When I was a kid my mom told me it was Meatloaf that sang this song and I've been so confused since then 😂 Despite the fact that it is, in fact, not Meatloaf, it's still an awesome song.
I started listening to the Who when I was twelve and that line freaked me out for a long time XD As an adult though, I think it's the best line in the song lol
The thing is, people always ask are you a Beatles or a Stones person? I've always answered The Who! Both of those bands didn't have the same caliber drummer, bass player, or guitar player that The Who had. Vocals are contested, however, as I'll take Paul McCartney's tone over Roger Daultry. The Beatles were great songwriters but they couldn't rock like The Who. The Stones just suck. Really. They suck!
I had to look this song up. Heard it on the radio and was like who sings this stupid song? This song blows. The lyrics suck, the voice singing sucks, and the music is not that great either. Thumbs down for me.
Nobody will replace Moon, but I still think the Face Dances was a good album and the drums on it are superb. I kinda feel that with this kind of writing Moon may have faultered around a lot. Like when you listen to the strucures and drumming on Quadrophenia you can hear Moon making mistakes all over the place, but with the less structured stuff of WN, or Tommy he shined. I think Kenney worked out very well for this album since he was a very technical drummer.
My favourite ever WHO song, always brilliant played loud and never good live. In a period of turmoil in the band, they come out with this absolute gem.
Thumbs up if The Newsroom brought you here, not Bella. Only Pete Townsend could rhyme 'visa' with 'easier'. remember the who is better than you better you bet
A Geezer was and old term for Nose, so a Neon light is a Red nose from drinking too much. After the newsroom episode. I had to listen again this song :)
Keith for all his faults was a genius...bad husband yes....bad dad yes...but I believe he was a star....the ultimate sad clown...he wasn't ment to be for too long.
@yefool I know whatcha mean, I'm 16 and if anyone my age knows about The Who they only know the hits, WGFA, My Generation and the likes, but they dont know much about the deeper stuff, like Getting In Tune, Love Is Coming Down, Another Tricky Day, or You Better You Bet
For a late era Who song this is ok. It is one that suffers from mediocre drumming, not that Kenny Jones was a bad drummer(handcuffed). This song could have benefited from a live, young Moon.
ahh yes coolcows9990 i love this song to it rocks and i have a system in my car and this song sounds real good in it and i like the mini guitar at 3:27 well thanks 4 posting the video with the lyrics keep rockin peace out man lmao :-]
This band has so much attitude and raw power, such an influence on rock music. WHATEVER PEOPLE THINK OF THE JONES ERA THIS IS A CLASSIC. remember the who is better than you better you bet
Sung this in my car hundreds of times. Discovering how badly I butchered many lyrics.
u r not the only one hehhehehe
I think T-Rex is his guitar but I'm probably wrong on that.
@@doolittlegeorge T-Rex was a band.
@@bryan2601 A band signed to Track Records, a Who label no less. Got around copyright, I guess.
This is a song about life..
when i say i love you you say you better you bet when i say i need you you say you better you bet
I always wondered how Keith would have played it
that 1 person is next!!!lol
fun fact. this was the second song to air a music video on mtv ever
I wish there was an MTV early days vault. I want to see that stuff from the start.
Wikipedia said it was the 4th video. They've been wrong before though.
Jessica Miller the fourth
I love The Who...listening to them is one of the many things that make life worth living!
I rarely comment on RUclips but I gotta say this is a kickass song! When I heard it on the radio I didn't realise The Who sang it until I googled it.
When I was a kid my mom told me it was Meatloaf that sang this song and I've been so confused since then 😂 Despite the fact that it is, in fact, not Meatloaf, it's still an awesome song.
I just heard this song today GOD SEND
Surprising, as life often is :)
It features in “The Newsroom” - a fantastic TV drama.
It’s the bees’ knees.
The best Who song, without Moon. Imho.
This band has so much attitude and raw power, such an influence on rock music.
Who the hell is Bella Thorne? What the hell is "The Newsroom?"
The Who brought me here.
SnarlyCharly Nice profile picture I love that album
I'm the one "The Newsroom brought me here" 😂
Nice pic luv the album gold band
Edit: good*
Space Cantalope oop didn’t notice u typed that too lol
I love The Who...they have amazing talent.
Everybody should listen to old T.Rex, especially 'Monolith', from the Electric Warrior album.
I played this to my BF a few years back. It became a regular on our bedroom playlist for obvious reasons. 😈
This song makes me so happy (; Thanks The Who, for making my day every day!
77,000 views? Why is it only showing the times I've watched this?
Lol 😆😅
Pete Townsend Is a Bad Ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I been wearing crazy clothes and I look pretty crappy sometimes....ha ha.
"You welcome me with open arms and open legs" just classic!
I started listening to the Who when I was twelve and that line freaked me out for a long time XD As an adult though, I think it's the best line in the song lol
"You welcome me with open arms and open legs" just classic!
That hook tho
Knowing I'm so eager to fight can't make letting me in any easier...
A Geezer was and old term for Nose, so a Neon light is a Red nose from drinking too much.
I thought the line was “neon light for a visa” ?
After the newsroom episode. I had to listen again this song :)
Knowing I'm so eager to fight can't make letting me in any easier...
The Who Rocks 🔥🏆⭐
I called you on the telephone, my voice too rough from cigarettes. my favorite line
What does he mean by "feeble minded axes"?
Fucking right
62T-bird Man maybe hes refrencing "love will cut you like a knife" and saying axes as in 3 week relationships. I dont know.
To make it rhyme and sound better probably means Exes not axes as only one letter difference
@@tonysantamaria19 Lame sounding guitar players with weak lyrics?
Who the f**k is old T rex 😳🤔
That hook tho
remember the who is better than you better you bet
Pete is famous as a lyricist. Still, he's underrated.
Knowing I'm so eager to fight can't make letting me in any easier...
Who the fuck is bella? i came here for the music not bella.
It should say ,"I showed up late one night with a neon light for a "Geezer" not "Visa" so very simple!!!
But it does sound like he says visa ?
It is visa.
Newsroom sent me here...I'm with you Ms Riley!

I love all their old stuff. Tommy was great. I think Eminence Front, You Better You Bet and yes, Squeeze Box are three of my favorites.
Only Pete Townsend could rhyme 'visa' with 'easier'.
Lol true
Brilliant , love this to bits ,especially the humming bass line throughout
The Ox was such an awesome bassist! I don't think there's ever been one quite like him.
I had to look this song up. Heard it on the radio and was like who sings this stupid song? This song blows. The lyrics suck, the voice singing sucks, and the music is not that great either. Thumbs down for me.
One of the big 5 from England at this time, the Beatles, Stones, Zepplen, Floyd, and the who. And all are like my rope top 10, so great.
When I was a kid my granny found these lyrics I wrote down and thought it was a letter to a boy and told my mom😩
Thanks for posting...especially with the lyrics..love gettin drunk and singing along with this...thanks again.
I drink too old T-Rex, too. "21st Century Boy" is my jam.
One of their Best. Thanks for the post!!!
THE WHO!

Song came out a single right after the riverfront incident in Cincinnati
When I say I love the who, you say you better!

Classic tune. From the first to last note...just great music.
I love this song when it comes on I can't stop singing to it..

Kenney got a bit slated for this album but the drums on this track are wonderful.

Altough this song has a completely diffrent vibe without Keith moon this is probably one of the who's greatest

Who magic spring 1981. What a magical song indeed in this year of 2020. 😉
I keep wondering if this was a one too many tune for the Quadrophenia album.
Thumbs up if The Newsroom brought you here, not Bella.
