      Did that back in 1990 with a group of friends and local flyers. We don't have it as good as Americans, so the entire construction was supervised by authorities.

    MAYBE you can shift your weight in the direction of the turn to make a more coordinated turn ?
    What is that electric motor you are using ? That round thing behind the prop is like a flywheel ?

    Peter: I watched some of your other videos before I found this one-like the huge 34-ft. wingspan plane being attacked by a swarm of angry gnats, and the two P-47s ack-acked by fireworks, and I thought, "OK, he likes to build stuff and destroy it. Entertaining, I guess...but not exactly serious engineering." WRONG!! Listen bro', this build is nothing short of awesome. All that materials experience you gained in your other builds was put to great use here. You're doing real engineering. Good on ya! 😎

So to say that not much has changed is just not true..Soon people in houses will be making f-13s while the armies and companys will be making flying saucers. :-)

      nowadays? people have always been making airplanes at home.
      wood plane kit builds good sir look em up. usually old retired aviation guys build them, sometimes younger guys.
      eventually i'd like to build a 3/4 scale replica p-51 mustang. just the plans are around $1000

    Really like the convergence of 2 of my favorite concepts, keep it simple and change only what you need to make it work. We can make it pretty later. Be nice to know where you got the styrofoam made.

      I worked one summer down in Fla making "Walk in Coolers" for Convenience stores, around Lakeland, Plant City. I would think that Home Depot or Lowes would be able to get it. That or marine supply place. I mean thats how they make surfboards, isnt it?

    What is the maximum height you have reached?

      @@ChucksSEADnDEAD the first part of my comment was a joke. The deal with most ultra lights is that the cruise speed and landing speed are not that far apart. I cant remember the model, but I remember one where the cruise speed was 40 and the landing speed was 25.

      Not Really crazy, he's a model builder, so he builds using standard construction practices and designs. Full size plane plans are shrunk down to build models, and small models of full size aircraft are built to test designs. Most plans scale up and down easily, and Peter builds to FAA rules and guidelines for homebuilt aircraft.

      Boeing can't make electric planes because they make huge planes either for cargo or passengers and sadly electric isn't as powerful as jet fuel

      The energy potency is much higher in gas than a battery. If you magically turn all the power from a battery into it's equivalent in gas, it would be much less. You can take much less room and weight, or you can go electric. However, I do wonder why they don't use solar panels on the large planes as they would be right up there with the sun as they cruise above the clouds. That might help IDK but it's still not allot and it's an inconsistent variable. Just trust the experts.

    I'm looking at 70 next year. But I really enjoyed watching this. It reminds me how much fun flying ultra lights (weedhopper's, rally II, even a bi-wing, etc on our family farm with my brothers has been. You learn, have fun, and expand your knowledge. Great video, descriptions, and your thought process was all great. I wish you well in all your endeavors. I feel renewed that your generation does have some practical thinkers out there.
