How to add a Solo style Escape Pod to your Lego Millennium Falcon 75105

- Here is a tutorial on how to make a Shuttle / Escape Pod for your Lego 75105 Millennium Falcon! The main new feature of the Kessel Run Millenium Falcon 75212 is the front end escape pod. I don't have it in me to buy another 170$ Falcon set but was interested in seeing what the old Millennium Falcon from the Original Trilogy and the Sequels would have looked like if it "still" had an Escape pod. So, with about 15$ worth of parts, I put one together and have filmed a bit of a tutorial on how to build it. I've got a small version for the Microfighter Millennium Falcon 75193 coming soon!

Really great. The color scheme is so much better on this model than the Kessel run one. This, combined with the modifications from Alternate Bricks, and you have a very nice millenium falcon :) Thank you.

Excellent Add On Build!!! I followed your step by step tutorial and made some slight Mods for pieces I didn't have and I was able to convert 75105 to a close approximation to the Kessel Run 75212. Thanks.

The falcon is a YT series correlion freighter, it’s supposed to hold cargo crates in the mandibles but Lando callrisian added an escape pod instead and instead of using the falcon as a freighter, he painted it nicely and used it as a leisure ship, in solo the escape pod get jettisoned to save the ship...the falcon has inbuilt escape pods too

Wingetom2 At the time, I had not seen the movie and I was uncertain of what the pod even was. If it was meant to be how the freighters all come from the factory, then it would seem like a violation of what was already established in other movies. But even before seeing the movie it dawned on me that this was likely going to be considered an aftermarket Mod made by Lando. At that point, I was a lot more accepting of it and realized how it fits in my model of the Star Wars universe. So, mostly, it was just that this didn't sit well with me at first since I was Used to the Falcon having a cut out... I've updated my mind on it since then but it's too late to change the audio in the video. Thanks for paying attention!

i built the escape pod!! but i haave the 2019 one and i could not fit it with the two rows of the four by one pieces where the escape pod goes so i had to change your version of it. but i still love it!

The mandibles are for holding cargo specially designed to be transported by those freighters, that’s also why the cockpit is on the side of the freighter so the cargo wouldn’t be in front of the cockpit blocking the pilot(‘s) view(s) SO STOP PUTTING STUFF IN THERE THATS NOT MEANT TO BE THERE ruclips.net/video/8shenO9mViY/видео.html go to 2:04 and watch

Nice video, in my country at the moment the Force Awakens is like 260 dollars and the Kessell Run 200dollars.But i wanted to modify the tunnels on the sides to put a Escape Pod from the set "Droids Escape Pod" i havent bought the Falcone but i want to see your opinion if thats possible :)
Oh ya, since the force awakens ship is older and off the market, I could see it being the more expensive one now. As for tuneos and an escape pod, I definitely think you can modify the ship to have an escape pod and a hatch. Just might take some good tinkering. I wish you luck.

Nathan S You can source the parts you don't have at Bricklink.com Sometimes it takes some sluething to find a lot of parts at the same store. You could start by making an off color protype with the parts you have to test things out too.

Is there an alternative option for the rail pieces? I don’t have any of those
Hmmm, I bet you could build up the outter wall 2 studs thick, and leave a gap in the outer wall and use tiles and plates to get the gap to snug around the rails. Maybe use those panel pieces for the inner wall layer to keep it thin... Just ideas.

Nifty. I made this video before I saw the movie and basically after seeing the official Lego set come out. I wanted the pod, but didn't want to buy a new whole falcon set. Either way, yes, I could change the graphic, but I don't have the raw files anymore. I appreciate your interest and comment!

It wont work on the 75257 2019 model. I just built this and tried. The rails on the falcon are too close together. Going to disassemble a little and try a fix tomorrow
