Caution! Rubber bands may dry out and break. I've used rubber bands in the past. When I go back months or years later - the rubber bands have turned brittle and broken... I prefer washi tape, masking tape, duct tape, or waxed thread for bookbinding.
I'm wondering if you could ask Eileen Hull directly. She has a Facebook page that you could ask her that question. Thanks for watching. Eileen is super helpful.
Which die are you comparing it to? There is a new Passport Scoreboard which is a little different but gives you a similar effect. www.scrapbook.com/store/sz-660331.html
That link you gave me looks even bigger and might be even better, as it says 6" X 13" which is more like a full-size for a journal (if it comes out not too much smaller than the die size). I think I must have forgotten the link in my earlier comment. Here it is; www.amazon.com/Sizzix-ScoreBoards-XL-Die-Eileen/dp/B004W8UOIO/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1495732269&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=Scoreboard+Sizzix+Bigz+XL+Box+Die Is this the same one you're demonstrating or is it the other one you showed being sold at Scrapbooking.com? I'm looking for a die as close as possible to 6" X 9". If it's bigger that will work. I just don't want it smaller than that if I can get it. Taller than wide; I notice some of the book dies are elongated horizontally, which I don't want.
Humm...we do not have that die in stock at the moment. Is it a new die that has just been released? If so, it is on order and we will be carrying it soon.
It might be new. I'm not sure, but it looks like it only creates a 5 X 6 book, not 6 X 9, so it's not quite what I thought. I like the one you linked to better, as it's longer vertically than horizontally. Also I just saw this one; www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/card/5371219.html I'm not sure what size it is but the orientation is what I'm looking for. I really like the scored spine too! It gives it a very professional look.
Unfortunately, since this is an older video, it appears the die is very difficult to come by now. You may be able to find it somewhere else on the internet. Hope this helps!
Wow love the little journal album
