Who wouldn’t want a palace that comes with its own zoo (which was also beautiful btw). The Gloriette and Palm House were also really nice IMO. It seems like it was a tranquil and relaxed space back in the day, a home (even though massive) they could relax at. Comparable to Versailles (though the gardens are perhaps prettier) a little but, though having all of the animals would still have my preference. Their residence, The Hofburg, in the city center has a prettier outside in my opinion, but aside from that the grounds with all of the animals, and just the large amount of (then private) space would still be much better than being locked up in the city (unless back then the space around it was also all private).
Kudos to the BRIT producers to take an Austrian Palace as number one. And even more Kudos that you showed and talked about things that are more or less unknown to the public. When I visit Schönbrunn, especial when it is summer, i always go the the - orange garden-. During the warm month there are lots of orange and mandarin trees there. while one is not allowed to PICK any fruit, - unofficially - one is allowed to take ore ages or mandarines that have fallen from the trees and are on the ground. And for me,as a cacti lover, the KAKTUS HAUSE but also the PALMENHAUS are a must see.
as long as you dont have to live there. As long as you are a tourist only. Where the bus or U Bahn carts you to all those places. Then it is indeed nice.
I wish I could build a castle 🏰 for my Queen, because she is the best woman in the world 🌏 to me, & she deserves it, Everyone should have a Queen in their lives!
They have a lot more homes, not all shown in all the shows/ movies. I think in the Sissi-trilogy with Romy Schneider the actual Schönbrunn is shown. So there you could see it. In the recent series die Kaiserin and Sisi I think they use different buildings (partially). They also have a palace in the city center of Vienna as well (The Hofburg). And they had one in Hungary I think. And they had a summer house/ villa/ palace in Bad Ischl. Which is also really nice. I think that one can be seen in the series Die Kaiserin. And maybe one in Greece as well, on Corfu! There is also a movie Corsage, more realistic, but forgot what is shown there. And of course a musical has been made about it! This is all I know.
Lol… her way of dancing around the style of the palace. Saying it was of Maria Theresa’s period, and of the style sweeping Europe. Its French… and was made famous by Louis the XIV, the most influential monarch at the beginning of the 18th century. She literally couldn’t bring herself to say french.
These episodes are great but it should not be narratived by their local. Their 😊 accents are to thick.should narrated by one person with clear 😊manage. I had to just go past a lot because of other language could not under stand.
Schönbrunn was, by far, the most beautiful palace I‘ve visited….The grounds are STUNNING.
That's nice to know.

🤩😍👍✌💛Thanks history documentary & It's absolutely gorgeous and wonderful palace💯💖🌺🥂Enjoyed and pleasurable experience 🏰⛲☀✨♥💐
I was there in 1999. The celebration all over town of Sisi's would be 100th year since her death. It was gorgeous.
Vienna is a beautiful city 🤩

From Maria Theresia to Elisabeth Sisi, Schonbrunn Palace is truly a structure frozen in historical time.
I wish I could build a castle 🏰 for my Queen, because she is the best woman in the world 🌏 to me, & she deserves it, Everyone should have a Queen in their lives!
Visited in 1977. Utterly beautiful. I found myself wanting to dance through the connected rooms out into the garden and up to the top of the mount..
Visited in 1971…. I agree
Thank you for this video, it’s very informative. ❤
That palace so wonderful 🏰 and so rich in history though its hard to pronounce.
The guides accent is very interesting combination English-Austrian. Never heard the like before.
The only royal palace that can compare to Versailles.
It is a wonderful palace.
😂 Mozart played the (Wait for it)
Pepsi Chord😮
Restore the Austrian Monarchy!👑🖤💛👑
Great documentary ❤
Yes, fascinating..and I want to see it.
Never knew of this palace but heard of the hapsburgs.Sorry I wouldn't be able to see this magnificent edifice in my lifetime.

I find Sisi one of the most fascinating, and tragic, women of the latter half of the 19th century.
A sad pathetic woman.
As I always say if it's not Baroque... don't fix it ☝️🙂
i wonder how many people understand this utterly perfect reference...
Right on! From Beauty and the Beast…for me..loved that line.iconic. Give me those fat, gold little cherubs and gilt anytime.
Just WOW!
Bella gerant alii, tu felix Austria nube
I'm so proud 👏 to be an ancestor of the royal family of Austria 🇦🇹 💜 the only thing that I didn't inherit was their 💎 gems and wealth.
You can maybe a descendant, but not an ancestor...... or are you Rudolf der Stifter?
So and to what part of the haus of Habsburg would you be a part of??
She is still royalty, Sisi…what was she thinking? Naive.
Lipizzaner Stalions there?
No, they are in the Stallburg, next to the Hofburg Palace!
"All the world is subject to Austria" .
- Habsburg -
All that power and wealth! And all I got out of that lineage is an underbite.
Don’t forget, you can see the crypt at Shoubrunn
Her words do not really reflect the awful and disgraceful way Karl & Zita were kicked out of the country.
more about the people who lived there than the palace
They go together.
Why are they only talking about people, in a video about a palace😂😂

Not surprised considering she is British...
This subtitle is not correct
Is not history, Just gossip from the rich and famous as usual 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂 Captions: sunburn= Schonbrunn 😂
?? You lost me with the Bill Clinton connection... try to focus folks, (more about the palace and less about random 'celebrities' please.)
Yes, you’re right, get to the palace.
