Yes. Seeing the pic of Tee Higgins walking with his arm around his mom leaving the stadium last night...my thoughts went to him and the hope he will not blame himself in anyway.
After seeing the Lawrence Taylor documentary and what he experienced after the Joe Theismann hit, it's essential to get Higgins the care he needs...
I feel like we as fans should let him know we’re with him as well and that no one’s blaming him for this cause it’s definitely not his fault
I lost 5 Sailors, Pilots, Aircrewmans, Hospital Corpsman in August 2021 out of San Diego. And let me tell you, it took us a month to kind of get back to work rhythm. Me and another guy were one of the last people to talked and helped them get dress before their flight. This stuff can traumatize Tee Higgins for the rest of his career. He's going to need a lot of mental therapy.

Waited for the game yesterday that ended with tragedy.
Shows how thin is the line between joy and dread when it comes to following sport. Because it is unpredictable.

Plus a lesson to me - signing up to first aid course first chance I get. To be able to act, to know how to help, how to react seeing people needing help.
Football 🏈 has a lot of fans outside United States and definitely it has been a shocking moment and today I have been thinking and sometimes praying for such guy that play for the team I have supported since 90’s… I really hope he can recover and have another opportunity in this world!!!
Thank you for including T Higgins. He must be feeling awful. Love the Gentleman from the Bengals side that stayed in that stadium after mostly everyone left with his “pray for Damar sign.” ❤ Praying for Damar. That was truly heartbreaking to witness. His poor mother. Lord keep him. 🙏

Shout out to the medical staff to get Hamlin the first aid he needed in time to revive his heart, and of course the medical staff in Cincinnati for doing everything they can to help him pull through.

The response by the medical staff in Cincy was second to none. Amazing job to do what needed done in those crucial seconds to keep him alive.
A really passionate and informative take, especially regarding all of us taking a look in the mirror and understanding that these are human beings and not just merely some outlet for our enjoyment. Continued prayers for the Hamlin family. And again thanks for putting it all into perspective.
Prayers up to Damar. Having played the game through high school and being friends with so many athletes in the league through my time in football this one was unprecedentingly terrifying. Hope to God he's gonna make it and be fine. 😭🙏

As a medical professional of 15 yrs, CPR is one thing. However, once electrical shock and intubation are initiated, that elevates the seriousness 10 fold. Praying for Hamlin, his family, friends, and both teams who were there for that scary event. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Being defibrillated or intubated does not increase the seriousness 10 fold. The fact that CPR is initiated is max seriousness. That means he didn’t have a pulse or breathing. Doesn’t elevate above that. Being defibrillated means there’s a fighting chance to convert him out of his arrhythmia. You don’t shock asytole (flat line). Odd statement Carlos
@@cardiovert5269 Tks for this. As a nurse, I was confused by this statement. More so because this is written by a supposed medical professional. Can u plz clarify what u practice and/or have 15 yrs experience in? As someone who was also previously intubated when I was put into an induced coma with CV, this doesn’t make any sense. Breathing tubes r damn near standard in the ICU to protect brain function while the body is hopefully healing. AED and “regular” CPR r one in the same. The heart has stopped. Period. Both r used to restart it, to get some type of rhythm back while continuing to manually assist in pumping blood throughout the body. The only diff is the AED increases chance of survival. It’s not less “serious” if one isn’t used. If available, it is ALWAYS used over continuous CPR. Either way, I just hope this young, top tier athlete fully recovers. I feel so much for his loved ones. 🙏🏽
Buffalo, as a city and team, has been through so much this year/season. Just when we think it couldn't get worse, something else happens. We are exhausted 😞 #3 🫶🏼
If Buffalo doesn’t make it to the SB this year, I hope Cincinnati does.

It’s happened in football (soccer) couple of times. Players like Fabrice Muamba, MV Foe, Christian Eriksen comes to mind. Praying for this young man and his family, horrible to see.
I watched that Denmark game live, and when I was watching MNF I immediately had flashbacks to that incident. It looked so similar with the players surrounding the Damar. I was just hoping the end result would be the same as Eriksen, who made a full recovery and is back playing, and not like the other two instances (I think one of them had brain damage, the other just never got back to playing)

Except for the usual minority of trolls, the vast majority of the football world reacted the way you'd hope they would. Respect to the teams, the coaches, and the fans. It couldn't have been easy to watch, and everyone handled it with class.

I was in West Hartford, CT and saw that Chuck Hughes play. He was walking back to the huddle and he just collapsed.
This is one of those situations I have always had lingering in the back of my mind.
To see it [well, rather listened to the broadcast] actually transpired left me in a shell. That was not a normal event, that was a shock to reality that human beings are not invulnerable. That is where these guys start thinking if it's all worth it?...
Just sad all around.

What took place is so rare some doctors have said you only read about it in text books. There is something like a millisecond window during a single heart of your heart. That this can happen.
@@imawdeeotherside its not *that* rare. It's happened at least twice that I know of, both times in hockey. Chris Pronger in 1998 and an Italian league player in the 90's (who sadly died).
@@AD-df5tm Just happened to Christian Eriksen at the Euro 2020 football tournament. He's a world known football player and you could literally watch live the medics using a defibrillator and giving him mouth to mouth. The teams got together 2 hours later and finished the match.
I was watching the Loyola game when Hank Gathers died. I remember Bo Kimble shot the first free throw in their next game with his left hand, that made me cry.

Agreed - im a lifelong bills fan and it seems odd that no one is talking about how terrible Higgins must be feeling. Obviously he’s not at fault but I’m sure he is hurting just a little different than anyone else. How is he doing?
