      Greetings and congratulations on your new purchase. There are several new cool features on your cooker which include: VST (variable smoke technology), LCD touchscreen interface, straight cooking grates, improved pellet removal, and ash removal just to highlight a few of the awesome improvements . I’m more than confident that you will enjoy cooking on your new Pit Boss. Keep em’ burning 🔥

    I was thinking of using foil in mine but my buddy said it messes with your temps big time?? I bought mine from Lowe’s last week and it has the 10 degree increments. So I guess I have the latest firmware.

    • @getjimmysbbq
      @getjimmysbbq  2 года назад

      What is up? I’m not sure what type of cooker your friend has but I find it hard to believe that a little tin foil will affect the temperature at all. I do know on the pro series 1, there was a device that you can purchase to help with that issue.

    • @spoilerwarning28
      @spoilerwarning28 2 года назад +1

      I don’t put foil on mine because I like the reverse seer option.

    • @getjimmysbbq

      What’s up? I do as well but I hate having to clean all of that burned on food and grease.

    get this pit boss 1150 or the grilla chimp?

    • @getjimmysbbq
      @getjimmysbbq  2 года назад

      lol 😂, I like that but all jokes a side. I highly recommend to anyone, to check the features and benefits of any cooker that you plan to buy and compare. Then go with the one that excites you the most or offers the biggest bang for your buck. You will have much more appreciation for purchase.

    Where did you get that "Bucket Head"? Did it damage your pellets?

    • @getjimmysbbq
      @getjimmysbbq  2 года назад

      Hey John, I found the “Bucket Head” at The Home Depot. No, I don’t think the pellets are damaged, if so it is very very minimal. No more than the gravity release on the cooker. For me it is all about saving time. Thank you John for taking the time to check us out and hey, let’s keep em’ burning 🔥

    Have you found out what you have to do to get the update. I just bought mine yesterday. I have not put it together yet so not sure if mine will need update. I’m sure it will

    • @getjimmysbbq
      @getjimmysbbq  3 года назад

      What is up? The process is really easy. Make sure you register your cooker, that will speed up the process. Just call in and make sure you have all of your information and Pit Boss will send you out a new controller. They were out when I called. I’m still waiting.

    • @rcbuilds991
      @rcbuilds991 3 года назад

      Oh wow so you don’t have to send in your controller anymore for the update. They are sending out brand new ones?

    • @getjimmysbbq
      @getjimmysbbq  3 года назад +1

      Yep! They are sending out all new controllers. They were out when I called in. They were expecting new ones by end of April or early May. I was told it may be a couple of weeks afterwards before the mine is sent out.

    I see you foil your drip tray. Are you a fan of the slide and sear? That's why I got rid of the Loredo and my Classic, On the Loredo and the pro vertical the controller just wasn't reliable for me.

    • @getjimmysbbq
      @getjimmysbbq  2 года назад +1

      What’s up John? Oh yes sir, I love that feature but hate having to scrub that drip pan. I had purchased a “ Sear Daddy” for old pellet cooker. I use the “Sear Daddy” when doing burgers/dogs/sausages/steaks. It offers a huge cooking area.

    Get rid of that grate brush! Eat a piece of that metal you’re going to have problems. When I clean my out boss I put a handful of pellets in the burn pot quicker fire up.
