collectors for centuries & the next generation not so much). There are definitely treasure hunts that are fantastic! Have a fabulous day, Kris 🥰 ~~ Jeri

    I go to antique fairs and flea markets (including Brimfield) frequently and it’s pretty common for nothing to be priced. You have to get used to asking when you see something that you like. 😊

    • @WorthingtonHome
      @WorthingtonHome  3 месяца назад +1

      What was tricky at Brimfield was that we couldn't easily access the seller a lot of time - so we had to decide if we wanted to hunt him/her down to ask pricing questions. With the garden furniture we had to go through 3 tents before we found someone. But I definitely get your point - it's really not that big a deal to ask. I shouldn't be so cranky! 😊😊

    I have a couple of textile or wallpaper stamps. Haven’t actually used them. They look great on my wall as part of a collage.

      I bet they're really pretty as a collection! I've heard of people using them in all kinds of different ways, but mine will probably just be for display. The price drama made me nuts (as you can tell). I would usually walk away, but I was in love with the garden furniture! I'm glad we reached a good price in the end, but what a silly waste of time.
