I'm Dutch and see The Spookslot from it's first day. I know something bigger and new in the same theme is comming back but I still think it is a bloody shame to tear this iconic attraction down. My heart is crying :(
hxc I think it's great that you give so many reactions to the Efteling it's my favorite theme park I really appreciate it because you haven't been there yet and I think a lot of people outside of Europe have never heard of it you bring it worldwide and live happily ever after greetings from the Netherlands
Love that you're doing this one so soon. It's great to see the love these men have for their job. One of the guys, mari, also had an efteling fan special about the mechanics of the attractions that he made. The title is: Vakman Mari weet écht alles van bewegingstechnologie in de Efteling - Efteling Fans I also really recommend it; Fascinating guy with a fascinating ( jealousmaking) job. ...And the clip is allready subtitled in English 😎👍
Hi De Spookslot in De Efteling was and still is my favorite attraction. The first time I have seen it I was 6 yeas old (I am now 48). It was amazing everything about was so impressive that it was scary at all. Every year my parents and I went to De Efteling and every time I must see De Spookslot. It brings nostalgic memories. It is sad that this attraction had to go. But in 2024 there is something more amazing standing attraction standing in place. Thank you for showing the video.
Yes, have some nice memories on this haunted house. First: we went to the efteling with kindergarten, when I was a year or 5, so the hause just opened (I do realize that now). We were prepared by our teacher, but still, it scared me (and the other kids as well). Back then, the show itself took a little longer and there was more to see during the waiting queue. the waiting queue back then was at least an hour. For a five year old, that is like an eternity. Anyway, the dark tunnle you had to go through, a hairy arm holding a chandelier with moving demons on the ceiling etc, were impressive. Nowadays woke parents would refuse to take a kid up there. In the USA the Efteling would be sued if this was introduced in present day. But back then parents, teachers and other adults just say: grow up, it is al fake. Just enjoy it. And yes, the show itself I did like a lot. Yes it was spooky, but also very impressive. It was a 15 minute show back then (or maybe even 20, not sure) with the beautiful Saint-Saëns' dance macabre.Back at school, days later we still talked about it. If I am not mistaken the replacement attraction is named after the music: Dance Macabre. I hope I can enjoy it someday just as much as this haunted house back then. Well, maybe when I have the luck to become a granddad, My daughter herself is too old nowadays to go with her dad to a themepark.
I was 7 years old the first time i went in,i was very afraid, now i am 40 and i think it was art en beautiful!my husband is a horror fan and loved it!we do miss it but im waiting for dans macabre!
The spooks lot has been slowly and carefully demolished so they can be used in the new ride and gonna be used their. Other parts went to the efteling museum.
hey i grew up with spookslot its ny favorite non rollercoaster in the park only hearing the music just turns me on always the same effect its perfect (the songs is called) Dance Marcarbre
Kate Bush? i had no idea. And that one of the guys sa only 18 when he helped build this and they used things they had laying around at home. And that tons of people even the cafe staff helped set up the recording? i think that's what made the Efteling so good, sometimes less budget was more creativity and I think this one, while parts are cheesy always looked good. With it's leaves from the fairy tale forest itself.
I do think having the old vinyl ads richness. I used to go to secondhand places and find a lot of old records for cheap. They are probably no longer cheap though as since then records have made a come back for sounding so good.
@@Iflie it does, but i gave away all my vinyls in the 90s.😁 Bought 'the kick inside' with a discount somewhere in the 90s. (I was 6 when the vinyl came out.. other than her dancing, kate wasn't really on my radar back then) No space for vinyl anymore...unless I get rid of my many books.. and that is not an option.😎
Visited the Spookslot 44 years ago and visited for the last time two years ago. Such a shame that it’s being demolished but a new one will be build. The gravestone of Kate Bush will move to the new attraction I’ve heard.

the haunted castle closed at the beginning of September 2022 and in 2024 the replacement will look a lot like it but of this time there were many people against the demolition I also thought it was a shame but we get something better back as far as I've seen and heard in the same style
Sorry for asking : I see it al the time, what do you have under your left cheek in your mouth ? A kind of bulge, looks pretty strange in all your videos? It's getting more and more noticeable

We love the Efteling 😃👍
There also exist a movie (2 parts) about the making off 'The Fatamorgana' in the Efteling. Also on FB. Greeting from the Netherlands.
