Wow. I loaned my dad $10k in 2009 for his construction business and year after year he refused to repay me, saying he didn't have it. Yet he was buying new stuff & even a new truck. My mom even condoned his behavior! Finally in 2016 I desperately needed $5k as a down deposit on a house I wanted to purchase. He said he didn't have the money. Wow...that showed me right there. Never, EVER again. BTW, I was able to STILL purchase my home. Amen. And WHOA! God has blessed me and keeps blessing me!

I know what you mean with envious relatives. My mom had to raise two children (both daughters) alone.(with a salary as a nurse.) Her sisters, were always looking down at my sister and I.(because we didn't have a family, according to them) However, when my sister and I were doing great at school ( I finished high school with 99.3% and my sister with 92.17%) and my cousins barely passed with a 60 and something % , they started showing their true face. I will have a Master's degree in genetic engineering and will carry on with studying medicine afterwards. My sister got accepted to study psychology and is doing great. My cousins dropped out of high school and got married with men who don't lose any chance to put them down, but my ''aunts'' show concern for the fact that both I (25) and my sister (19) are not yet married or engaged.

Whew! I was just talking about this. This topic is emotional for me! I remember how it is to have a crowd and how God will separate you from the ones you have "history" with. It's a pinch at times and a hard pill to swallow to go into the fire knowing your support is from ONLY God. I stopped to look at her products and I actually purchase some. During our conversation some other black women walked by and she looked at me and told me she has heard black women say I'm not buying anything from her basically because they didn't want her to come up or they didn't want to give their money to her and I was very shocked to hear that I was like really, wow. We sure dont Love and support each other which is sad. This is more prominent in the Black community

I have dealt with this down to the tee over the past 2 years since my brand started growing and a lot of legendary rappers starting co-signing my brand. 90% of my family too jealous to support me but I have a lot of customers and social media friends that buy from me and keep me growing. People really are sick and self-hating. I have people copying my products and business model. My own niece started the exact same kind of crafts business and she's not even good at it. Never been into art a day in her life but she wanted the shine I get so bad that she did it anyway. Just foul and envious! But God got me and I won't let anyone or anything stop me.

TONY! You are always on point. Ya know some years back when I was visiting family in NC went to the mall and there was a Black woman selling her products at one of the kiosks. I stopped to look at her products and I actually purchase some. During our conversation some other black women walked by and she looked at me and told me she has heard black women say I'm not buying anything from her basically because they didn't want her to come up or they didn't want to give their money to her and I was very shocked to hear that I was like really, wow. We sure dont Love and support each other which is sad. This is more prominent in the Black community
Perfect timing for this! With so many people trying to get back on their feet everyone is coming with a story and a hand stretched out. We all have the ability to get back up in life, but you have to want it for yourself first. God will bless a person that positions(him/ herself) to get somewhere in life. You have no idea how often these thoughts go through my head and how much it bothers me. Afraid for one another to be successful. Somebody said people want you to be successful but not too successful. I argue that some don't want you to be successful at all! In my experience, when you are at the bottom, people want to keep you there. Own worst enemy!

As a child of God who is still a baby in the Faith for a little less than a year coming out of a Wicca family I'm trying to find the equilibrium. Never been attracted to the idea of making good money for materialistic non sense . God put this on your heart to share today because He knows I needed to hear this! I have dealt with this down to the tee over the past 2 years since my brand started growing and a lot of legendary rappers starting co-signing my brand. 90% of my family too jealous to support me but I have a lot of customers and social media friends that buy from me and keep me growing. People really are sick and self-hating. I have people copying my products and business model. My own niece started the exact same kind of crafts business and she's not even good at it. Never been into art a day in her life but she wanted the shine I get so bad that she did it anyway. Just foul and envious! But God got me and I won't let anyone or anything stop me.

You give us an abundance of relationship advice but another vital aspect of our romantic relationships are the other relationships we have around us so thank you for this! I don’t know about anyone else but you spoke so much truth especially when it comes to most black families. Because of the lack we’ve had culturally through generations many family members and friends will assume you owe them if you are more financially stable than they are. We have to do better, but again I thank you for being transparent with us. We can always count on you to be REAL💜

I have a brother that’s very successful in advertising; he was supposed to look over something for me weeks ago - I reminded him twice, now I need it. I’ve watched your “toxic family” video a lot. Adding this one to the favorites. My family is so ridiculous I’ve had to tell some of them to just leave me alone. Screenshots of personal messages , the “girl i heard “ “but don’t tell nobody”. So much death in our family lately yet they’re still gossiping. Few people call me but always ask about me because i left for college and never came back. I felt like one relative couldn’t wait for me to get pregnant... well keep waiting. Only time they will see me on social media is to promote my business , meaning they will likely unfollow me (i sure hope so).
