The fact that, instead of raising the award in the air, they pulled Damar into their arms to comfort him through his tears speaks volumes for the humans on that stage. ❤

The way they surrounded him and embraced him made me shed tears. The way they were comforting him and holding him up in that moment was very emotional and so moving. A very beautiful display of empathy and humanity.

I want to just flat out say that the training staff did not just “do their job” the day Damar Hamlin passed- they saved the life of a man in front of over 60,000 people in Cincinnati and over 3,000,000 watching on television. They had to work under all that pressure and still saved Damar’s life- it has been so beautiful seeing Damar begin to become so outright thankful for everything, and he can play 1 game next year and he’ll still win Comeback Player of the Year, because no matter how bad you were previously, overcoming death is the greatest achievement

If anyone recalls the Bills training staff led the way in sideline treatment for players with severe spinal injuries. In 2007 when TE Kevin Everett was paralyzed during a game they saved his life. The Bills at the time were the only training staff in the NFL to be prepared with a sideline training staff to deal with such an injury. Everett was eventually able to walk again.

These service oriented people make me proud of our Country and the individuals that make it. In a time where our Country and world are struggling, Demar and the team of medical personal gave us all a moment to come together and pray together as one Nation under God. Watching Demar on stage with all of them putting a hand on him is an inspiring image for humanity. If we all worked to serve each other as they do everyday, our Country will be stronger, better, with a brighter future. Congratulations and thank you for serving humanity and equally thank you for all first responders and healthcare professional who work around the clock. This group represented an entire cohort of service minded people on national t.v. And is what is even more amazing is that there are millions just like them, doing similar life saving actions daily and go home with little recognition.

Then cried more when everyone gave him a standing ovation (which they stayed standing that whole time, which is paying some AWESOME respect). Helluvaman to walk away from a check and a game he trained his entire life for so that he could serve his country when compelled and called by his spirit. Damar's gratefulness was truly genuine and the dedication of medical staff and trainers who work everyday to make others lives better while being in "the shadows" is a noble act of service... ... the truth is those acts are all around us everyday... the bus driver, the teacher, the laborer, janitor, et cetera!
