Prince is King. Prince was huge with Aussie fans also. He had his way of doing things and wouldn't let anyone tell him he couldn't. The same goes for his gigs. Everything was rehearsed to death so no-one put a foot wrong. Stars had to work to get our attention. Like Madonna. She was the most outspoken, independent woman of the '80s.

I don't think MJ is more popular than Prince i just personally think MJ is more popular in the pop realm. The kids of our generation that listen to Janelle Monae, Fka Twigs, Kimbra, Snow Allegra, Willow Smith, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar. I think that's the crowd that listens to Prince more, the crowd that listens to Drake, Taylor Swift, Beyonce probably listen to MJ more. At least that's my own personal social experience coming from Shibuya Japan & traveling with my parents. Just like my friends who only listen to heavy metal don't want to hear a second of pop music. It truly depends on the crowd you surround yourself by. Prince inspired Musicians, Michael inspired Pop Artists. They overlap as well but i think Prince to put it simply is Kendrick & Drake is Michael. They inspired two completely different worlds but they're just as powerful as one another.
That also doesn't count how Prince was black mailed from the industry for fighting against the machine & awakening artists to own their masters. Mainstream radio stations were told to stop playing his music & even artists were told not to mention Prince as his inspiration, when Prince was writing slave on his face. Just for those same radio stations to play Prince's music when he passed, how ironic is that? & yet through all of that, even if some people of my generation have maybe only heard Purple Rain, they still know the myth & legend that is Prince. Even when Prince was literally blocked by the machine in the late 90's. That shows you how Prince could not be stopped.

    People used to be fit.
A workout on stage every night.
He did it all in heels.
    That's natural moving/dancing while singing.
Mj had set moves he'd worked out and practiced to perfection before he hit the stage.
Not choreographed to the singers ability then they stop dancing to sing prob lip syncing cause they're breathing too heavily to sing and when they do the mic has built in autotune.
You will never get that now.
They need to see him playing guitar.

I miss the days of real music. That's why I really can't get into today's music. Now to break that "code", Gen Z hears....real music thinking we're saying their music just sucks. That's not what we mean at all. We come from a time when artists actually played instruments. Late Gen Y and Early Gen Z use sound boards, auto-tunes...etc. People can tell the difference between the sound of real instruments vs. synthesized. Real instruments will always be better. So that's real music, real talent (playing instruments which always included more than one), and using their real voices.

Just for you, here’s Sheila E’s rap: Said the Table to the Chair,
    'You can hardly be aware
How I suffer from the heat,
And from chilblains on my feet!
If we took a little walk,
We might have a little talk!
Pray let us take the air!'
Said the Table to the Chair.
Said the Chair unto the Table,
'Now you know we are not able!
    How foolishly you talk,
When you know we cannot walk!'
Said the Table with a sigh,
    'It can do no harm to try;
    I've as many legs as you;
Why can't we walk on two?'
So they both went slowly down,
    And walked about the town
    With a cheerful bumpy sound,
As they toddled round and round.
    And everybody cried,
As they hastened to their side,
'See! the Table and the Chair
Have come out to take the air!'
But, in going down an alley
To a castle in the valley,
    They completely lost their way,
    And wandered all the day
Till, to see them safely back,
    They paid a Ducky-quack,
And a Beetle, and a Mouse,
Who took them to their house.
Then they whispered to each other,
    'O delightful little brother!
What a lovely walk we've taken!
Let us dine on Beans and Bacon!'
So the Ducky and the leetle
    Browny-Mousy and the Beetle
Dined, and danced upon their heads
Till they toddled to their beds. 👌🏽🙏🏽💜

Prince was an incomparable genius, in the true sense. MJ paled in comparison (no pun intended) sorry.
Prince was visionary, and aside from his incredible vocal range and dance moves, he could learn any instrument within days (and played all of them on his studio recordings). He could find talent like SheilaE and wrote recognizable songs for other artists like Manic Monday for The Bangles. His artistic choices also purposely exposed corporatism in the music biz for the exploitation it is. What a man!

Why didn’t you introduce her to purple rain or when doves cry? Not a fan of the song you picked.

With all due respect never compare PRINCE 2 Michael. Prince was a genius that could literally make a cd all by himself. Michael called Prince when he needed help. Ya'll be blessed. #peaceandstaywild

Prince is immensely talented. A musical genius. For a change of pace, I'd like to suggest you to my favorite hard rock band of all time...Band-Maid. They are from Japan and have been around for over 10 years with over 120 songs. Although they don't speak much English they are keeping rock alive. They are also incredible singers, musicians and performers. Check out any of their live videos and you will not be disappointed. To start, I'd like to suggest Domination (live) for starters. ruclips.net/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/видео.htmlsi=1Fs51IDm7EFCelK9
