  • Crossovers are all the rage these days. How does the BMW X5 45e stack up to the competition?
    Engine Adventures strives to explore and test the AWD and 4WD systems of all crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. To do this we test vehicles in real world environments in a way that allows viewers to cross shop and explore any vehicle they may be interested in learning about.
    New videos every Friday at 6:30 A.M. MST and occasionally on Wednesdays.

    Probably best video showing the Arctic Grey Metallic. Thanks!

    This was a very good review. I am absorbing as much info as possible before taking delivery of my '22 Carbon Black Xdrive 45e in the next few weeks. One thing I wanted to touch on was the fact that I also do not like the semi-autonomous driving and decided not to get the driving pro package for that reason. I'm trading my '21 Subaru Outback partly because of this(also, I HATE the CVT transmission). Anyway, for those that want less intrusive mitigation, in the center of the dash, next to the hazard light button, there is a button with car and lighted circle around it. If you hold that button down, it turns off all the auto driving functions. If you want full control of your driving, this is very convenient without having to search through menus on the display. Anyway, great work and can't wait to get my new, and first BMW. Thanks alot!

    Great review.
    Did the front seats have cooling feature?
    Also what kind of real world ev range could one expect?

      @EngineAdventures  2 года назад

      I don't believe this one had the ventilated front seats. BMW says it has a 30 Mike range, and I was pretty close to that. Obviously driving style and environment play a huge role, but I remember with just me in the crossover, and driving mildly, that I was at 29 miles before the gas engine turned on. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Very informative video, did you take on the long hill climb?

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  2 года назад +3

      Thanks Gio! I did, haven't finished editing the video yet, but I know the offroad stuff was more limited due to he massive rims (I don't want to damage anything and I have in the past). I did put it on the steep hill though.

    Press and hold the button on the dash with car and circle around it to turn off driver assistance features, super easy

    Do u like the looks of this, I am torn between this, the GLE and the Q7?

      I prefer the looks of the GLE out of these 3 vehicles. I haven't driven the Audi yet, but I think you'd be happy with either the Mercedes or BMW as far as driving feel goes.

      The BMW X5 drives a lot better than Mercedes GLE.
      Haven’t looked into Q7..

    The plastic LATCH covers seem like they would be a nuisance to put back in if you’re switching car seats in and out.

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  2 года назад

      Yeah certainly a pain for me, but I guess if you're leaving them in then you don't have to worry about it.

      I think they are made to just take out if you are using a car seat. Don't need the cover if you are utilizing anyway.

    do you feel the bumps in comfort mode?

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  2 года назад

      You can certainly tell a difference in the different drive modes, but I'd say even comfort is a tiny bit stiff.

      Sequoia TRD Pro, then 4 Runner TRD Pro, I'd have to think about it more for the next ones in line

    Thourogh review for a wonderful car! Enjoyed driving the gas M50i, but this iteration seems to be a step in the right direction.

      I didn't mean for the video to come off that way. BMW makes some of the best driving vehicles I've tested, but there is always room for improvement.
