In Washington, President Donald Trump is observing his first Independence Day in office by hosting a White House picnic for military families, followed by a fireworks viewing event for military families and staffers.
For President Donald Trump's first Independence Day in office, he and first lady Melania Trump were hosting a picnic for military families at the White House, followed by a fireworks viewing for military families and staffers. The capital city's fireworks festivities, aired on PBS, are to include performances by The Beach Boys, The Four Tops, country musicians Kellie Pickler and Trace Adkins, and two characters who fought for independence in a galaxy far, far away -- "Star Wars" droids R2-D2 and C-3PO. This year marks the movie's 40th anniversary.
But before the picnic, Trump kicked off his holiday at his golf club in Virginia. The president arrived at the club in Sterling just before 10 a.m. and spent nearly four hours there before returning to the White House. Aides did not answer questions about whether he was golfing.

I'm so grateful as an American. I can't change other people's beliefs on how they feel about our President, but I can tell you that it is truly a great day to be an American. I pray for TRUMP everyday because he's going into battle with some very evil people. This whole "Libs are sore over the loss of the election" thing is a misguided notion. Its not that they "lost" that their mad, its that the majority of Hillary supporters, Bernie supporters, former Trump supporters, Independents, etc. are genuinely concerned about the future of the US and ALL Americans; not just themselves and losing an election. They want the best for Trump supporters as well.

Let me start by saying I was neither a Hillary nor a Trump supporter. I inherently do not trust politicians as a whole and find no problem in holding them to task for their promises. Having said that, I found neither of these candidates to stand for anything other than the fact that they both wanted to hold the highest office in the land. However, since Hillary did not become president I will explain why I found it difficult to support Trump. My dislike for him goes back long, long before he ever ran for president. I am a small business man. After looking into Trump's four bankruptcies years ago, I was very disappointed to discover that he did not screw over one bank or other big business in which he was tied to, as you would expect. Who the brunt of his bankruptcies hurt was small businessmen such as myself. He renegotiated terms of his failures with banks and other large businesses at the expense of men and women such as me and you. This is a matter of public record. People that he owed 20-40 or $80,000 to were left by the wayside to go out of business all because they trusted the Trump name while he still took millions reorganizing his businesses and paid the banks. He called those bankruptcies smart - I call it dishonest. And so would you if you were in one of those business people's place. For him to say he is for the little guy flies in the face of his history. His past has shown us who he is. Why should we not believe it? The great healthcare plan that he promoted while campaigning is nowhere to be found. And he doesn't seem to have a grasp on the plans the Republicans are proposing. Mark my words he will say their plan is great’ today, but if it falls out of favor with the country, he will blame the Senate down the road. He makes promises without a plan and then points a finger when things go wrong. To my knowledge he has not proposed one specific solution to anything concerning the economy, healthcare or veterans. He only tells us of a problem and who’s to blame for it. Did Hillary and Bill screw people over? Most probably. But since we don’t have to deal with them anymore, I worry about who our future is tied to. No one wants to see him succeed more than me because I would like to retire soon and any derailment in the government, either a bad health plan, another banking crisis or a bad tax plan causing an economic downturn would probably mean I never get to in this lifetime. I have seen enough people like Trump to know a BSer by now and he sure seems like one to me. But I pray I’m wrong.
