Scoring before you laminate is a major hack on this project for sure. Older video and die but I still love this die. Great job on your journal videos ;) Saw your other ones too.
Soo cute! In case you were still wondering what the heck the leather paper is that she used, it is called Kraftex. Basically you can sew with, cut it like paper, stamp it, emboss it, and it is super tuff.
Thank you thank you thank you for doing this video. I've seen a few people haul this die and have been waiting for someone to share how it works and looks put together. I appreciate you taking the time, looking forward to seeing the inserts too.
Thank you so much for taking the time to show us exactly how to use this die! Like you, I also want to use my Designer Paper and wasn’t sure how to accomplish that. Looking very forward to seeing your other tutorials! I ordered the inserts die set also. Thanks again!
Love watching your process using the die with designer paper! I'm excited to try it myself :) The reason I didn't put score marks in the design was to make it useable with any kind of leather. If you score into leather then it causes the leather to rip over time... yikes! But as you've shown it's not hard to add your own score line if using paper which works fantastic as well. Thanks for sharing your process, I look forward to seeing more of what you make :)
Katelyn Lizardi thank you Katelyn. I didn't know that about the scoring. I'm glad to have the ability to use the die with leather materials or paper. It's an amazing and fun die collections and one I'll use and treasure always. Thank you again!
Hi Katelyn. I have several of your dies and I love them!! I have a few questions. How do I make paper pages for the traveler's notebooks? Do I use one of the insert dies? I'm really confused. Please I need help! I have both the pocket traveler's notebook die and the traveler's notebook inserts dies. I can't figure out how to make pages for the little notebooks. Please help! Thank you....
Thank you so much! She had put together a video, laminating each side of the cover separately and then gluing them together with E6000 glue (the smell of that glue never goes away!). This is much, much better!! Great job!
LOL! Thank you Kate. I tried a couple of ways to work with the die and I wasn't feeling busting out high strength high stink adhesives. lol One thing that I find helpful when laminating is to run the cover through on one side a couple times but flip it over each time so you're running the underneath side on top and vice versa. I think that helps with getting a good seal.
I just got this die set too. I ❤it. And yes I had to score the lines when laminating it, but it came out adorable.looking forward to your insert video. Love you paper! Tfs
I wonder if it would cut thru vinyl? It’s nice to see so many products for pocket size! This is my most favorite and functional planner. It comes everywhere with me.tfs. I subscribed
Craftygirl 63 Hi it doesn't score the spine. The woman who designed the die said she did that intentionally because it's better when using the die with leather materials not to score the spine.
Are there scorelines in the die? If so, you might be able to get them to score the paper when you run it through your Big Shot if you use a "crease pad."
Hi Kate. Katelyn Lizardi, the designer of the die, says she did not include the score marks in this particular die because when using on leather, the score marks would have caused the leather to rip over time. But it's easy to create your own score marks when using designer paper. It's such a great die.
THANK YOU!!! I've been waiting for a tutorial, I received my Dies a couple days ago, I've been cutting and playing, but wasn't sure how to put it all together, I am very visual and you helped me so much. Thank you for your time.
I think I got them on the sizzix web site. I got them a long time ago and never used them but they are super nice. There are a couple of different size options but I think I ordered - Sizzix Accessory - Storage Envelopes, 5 1/4" x 6 1/4", 3 Pack for Framelits/Texture Fades/Texture Trades.
Hi Cristi. The die that makes the pocket notebook cover is a Sizzix Bigz L die number 662467. The coordinating die set that makes inserts for the pocket notebook cover is a Sizzix Thinlets die set number 662466. I hope this helps! You'll love them both. I do!
Had come and watch your tutorial after Erica’s happy share on her channel! Thank you for sharing!

The bigz dies are steel rule dies, they'll cut thicker materials so there's no way to do something as delicate as score.
I can only find a thinlet that matches this, on Amazon. Is that the correct die?
Hi Cristi. The die that makes the pocket notebook cover is a Sizzix Bigz L die number 662467. The coordinating die set that makes inserts for the pocket notebook cover is a Sizzix Thinlets die set number 662466. I hope this helps! You'll love them both. I do!
Thank you for the information. I finally found the the bigz l die!
