I think the map of the maze at 41:41 is actually wrong. Must be some hidden portal a bit in seen from the upper right corner. Otherwise I don't manage to find the way in and out to the center. 😊
It always amazes me to hear references to engineers, greenhouses, and other advancements in documentaries about a society that was so fundamentally superstitious and backward, particularly medically. How does a culture still dying of the common cold and burning witches manage to get their minds around engineering?
the great hall is AWEsome and the gardens are beautiful. it's not so packed like the tower of london cos you need to travel quite a bit to get to hampton court 👻👻👻
No one mentioned Henry's hunting grounds . Since Victoria open for the people(Bushy Park) that was in WWII General Eisenhowers Head Quarters in London. Also Much of Hampton Court is inhabited by Veterans or retired Staff to the Royal family as 'Grace and Favour' homes . Enjoyed the narration of these young people. Except the elder Gardener. For the much loved educative play ground in the Late 40's. The yews in the Maze were more dense in those times.
Anne Boleyn did not go to the executioners block. She went to the scaffold and was beheaded by sword. Also, Henry did not marry Jane Seymour the day after she was executed, he was engaged the next day and married Jane 11 days later.
Henry VIII becomes 108, unfortunately the - simultaneous - subtitles are - machine - translations. ( Google or Yahoo?) And it is indeed not easy always to understand the often very strong British accent.
@@juliez1186 very often, someone whose native langauge is not English, turns on the subtitles to understand better what the Narrator is saying. And sometimes those people have a very strong accent.or speak dialect.Which the -cc- cant translate at all...

I've been looking for documentaries about palaces and castles. Glad I've found this one.
Wow - so amazing - Looking forward to visiting there someday .....
How amazing it would be to spend time here, breathing in the beauty and history where so many lived their historic lives!
A truly magnificent architectural treasure. Could spend days exploring the grounds, rooms and artifacts.
These videos uploaded from this channel are absolutely fabulous. Thank you. My new favorite RUclips channel ❤

Ask the Romans and Greeks as well.

There is no people living at HC anymore.

They need to fact-check their historians. George III didn't become king until 1760. He wasn't even alive in 1737.
Henry was a superior athlete. The guy playing him in this video resembles a flabby gamer. Is this all they could find for an actor?
Had to produce over 800 meals everyday, and half of those were for Henry 😂
The subtitles are terrible. Henry the eight as Henry VII (7)? Anne Berlin? Anne Boleyn....... Doesn't anybody do a check?
