    When you start looking seriously at van life, I would like to recommend one of the 1994-2007 Mitsubishi Delica's "Space Gear" preferably w/ the 2.8L turbo diesel. I understand that they're not small vans, but there are some advantages they offer and shouldn't break the bank. First, they use the same engines and transmissions as the Montero/Pajero/Shogun which means that you'll be able to find parts easily when you need to fix something or do maintenance. The diesels are very reliable and unlike a smaller van, the Delica is pretty capable offroad. Second, the middle row can swivel to one side leaving a nice bit of open space inside and the back seats together fold flat into a queen sized bed; they usually have curtains on the windows in back and behind the front seats as well for privacy. The rear side windows lever open for airflow making it a great refuge in all sorts of weather and there's a large center sunroof that's wonderful for looking up at the stars on a nice summer night. Last, as these are standard features you'll need to do very little to use it as a livable space and it shouldn't advertise van-life like customizing a smaller van might.

    So many questions that will only be answered by continuing to watch. Will he be able to complete the challenge in the allotted time? Is a bear really faster than moped-san? Will he be able to get a van? Will bird-san ever buy merch? Will he hit 200k? Will he have to sell feet pics? Stay tuned and find out?

    I’ve been on some long road trips, and it’s really a balancing act between making time/progress on your route and enjoying the things you pass through. It’s also less tiring to take breaks from the driving position and move around to keep yourself from getting too stiff. A day off here and there to explore and rest is so welcome!

    Being homeless in Japan vs being homeless here in the U.S. seems like being homeless in Japan, you still get to eat real good and live well. Whereas being homeles in the US, it's depressing as f*ck.

    • @ShawnJonesHellion
      @ShawnJonesHellion Месяц назад +1

      The homeless person I questioned about their finances seemed to be living well. An was trying to get off the topic; even tho I was just trying to figure out if there was a better way. I myself was living outside an he was talking about hotels. An me or most people I know couldn't afford a hotel for one night at any point in life . Yet alone everyday. An he would still ask me for stuff knowing I lived outside. Sooo. You might wanna check out that this dude has probably $10,000 in donations from Americans alone on this video alone. Now the homeless you don't see; may be different. But some people say people are homeless cause drugs. An even middle class people would have problems with a good drug habits prices, which is more costly than a hotel itself. $100 a day for food an hotel + $100 a day for drugs. If someone actually were doing both somehow they would have an income of $6000 a month. Much more than many people make.

    You continue to put out great content. Love getting to see the different stuff in Japan as always. That was an impressive looking menu at the internet cafe. I had never heard of an internet cafe before getting into anime. Having to be so extra quite would get old real quick though. But I would probably feel different if that is how I grew up.
    It is kind of sad to hear that Van-life will not happen until next year. I know from experience that tent-life is miserable once it starts dropping below 10° C. It may not be freezing temp, but laying in the tent sure feels like it is. 🥶So I am curious how you will navigate the full winter. I doubt there will be very much tent-life happening. But you made it through last winter. So that means you already know this. I still worry though.

In the us we had quite a few Internet cafes/coffeehouses in the 1990s, but when home internet became standard most of them are gone. Also they never really had libraries/billiards/showers and there were no resting/overnight areas. I am curious on your take on why they are so prevalent around Japan!

    2:30 Van life. Nomad San, van life requires more money and we are here to help you. Fixed costs increases a lot. And you will need to have an reserve fund for some emergencies on the road. I don't know how things are in Japan, but I would look for a popular van car, that parts are the cheapest and any mechanic can fix. In Brazil, we use the Volkswagen Transporter T2 (popular name in Brazil: Kombi) for popular van life.

    You're never homeless as long as there are Japanese internet cafes.

    In the U.S. fish eggs that you eat are roe or caviar. Salty and delicious little treats that go well with many dishes. I always edit my comment as I watch the video. I just laughed my wife and I always have this weird "coincidence" where something we are doing or talking about randomly comes up. She just started watching Dandadan about 4 days ago. That's crazy I love it! The happy ice cream dance is glorious! I wish when I was homeless in America we had affordable places with internet and food like Japan. I had to save up to $100+ USD to get a hotel room for 20 hours and that was if I checked-in immediately. I wish we had a system like that here, for those who choose the lifestyle or end up there against their own will.

    It's totally valid to feel the way you feel. I don't see you as complaining at all. I'm tired after travelling and you're doing it non stop. Love seeing your journey. When your channel gets bigger maybe you can outsource some editing.

    I'm doing RUclips myself and feeling tired is completely normal. Sometimes I take 2-3days off completely to relax myself and get a free head, a good work-life balance always helped me :D
