Watched your video and then went out bought the material and just finished. Cant wait to skate it
This warms my heart and soul.
that is pretty sick, maybe i will try this
Brooooooo best free angle iron, bed frames.
Now that’s working efficiently
Oh shit man. I bet I can get bed frames easy from Goodwill or any resale shop. I'm gonna look into this in the spring!!!
@@bloodywanker231 u can find them on OfferUp or Facebook marketplace for free usually too
Almost garenteed to find some laying around too
Yep. Been using bedframes for 25years. And their better. The edges are a bit rounded.
HELLO FROM IRAQ
Had a blast making this skate spot, thanks Andy for cruising out and skating it!
How much did it cost in total
@@raulluevano5709 Somewhere around $50, could be cheaper if you used angle iron from a mattress, and found some supplies from offerup, etc.
Love it! So simple! One thing for any super beginners going to the hardware store looking for angle iron, don't make the mistake of getting angle aluminum!! it's cheaper but does not grind!!
Yes, solid advance thanks Kyle!
Good tip.
@@gavinbander5 get your angle iron from a metal supply, You can more per foot that way than paying for a precut piece at chain stores.
Nice job dude, I'm planning on making a diy park in an abandoned building
Epic!!
best skate channel on the website
idk how you only have 10k this chanel is quality
Forealll I’m trippin out sending this guy to tha homies. I’m hella hyped cause he’s not even crazy at skating but I love how much you can tell he’s in it 4 tha culture he loves the shit
Great job, Dowdy! Killin' it
love the videos, once its warm enough to start using bond and liquid nails, im definitely gonna build one of these
thanks Zack, you make it all easy and i cant wait to make one myself. you got me hyped!!
Thanks!!
Good shizz!! - I'll make one of these at my diy spot - big love from Australia
Great videos!! Get a cut off wheel for your angle grinder. Same or similar material to the grinding wheel you were using but thinner so it cuts much faster. There are also some metal ones made now that cut well and last longer but are more expensive.
Dope build Zack! Thanks for the tutorial! Your homie killed it and your smith grind was 🔥
Thanks G! I have a lot to learn from Andy for sure.
Awesome video. You're on a real streak lately with these DIYs. I love watching your process of transforming dull parking lots into skate gems. I remember once when I was a kid some invisible hero built a small wood quarter pipe and left it in the public parking lot in my neighborhood. It lasted about a month before it disappeared. I'm sure it was dismantled and thrown away by some community official/ activist... but for that month that ramp became a magical place for us to skate. I learned to drop in on that ramp. I've been thinking about how I might pass the favor forward to the next generation in a way that won't result in me getting a trespassing charge or result in an immediately destroyed/stolen obstacle. I feel like I'm close to coming up with a plan thanks to your channel.
I'd like to offer one more thing, if I may.
Most people who are reading this are probably already familiar with safety around chemicals, but it's worth repeating: Always wear gloves and safety glasses when working with uncured Bondo, or any epoxy resin. Repeated skin or inhalation exposure to the curing agents in epoxy resins can result in developing a permanent allergy to the stuff. Some people tend to develop allergic dermatitis after only a few small skin exposures.
There is no cure for this. Generally people who develop the allergy become unable to work with even tiny quantities of epoxies without experiencing an allergic reaction. The allergy also tends to get worse with each exposure.
So, for the sake of all you DIY skate spot hobbyists, don't touch, breathe vapors from, or hover your face over uncured epoxy resins!
I love doing little shit like this so riders have spots. I skate and bike. But mostly bike.
Used to have these crazy hard steel pegs and wax out the ass just for going sketchy street grinds and smoothing out the ledge over time. Can basically break it in rideable for skaters if you don't chip the edge.
Just gotta avoid peg chingers and bonking the edge but not that hard. Gotta get a rub brick. Probably way faster and probably let me make more spots rideable even if I leave em rough.
Definitely need to built one of these in my area!
Sick video man
I'm a Blader but been enjoying all the d.i.y content dude 🤟 just subbed
Another Killer video! Metal cutting wheel for your grinder. They are the thin ones. Will Cut through angle iron like a hot knife through butter! Keep'em coming! Next time use the right wheel!#DIY! 👊😜🤘
Thank you Angelo, I knew there had to be a way. Gotta get a metal cutting wheel.
