Ahhh, the 80's and 90's. No smart phones, internet was just for chatting, you were free to play in the streets as a kid, overly rowdy house parties every weekend and the cops would rarely show up. You could street race your buddy down the road without going to jail. You had the freedom to do whatever you wanted without being constantly under the glare of a hundred cameras. People minded their own business. What a time. Gone forever.
Even then, they’re still ziptied today 😂 these are drift builds meaning they know the possibility of the car being trashed so they say fuck it and put zip ties instead of a whole new bumper 😂

I'd like to say you are wrong to assume companies are like that. Look at Toyota with the mk5 supra and gr yaris, Subaru with the new brz / wrx / sti. I wouldn't blame the companies as consumers didn't demand those types of cars. It's not worth it for them to spend millions on R&D and not make a large enough profit for it to be worthwhile

When I was an elementary school kid in the 1980s, I used to fall asleep to the distant sound of car noises from my bedroom in Japan. I imagined that somewhere on isolated roads, especially mountain pin-curved roads, adult men were still awake, enjoying their night lives without disturbing our sleep. The distant noise was a kind of lullaby for my childhood.
Imagine being one of those kids, watching this video rn and you're like: "ahh... Good old times!... " with a happy tear out of your eye... Damn, I'm getting sad by thinking about that.
