My EVL 18s are in a sealed box almost that same size and droppin low, shaking me. Old school base, you can feel old shcool base in your body more. The SPL of the ported boxes seems to just shake the vehicle more for some reason with less body feel. People tell me how much they can feel it when they are standing outside and I pull up near em. I got that skar 4500skv amp. 0 gauge. Lithiums. Its wierd, but if you can get sealed to drop low and you got a ton of power, that shyt is so gangster. Thats what the old gangsters did.
I tried to convince the wife that a pair of 15's or an 18 would do our CV trunk more justice than the double stroller. Gotta love all the room them trunks have tho.
That box looks to small. Your box needs to be about 10-12 cu. Ft to allow for speaker and port displacement . I would flip the box up and invert your woofers so it would give them a little more airspace and if your port towards the back you would probably get a lot more out of them.
They are initially for cranking...but they do offer great stability in a stereo setting like this...they have a great AH rating if they’re giving him solid voltage then that’s what it’s about
This is the setup I was looking to install in my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited. Could someone look up the specs for it and tell me if you think I’d be able to run this without any electrical upgrades?
There’s no way you’d be running these subs on a stock alt you’d kill your car if you go with a 250 amp alt you might need two of them but you’re gonna need a good car audio battery with 1/0 gauge wiring and upgrade your main battery ground
@@MichaelPlaysOnPC your still gonna need the Electrical upgrades.... (zero guage wires, high output alt, and at the very least a good second battery!) Reason why is Skar equipment is very power hungry! You can put those amps on a pair of those 18's but then you run risk of under powering them with not enough electrical which will lead to burning coils. Upgrade your electrical as much as possible before you run one of these amps or your gonna regret it. Besides, it's absolutely worth the upgrade!!! You'll be bangin harder than everyone around you!!
I ran a bxi 2610d on stock alt with just a yellowtop and had no dimming issues at all. I'd feel safe running 3500watts to the system on that car and it was a 93 bmw
I know you must know a bit about speakers and I dont but I have a skar 15" and was wondering are they supposed to have a kind of buzzing noise when they hit really hard? FYI I dont have a dust cap atm lol. Could that be why? Just a begginner and don't really know that much yet.
Dust caps stop dust and debris from getting in between the voice oils and the pole. If there is no dust cap then you might have debris in there causing your noise and eventually will damage the speaker
He wants to put them in a bigger box? Why? The recommended enclosure size for a 15 inch is 4.5 cubic feet so 9 cubic feet is the max they say to use. Idk. Your set up.
It’s not enough box space for 2 18s. “Technically it is” but if you want them to sound right, I wouldn’t do it. I would go with 2 15s in a nice big box with plenty of port area. I would go with the Skar VXF 15s instead of the EVL 15s though
@@Robert-jx8nr Anytime! Thanks for watching. And one more piece of advice, stay away from full bridged amplifiers like Taramps & etc. Only go with half bridged class D amps if your want optimal sound quality, especially on the lows
@@Robert-jx8nr Crescendo amps are really good. And the Skar SK amps are good as well. stay away from the Skar RP line of amps, unless you get the Skar RP 3500 or RP 4500. The other RP amps have terrible sound quality! But a Skar SK 4500 would power a pair of Skar VXF nicely! The VXF subs sound amazing, gets really low and loud at the same time
It’s probably your amp I’m running a taramps 5k on my EVL been doing it for about 5 days now seen some smoke come out lol but as far as a bottoming out noise? That only happened when I used an rp series skar amp.
420dportkid hmmmm... I mean that’s weird especially since that’s a pretty nice amp... this may sound stupid but are you using any bass boost on the amp? Mine did that when I was using bass boost
Exodia It sounds better when I adjusted the crossover & the subsonic filter so it wouldn’t hit the real lows. I’m not running the bass boost. I’m not over powering them. I’ve switched everything out except for the box. Speaker wire, rcas, headunit, everything & I still get the coil rub noise when I turn it up on the lows.
