  • Not our usual show this week, right now with only one topic on everyone’s mind it felt right to dedicate our entire video to discussing the incident that happened during Monday Night Football involving Bills Safety Damar Hamlin.
The thoughts and prayers from everyone here at New Heights are with Damar, his family, and everyone from the Bills and Bengals organizations.

In 2020 my then 22 yr old son was in a UTV accident. I got the call 12 hours after it happened. Initially I knew nothing other than he was in ICU, three hours away. He fractured 2 vertebrae and severed his spinal cord. He's a T9 paraplegic now. Knowing he was all alone that whole time and being so far away was the worst feeling as a mother. The not knowing was gut wrenching. While not the same as cardiac arrest, the unknown for a few days was terrifying. My God watch over Damar and his family.

I really appreciate you all doing this episode. I look forward to New Heights every week. I knew after MNF that your next episode couldn't be normal, but I just hoped you would put out an episode this week, anticipating it would be somber. It's good that you devoted the episode to Hamlin and the situation, gave us your own perspectives, and some insight into how the rest of the NFL is processing this. For all of us fans, though, an episode like this also helps us process our thoughts and emotions when you players try to put your thoughts and feelings into words, despite being vulnerable. I think it speaks volumes that you guys are relatable and are willing to connect with us, no matter the high or low of the situation. Love you guys.

Prayers for Demar and his family. My mom was a driver in NASCAR and hit the wall at 108 G’s and I was hours away watching live on tv…. It is the most terrifying, gut wrenching and helpless feeling in the world and I can only empathize with his mom that was there watching BC I personally know that feeling. I’m just so happy to see the out pouring of prayers and positivity for him and his family and wish him the best recovery ❤
