    Great video, just bad advice on using the yellow wire. aux 1 is 30 amp which should be saved for something much higher draw I went to aux 3 for these and aux 4 for rock lights.

      Yeah, ditto, I thought the same thing, why use the huge amp wire for something like those lights? I have used my switches 5 & 6 for lights. I do like their videos, I've seen a few others.

      I was thinking the same thing until I started wiring my own saw that the four 10a wires are only 22awg. The upper two are only 16. To each his own, but I would never use 22 to carry even low power more than a foot or two. May look at the relay box and see if those can be replaced.

    Great video. One nice advantage to going with the Rigid lights is the brackets are "adjustable" side-to-side. This enables you to slide it out of the way (at least partially) from the antenna on the passenger side. Less expensive lights have brackets with a single mount hole (no side-to-side adjustment).

    First switch is overkill for the ditch lights. 3-6 would be better 1)30a 2)15a, 3-6)10a

    It would be very helpful to show the nighttime illumination with just the headlights and with the pod lights. I’m wondering how much more illumination there is with the pod lights.

    I personally would have use a quick disconnect for the wiring connection. It would save you from cutting the factory wire again it doesn’t look very long to begin with.

    • @D3thM3tal
      @D3thM3tal 2 года назад

      Eh, you shot it at where the crimp is so you would only lose 1/8" of wire each time. I get the thought, but a weatherpak connection there is a bit overkill. There is also more wire than it looks like, or at least there is on my SD anyway.

    • @MiddletonMotorsports
      @MiddletonMotorsports  2 года назад +4

      That is a good idea. Maybe we will implement that when we add a light-bar and move the pod lights to switch 2 and light-bar to switch 1.

    • @stevensimpson1043
      @stevensimpson1043 Год назад

      May be a dumb question, but I’m not a wiring guy. Using a weatherpak, would you be able to crimp both of the wires into the one, using the single weatherpack connector? Hopefully I’m not complicating this question.

    Question, do you still have to ground the negative to the frame? I assumed ford made this wiring like a Switch Pro or sPod to were you just connected the wires directly to a port, but it looks like you did a ground to the frame. Not a huge deal, just clarifying.

    Are these Pods listed with the Ford Accessories still? I can't find them. Also, did you use Switch 1 for the Pods? I was thinking of using Switch 2(15amp) for Rigid Light Bar and Switch 3(10amp) for the Rigid Pods. Thoughts? Also, are you going to do the Rigid light bar next? :-)

    • @MiddletonMotorsports
      @MiddletonMotorsports  2 года назад +1

      I think they should still be listed with Ford Accessories. We can get them ordered for you if you would like, just let us know. In regards to switch we picked. We did the 1st switch due to connivance currently. Once the light-bar comes in we will most likely change which switches each lighting group goes to.

    • @2011blueman

      @@PrtTymPimp1980 Each AUX switch has a different gauge wire intended for a specific amperage. Switch 1, yellow wire has a 1.5mm wire gauge and corresponds to the 25A fuse. AUX2 is 1.5mm with 15A fuse, AUX3 is 0.75mm and 10A fuse, AUX4 to AUX6 are 0.35mm and 5A fuses. I wouldn't recommend what you're suggesting.

    • @panzer948
      @panzer948 2 года назад

      @@2011blueman Hey, thanks for that note on wire gauge. I was unaware of that and its important we understand (still waiting o my Bronco so haven't looked hard enough). But that begs the question on what we can use with those smaller wire gauges on Aux 4 to 6. I would think small lights like these should be for the smaller diameter wire but are these last 3 switch gauges to small for dual offroad lights. if so, what else is there that they could be useful for. Maybe pod under body lights I suppose. Guess I need to figure out what gauge and fuse the components recommend and start there.

    • @2011blueman

      The ford accessory kit part number is M-15200K-BML. It comes with the brackets, Rigid 360 series 4'' light pods, wiring, bolts, and "ford performance" light covers. One important thing to note is that the ford version of the Rigid 360 lights disables the backlight feature that is normally on the rigid 360 lights. Normally the 360 lights have a backlight available in various colors.

    • @panzer948

      @@2011blueman thanks for that update. If only we could get that better bracket he used here with the standard Rigid Pod Lights (with backlight feature). I bought the latter with the chrome cheaper bracket and it doesn't give me enough play to get the light away from the antenna. I need to find another bracket, or modify the current ones, to move it back and to right an half inch or so. Those Rigid Brackets also need to be painted. Looks terrible against the black base and mirror area.
