(oh wait, this is getting oddly specific with the last half...), anyways his fish get some exciting entertainment and have Peter play next to them, plus they get to watch his other strange and whacky devices, they get an entertaining life (I know what gives me purpose is creating, without it I’d go mental pretty fast, I’d be the luckiest fish ever if I was in Peter’s workshop!

I'd be super cautious with putting resin prints with fish, it's nasty stuff and inside the sub it wouldn't be fully cured. Perfect for tiny models though! Peopoly make a tough resin you might wanna try.

re: the vpn explanation in the beginning
you make it sound like there is no encryption when you use the internet normally.
Just wanted to say that your (passwords and stuff) isn't easily intercepted, since the web is mostly encrypted these days (https).
While VPNs do add another layer of encryption, that usefully encrypts metadata for a lot of stuff - it is not as bad as you make it seem :)
(I use a vpn and would urge anyone else to do the same)
It's pretty ridiculous the number of disingenuous (at best) ad reads I've seen for nordvpn from YT creators....I hope Peter at least got that big $$$ for it.

It would only be a short if a path through the water became the path of least resistance.
Since water is not conductive, there would have to be enough dissolved solids in the water to create a conductive bridge.
And when it's under power, even salt water has too high resistance in comparison to the wiring and soldered connections, to pass enough current to be considered a short.
@@Zomby_Woof well, one would think fish tank water would be fairly conductive. Plus electricity doesnt really take the path of least resistance, but takes all of the reasonable paths in different proportions according to resistance (hence ground loops are a thing)

FYI... every HTTPS webpage encrypts the data on its own. The VPN basically just hides the addresses you are visiting..
If your suffering range issues, I wonder if an IR illuminator and a mosfet would be worth experimenting with. I also quite like the idea of smallest sub with the largest controller.

Back around 2013 'airhogs' sold a "dive master velocity" which was a 3 channel IR mini submarine.It came in at 3" long, 0.840" wide, 1.140" tall. Tiny single prop at rear, TINY stern thruster, motorized buoyancy tank at bottom of hull, charge port is fwd top, red led spotlight. Had a lipo battery, binary control, and they would blow the buoyancy tank and surface after 5 min of no use.
Build a boat with a fish feder, somthing with a belt system would be cool!

Up to what voltage motors would you be able to use before having to worry about waterproofing the motors? Does the environment where you use the sub (salt water/distilled water) affect this?
Most motors will be ruined by running them in water. The main question is how long it takes. Brushless motors will last longer, but it's pretty easy to waterproof and pressure compensate motors. (especially if you have access to a 3d printer)

Additionally it is simply not true that every personal data can be viewed by others. Modern browsers and almost every website out there has implemented a TLS handshake () which is a pretty good way to encrypt your data.
What expressVPN (and you @PeterStripol) does is spreading false information and making people insecure...

if you dont like resin, get 5 minute epoxy. it bonds to almost anything and hardens tough and slightly elastic, rather than brittle.
