Not a Honda guy. But what strikes me is how BIG the Civic is compared to its older 90s brother! I feel the Civic went up when the fantastic Accord was discontinued!
You guys beat the car review game by a long mile. THIS is the channel where real car enthusiasts ought to come to, not least to avoid Carwow's cringeworthy puns and boring "banter" (sic). Keep up the good work! P.s. do you have a Lexus ES300 review per chance? Thanks!

Absolutely can't wait for this to start turning up on the used market, hopefully it'll be there by the time I'm looking for something, this seems like my perfect car - very efficient, still fast enough (180 kph on the autobahn isn't particularly fast but it's enough to swim along quite nicely), and roomy enough but not a stupid crossover/SUV. And not a diesel, which would only go and get some DPF problems from the constant short-ish city journeys
Second hand values are currently higher than new ! In the U.K. they’ve closed the order book but even if you get on the book, they said delivery is over 12 months or more 😬
This is by far the best channel for car reviews, its the one i come too. In terms of this car, this is the one on my very short, short list. The one thing i would really have liked to see, and i feel is a real easy fix for Honda, is to fit a usb to the interior mirror and the rear roof lining near the top of the back window.......... for the easy fitment of a dash-cam ! Its such a mistake not to do this, i have seen it in other cars and the fitting of a dash-cam is made so easy. Great looking car though.
Nice car .Best review on YT . Well done. I don’t want/like suv and crossovers so will certainly look at one of these . But I also like the Mazda 3 and it’s a lot cheaper especially if you get a month or two old second hand one
I'll be buying a used one of these for my retirement in a few years' time I think (unless I go for the Jazz). It does everything I want a car to do and looks good and should be very reliable.
All new cars are over priced but spec. for spec. the Honda Civic is no more expensive than an inferior Golf. Also the Civic will be more reliable and offer superior tech for the money.
This can be a Great Honda comeback. Honda Civic became more like a Bmw 3 series and Audi A4 category. Honda now only should improve its sporty design, bit more power and luxury. Great work Honda 👍👍
Absolutely! Honda seems to be making some exciting moves with the new Civic. What specific features and upgrades would you like to see from Honda in the future?
Thanks for the detailed review. Looking forward to getting the sedan version (I hope we also are graced with the "Advanced" trim level - especially with the adjustable driver's lumbar support) in the States later this year.
Thank you for the vote of confidence! While we may not have a billion subscribers just yet, we're thrilled to have dedicated viewers like you who appreciate our content.
The US market does not get panoramic roof, rear AC vents, nor lumbar support. I think that if Acura didn’t exist, we would get a much nicer Honda range.
Fantastic to hear! We'd advise getting the ball rolling now to avoid unwanted delays. One of our Vehicle Specialists would be more than happy to assist. Fill-in this quick form and we'll get in touch: bit.ly/39YHCml
Yes, the new Honda Civic E features flush-fitting door handles, contributing to its sleek and modern design. These handles blend seamlessly into the bodywork when not in use, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the vehicle. What are your thoughts on this feature?
Same comment seems to come up all the time - Honda cars have very poor noise insulation, too much road and wind noise. Why would anyone bother in 2024?
I’m sure this is quite an interesting car for those that care but most people who care will probably not ultimately end up buying such a soporific car. Honda have long lost the plot in my opinion. Completely lost their mojo, some time early this Century. Are they still a desirable brand as they were once upon a time, often being at the cutting edge of performance engineering technology and comparable to BMW quality and customer aspiration?
Interesting comment. No idea if you have test driven this car, but i thought the performance was good, excellent handling and comprehensive interior. I test drove the Advance model, getting mine next month. This is coming from a current FK8 owner.
@@greymark420 Unfortunately they’re, and Honda’s overall sales performance in the UK and Europe says it all. The brand is in deep trouble with many of its franchise dealers being unsustainable as a result. They just do not make compelling cars that make any particular demographic want a Honda, in this case a Civic any longer. It could be anything, and brands and models like offered by Kia and Hyundai and even the Chinese MG are eating them for lunch.
@@hedydd2 All manufacturers are having a bad time. Can you point me to the evidence that Honda is in a worse situation than other manufacturers. As for not making compelling cars, my dealership cannot keep up with demand. And certainly in the USA customers are prepared to pay way over the price for an FL5 and that of course is their biggest market.
I would not call a BMW a quality product. They appeared 31st in the OSV reliability ratings. Which magazine only rates them as "average" for reliability and customer service. Previous generations of Civic scored well in reliability and customer service surveys. I would have this Civic over any BMW and sleep well at night knowing I purchased a well thought out reliable car. NB You can't say that Honda does not offer cutting edge technology.! The new Civic offers state of the art cutting edge technology and even German car lover Matt Watson from CARWOW rated it the best car in its class.
@@phil8437 As an owner of a CR-V and my son in law a Civic and shortly being in the market for a new car to replace a business hire Kia Sorento, I can assure you that the active safety systems as standard on Honda are not up there with the best. Honda quality and reliability has almost always been good and I do not dispute that, but the performance and driving experience, even the user interfaces of their mainstream current offering has fallen way behind rivals. This and the limited range of vehicles offered in Europe has led to their sales numbers and market share decline drastically over the years. The sales figures says it all. In the US they have a slightly bigger range of cars and a more loyal following. As a result they are holding their own better in that region. Here in the UK neither their current CR-V nor Civic, which account for the vast majority of their sales, have hit the mark and few aspire to their anaemic Atkins cycle coupled to electric motor hybrid or the CVT transmissions. They are dead in the water.

Not for me. It sounds like a lot of quotations from Honda's press handouts.

Yes. These are very good cars. Good to drive, amazing tech, well built and will prove to be reliable long term.
How do but it's early days yet too say these are reliable long term
Reliability is only proved after many years and miles. Or do people change cars after less than 3 miles so reliability should not be a problem?
Best review ever. Just facts and no nonsense talk.

Incredible how much these have risen in price in 18 months, the Advance with anything other than the grey paint is now well over £40,000.

This is one of the only cars where the exterior actually looks older than the predecessor! IMO of course. Inside is much better looking though

47:40 Over 50% depreciation after just 3 years and 20,000 miles? In the current economy? Yeah nah
I had an ehev HRV in 18 months I only lost £700.00 when I traded it for the Civic.

Actually its sub 7 seconds to 60mph. Not 7.8 sec like they advertise for some dumb reason.

No willy or fart jokes? Call this a car review....I'm off back to Carwow!
Good car but Toyota have a much better warranty
No. Will not.
car taxi
In America, we still get the pointless regular ICE version.
Pointless? It goes 130mph and you can actually tune it. There are a lot more trims/body styles offered. The hybrid will be here soon for 2024.
