Living in a very dry area, I know all about the piles left when you tie a bale. My solution is to back up a few feet before dumping the bale. This way it picks up what it can from what has fallen out, or at least spreads it so it doesn't kill anything underneath. Another way is to turn out of your swath and just make a big circle, dumping just before reentering the swath. This method saves dry clutches.
That really looks like our tropical grasses here. Stuff grows fast but is mostly water, cattle do love it though ! Why was wrapping no good? Too much labor or it didn't work well?
You mentioned feeding 4.5 foot bales, if you had a 6 foot baler would you make 4x6s for feeding? I prefer making 6 footers to feed. 1/2 as many to collect and feed out. Selling is a different story tho.
Yes I have a 6 foot Baler I’d probably make the Bales a little bit shy a 6 foot the reason I’m not making five footers for feeding is I’m having difficulty with my bail size adjustment on my Baler so once I fix that I’ll probably be back to making for 5 foot Bales for Feeding I make much smaller for selling because most of my Round Bales go to the horse market and I make a lot more money on a 4 foot bail and I’m also making quite a few bales about 44 to 46 inch diameter
Very informative! This a really good information on how to bale that.
Nice looking feed!

I like the idea about just keep driving. Always concerned about the clutches for sure. I make sure to take it out of gear when I’m tying.

I think it is a tropical grass. Way too expensive to wrap.
