    What a great talent and a wonderful humble person he was. We loved him so much!
    Also you needed to mention his red boots. He made it a massive fashion trend in Turkey, every kid in the neighborhood would play football with red boots just because Okocha did :)

    He was one of those very few players that made others around them better... players like Maradona, Ronaldinho and Zidane. He himself confessed that he just enjoyed football and didn't take it as seriously as others did. If only he took it half as serious as C. Ronaldo, everyone would still be calling him one of the GOATS, unfortunately, by the time he saw the seriousness of it, he was already approaching 30 plus. Still one of my favorite players of all time... if you didn't watch him play, you wouldn't understand.

    I think after watching this video, I realized that when a club buys Jay Jay, they get a big boost but not the trophy. He is the player that balances up a squad but the club needs to buy the other player to score the goals and make them win the trophies. He had a Ronaldo like impact on all clubs he went to with his transfers at the later stages of his career. If Bolton had better strikers, they would have won a trophy. PSG needed a better striker than Anelka.

    • @crackerjack9691
      @crackerjack9691 2 года назад +7

      Yep you are right about that...he was a very creative midfielder who, no doubt, could score goals some times but then, the clubs needed to have known they should have out and out strikers if they realistically wanted to win trophies...JJ should not be saddled with the responsibility of creating the plays and scoring all the goals at the same time. Too much of an ask IMO.

      Won an Afcon in 94,Olympics in 96 and if Nigeria had not been banned cos of politics,we would have won both 96 n 98 Afcons cup back to back....no African team came close to Super Eagles at the time. By 2000,the team was aging,Yekini ,Uche,Keshi,Rufai had all retired. Still we lost on penalties to Cameroon with Kanu,okocha,Oliseh,Finding,ikpeba etc.....The 90s was a glorious footballing time for the eagles and Okocha would have benefitted more from that team with more laurels to show.

    Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you the most skillful, the best dribbler and best trickster in the history of professional football, the legendary Jay Jay Okocha. The guy who inspired Ronaldinho to the style of play he is known globally for, during their time at PSG in the early 2000's. True football lovers are grateful to Okocha ( and Ronaldinho) for the beauty he brought to the game.

    Great! For me Okocha is the greatest footballer and football entertainer ever. I am yet to see his kind. He may not have won leagues and world cups, but he was a reason to watch a match till the end and a consolation to any fans... Whenever Nigeria lost a match, we were consoled that we were entertained and it was the same during his clubs' engagements. In fact, interest was shifted from winning to the momentary enjoyment and the best way to catch FUN. I personally questioned his Audacity to retire without consulting us, HIS FANS AND LOVERS. He still owes us.

  • @celsojorgesaraivadossantos7917

    People these days only talk about Ronaldinho Gaúcho or Ronaldo Fénomeno but Okacha was also a genius with a ball on his feet. Generation of 2000 talks about CR7 and Messi or Mbappe and Haaland but they never watched the football on late 80s and 90s decade. It was far better in terms of quantity of players with quality and very compectitive than it is today.