Your DIY videos are amazing man. Def subscribing
Much love!
Super inspiring I have a diy spot with the kicker you made and the bank to parking block, this is definitely the next addition keep up the good work
Also what was your total cost of all of it?
Epic!! Would love to see a photo, total cost was around $55 but honestly if I was more patience and got the cinderblocks from offer-up could’ve saved a lot.
We just got our Diy bull dozed by our city, but this video motivates me to go spot hunting tomorrow. We wont give up!
So sorry to hear about that, love your PMA though. Can't stop, and wont stop!
Wow nice, greetings from Colombia
LOVE IT, MERRY CHRISTMAS ZACK
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and New Year!
Thanks for what you do!
What about if we wanted to make a wood box ?
Should I make a video on that? Similar process but a wood form.
@@ZackDowdy yes!
I made one a while back. Just cut a pallet in half then nailed one half on top of the other and stuck angle iron on with liquid nails. Super easy and cheap. 👌
@@kallamcollins8856 I gotta try this!
Nice work!
I enjoy the subtitles for all your videos where it says your name is Zach Daddy
I think I might do this next summer
You got it! Super fun, you can make it any size or length really.
Maybe put some angle iron on that down bubba looking thing behind the ledge next? idk if it’s got a good run up or nothing just if you got the ledge up maybe u can get that next
You read my mind!
4:30 surprised you didnt rub brick and lacquer up that ramp ledge. that ramp alone and the drop next to it is a sick little fun spot.
These ledges are the best. The one near me recently got taken down however. I’ve got to recreate it somewhere.
You got this!
Banger
I just made some ledges by me skateable for the first time on christmas :3
So sick!!! Nice job!!! Maybe next diy manual skate pad
Thanks Luis, I was thinking for the next ledge it'll be a big concrete one that doubles as a manny pad.
awesome
weekend project confirmed.
That's freaking sick thanks for making a ledge! Awesome to see you push yourself and do something different. How long did it take to cut that excess angle iron with the hacksaw?
Appreciate it Tyler, it took around 15 minutes but that’s also me moving the tripod as I cut haha.
I might do this at my local public skatepark, all it has is a crappy fibreglass qtr pipe and jump box and one metal curb high "ledge" not much going on..
Does it have to be cool ranch or will any rito work?
All the ritos! Hot Cheetos are the guilty pleasure
@@ZackDowdy same
If you use a quicker drying adhesive should you still wait 24hrs?
youre so underrated
How many cans of sika pro u used for this ledge totally?
What deck are you skating in this video. Love the shape.
It's a welcome deck, not sure the exact one but was a hand-me down and I'm having a lot of fun on it for sure! Basically smaller nose with a square tail.
Did you have to use wax?
this didn't necessarily inspire me to make a ledge but it did inspire me to try wearing button-ups under crewnecks again
Love it
Great :)
What is the size of the ledge ?
rad
Thanks Falco! 🤘
Awesome, am a beginner
Can you do a video on how to make pole jams please? 🥺
Yes!
@@ZackDowdy thank you!! I wanna add it to a diy I'm trying to start
Can you build a manniepad with bricks
You think an old bed frame with angle iron and plywood would make a sturdy box?
Yeah!
Can you tell the height?
It's two cinderblocks high, smaller than it looks really. Around 2 ft.
@@ZackDowdy thanks
How much does this cost in total
1000th like
Andy quit wearing the yellow helmet?
The old Panini trick
Is that behind Michels?
Sure is!
🤐🤫🤫🤫
I’m gonna make one like 8 ft
Ledges and paninis!!!
You know it!
Price?
Came out around $50, but you can make it cheaper for sure.
No like for the cool ranch Doritos
Dude's kinda look like Stacy Peralta
If your thinking about building a ledge STOP! Stop thinking and start building!!!
Bruh that ledge is going to be so heavy
Vandalism 101
Feeling threatened? Move along Karen 😂
call it a bench when normies askWTF youre doing
