People hate this movie just because Brian or the others aren't in it. In a way, I actually think it's a refresher; most of the movie actually involves cars, racing and true to its name; drifting. There's only little about action and crazy fights and even those were good and believable- this was an amazing movie that deserves more respect in the fast franchise.

It's a 6/10 for me. Honestly, people praise the shit out of it because it's the best Fast n Furious, but FnF franchise never really good movies. It stays faithful to its racing theme, it has decent storyline structure and chemistry amongs people is ok, but it's just mediocre at best. Remind you that when Tokyo Drift first came out people bash the shit out of it, like the whole year long. Like if you new ti the franchise and you haven't been influenced by the review, this is most definitely a shit one.
This is the best Fast & Furious movie imo. What’s interesting about Tokyo Drift is the message and lessons it tries to tell despite all the glorious racing. That drift scene in the mountains at night is unforgettable. Sometimes, you just gotta enjoy life for what it is and live in the moment.

Same here, the races and everything are great, but what i liked the most is that they actually had some quiet and funny/relaxed moments and some serious moments here and there. Maybe that's why a lot of people don't like this movie beacuse it's not non stop racing and action.
Even Christopher Nolan showed that he cared about this movie the most out of entire franchise when he said that he had a "soft spot" for Tokyo Drift. And that the franchise grew and grew to "become something else."

SuB SONiC Technically the movie was relevant to the franchise because it had Han in it. It’s just that back then, Han had only been in like a few minutes of F&F 4, so nobody really knew how he fit in with the story since everyone was confused when he was alive. They only made him relevant when 5 came out.
Interestingly enough, this one is actually my favorite of the franchise. Something in the storytelling, camera angles, even as campy as much of the story is, the action is much more believable. (And i never realized how annoying Vin Diesel/Dom was and is until I watched this one again after a long while.) So yeah...Tokyo Drift FTW.

This movie aged incredibly well. Especially compared to the turn this series took afterwards. Taking the formula and putting it into Japan where it's no longer about just driving fast turns it into a brilliant fish out of water story.

Same here, the races and everything are great, but what i liked the most is that they actually had some quiet and funny/relaxed moments and some serious moments here and there.
Maybe that's why a lot of people don't like this movie beacuse it's not non stop racing and action.

Even Christopher Nolan showed that he cared about this movie the most out of entire franchise when he said that he had a "soft spot" for Tokyo Drift. And that the franchise grew and grew to "become something else."

This is pretty much what I'm thinking for like a decade now. Why not collaborate with NETFLIX for a TV series or something and showoff Han's story before TOKYO DRIFT? How he got into drifting in Japan met Takashi and the way he became part of the street scene in Tokyo. I will never understand why they are missing out on giving back to the core fandom for once in their lives

Technically the movie was relevant to the franchise because it had Han in it. It’s just that back then, Han had only been in like a few minutes of F&F 4, so nobody really knew how he fit in with the story since everyone was confused when he was alive. They only made him relevant when 5 came out.
Interestingly enough, this one is actually my favorite of the franchise. Something in the storytelling, camera angles, even as campy as much of the story is, the action is much more believable. (And i never realized how annoying Vin Diesel/Dom was and is until I watched this one again after a long while.) So yeah...Tokyo Drift FTW.

This movie aged incredibly well. Especially compared to the turn this series took afterwards. Taking the formula and putting it into Japan where it's no longer about just driving fast turns it into a brilliant fish out of water story.
