You could street race your buddy down the road without going to jail. You had the freedom to do whatever you wanted without being constantly under the glare of a hundred cameras. People minded their own business. What a time. Gone forever.
The Fast and the Furious came to the World in 2001, But the Japanese in the 90's were the real Masters , they was way ahead of there Time. They are the (Real) Fast and the Furious!!! 100% respect for Japan.

I'd like to say you are wrong to assume companies are like that. Look at Toyota with the mk5 supra and gr yaris, Subaru with the new brz / wrx / sti. I wouldn't blame the companies as consumers didn't demand those types of cars. It's not worth it for them to spend millions on R&D and not make a large enough profit for it to be worthwhile
