- Hi guys! We're back again with another Fury update... This week it is time to get the car ready to put some white paint on the roof and fenders! Very happy to be finally getting some colour on the Fury; blue is next! Dean stopped in too, to help sand and bring us up to speed on his LTD Winter Beater... Too bad it broke while it was here, but we'll sort it out!
Thanks so much to everyone who ordered a "My Classic Tire" T-shirt! The shirts are all shipped now! Thanks again for the support for our show; we are flattered that you would help keep it going! We'll do another shirt soon, featuring another one of our "classics" on the lot here!

Hi everyone at CWM.
Ain't it a hoot what comes aboot?
The Fury gets some paint.
The agents applaud, the doggie marauds
Around what is and ain't.
Brothers-in-arms who do no harm
And have but one desire...
To build them cars and find them bars
With a goddamn welcome fire.

Editor's note: Well, Wifey caught a break this week as I was enticed up to Chicago for something passing for business. Me and my boy did our best to drive up the stock price on The Quiet Man Irish Single Malt, while The Poet kept a low profile. I guess he ain't inspired unless Wifey is after his ass. Anybody who would willingly live in that frozen-ass place would call Alberta a goddamn sunny beach front.
Nice opening melody for Fracine.
Frankers Boots© ..... Yo furr Sno! ;
CWM is awesome for so many reasons but one of the best is I have never heard the words "Build" or "$150,000 car" or "LS swap" here.
Hard to imagine what would become of this thing when you pulled it out of that horse corral. I thought it was just going to be another piece of art for the property but it turned into one of the most extensive restorations that i've ever seen. And certainly one of the most fun to watch!
He said it there and then, though, that the car was going to get done.
And here we are, almost at the end of this mind-bending trip.
@@valle3452 Well a lot of things get made to run and drive. maybe get new floor pans, etc.. But doing a gigantic splice and dice from 3 cars is not your standard restoration. This one is in a class of its own.
Hi Shane. Me too. Never more than a very cool very rusty yard ornament. Boy was i wrong!
1 million people: "my car won't start."
Deano: "how do you shut this mother F#*KER OFF???!"
Frankers is a walking, wagging tack cloth.
The scene from 19:45 is absolute gold. "She's SO jealous of the car because I pet the car all day.... Frankers doesn't need paint"
Love the screwdriver key on the LTDean. A friend got the key stuck in his SAAB, back in the late '70s. Since no one knew about their floor mounted keys back then he just cut the bottom from a styrofoam coffee cup, filled it with cottonballs, and painted them to look like coffee. He drove that car for years without ever taking the ignition key out when he parked. Locked the door with a spare.
Haha, best idea ever, with that fake coffee! Definitely an underrated comment ;-D
Today I have a VAG Group car, with the KESSY keyless entry & start system. So easy to steal these cars, with 2 people and a radio relay, one of them at your door, scanning for the keyless fob in your pocket on the clothes hanger. Just Google for it :-(
SAAB oddly you have to put the gearshifter in reverse to get the key out
@@ralfgottfridhansson3127 I worked in a SAAB dealership in the early '80s. The stuck key was a common site. I owned a '75 99 EMS at the time. No column lock, but it had to be parked with reverse engaged to take out the key.
@@ralfgottfridhansson3127 Reverse then serves as a mandatory parking brake.
I thought I was the only one who says "excuse me" to a dog.
We'll finally get to see what the ole girl looked like new in a few weeks. Just wonderful. Saw some of our friends on the Hagerty site mentioning you with their Buick tear-down. Maybe the next restore could be the Buick (hoping). Gotta say that the long journey with the 60 Plymouth has be en worth every minute (and much better than a daily beats).
Hi. I think Hagerty's just jealous!
@@dukeallen432 Considering the Hagerty site has 1.1 million subscribers and the video with the Buick teardown has 147 thousand views, any mention of CWM in the comments section is a plus for this channel.
Curb grinder 500"s LOL. Only on a "DEAN" car.
Man that white looks fantastic. Its been a long time coming. So much sanding, its such a huge car. I cant wait to see the blue. Glad youre keeping the faux spare tire cover. It fits in with the outrageous amount of stainless trim. What a beauty shes going to be. Thanks again!
Hey Wayne! Glad you like it boss! Having fun now, for sure... Cheers from everyone here!
I just spend the last two days on a Fury Marathon, all 26 Videos. First video was the one that brought me to this channel ( I LOVE Fury's) I cant believe how long its taken, or how far its come. You sir are true artist and make me proud to be a Rural Canadian and wish I had Friends like yours. I've been checking back multiple times throughout the day in anticipation of this video...from field to paint in under two years.
Cheers from New Brunswick
Yes, it's hard to find good reliable help.
Hell yeah!
All credit goes to your skills....not only in body repair but paintwork too....
That fury will be the most beautiful car ever....
Well done mate....
Big shout from the uk
Your dog frankers is absolutely fantastic I hope you’re appreciating her you only get one dog that’s that good I know I lost my pal. you love her every day and never ever take her for granted she is the best friend you’ll ever have
OMG! Just finished watching and You ARE THANKING US for watching? Your are a MAESTRO at rebuilds! And I love the color-same as my 1957 Plymouth Belvedere!-again, thank you!!
I purchased 1960 Plymouth Fury 2dr for $60 when I was 15 yrs old back in 1972. It was my first car. I found the car offered for sale by privet party in my home town Santa Monica, California. I was so happy to see the garage door open and hear it start up, it ran well. My older brother drove it home as I did not have my learners permit yet. She needed tires, the interior was in great shape, as I remember the body was also very good. After spending three days rubbing out the paint with compound by hand, the car shined like a new dime. I was so proud of it.
This whole project makes the Coronation of Elizabeth seem like an Impulse.
I cant believe the Craftsmanship unfolding in front of my eyes. It is incredible ,
and I have been due to the work I did in Many "Upper Crust" body shops, but never
anything like this. The explanation regarding the rear side panel, now I wish I could feel those lines . This has become "Art" with a capital A. Thanks all,
Bas.
I have been watching seen the day you pulled the Fury out of the horsesh*t bog and started with a little tidying.
An amazing astonishing journey of a labor of love, friendship, humor and car repair knowledge. You are the man Scott
WoW
You should be very proud of yourself! It looks amazing! All those late night/early mornings...so worth it! Glad you took us all on the journey! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Hugs to Frankers for being a good girl through all this! She's a hoot!🐶
The Fury is a thing of beauty. I have really enjoyed watching the renovations you have done on "The Old Girl". I have to agree with everyone who left comments that its been fun watching you work on her. I will keep tuning in
You guys make my week. Thanks for sharing. Maybe a new record for the most baked Dean we have seen. God bless him !
Amazing progress. It’s crazy looking back on a restoration when you get to paint and reassembly, sometimes you wonder how you got through it all! The answer is “you just do it”. Thanks for the great videos, you provide a weekly hour of meditation.
Who knew? We know now. What a project! The hum of the room, goes with the creamy white.
Looking like the most beautiful “Frankenstein” project.
Dean, the one friend that all the other friends look out for, and take care of.
Your perception of form, contours and blending is astounding .I love and envy your knowledge . I want to be an agent apprentice at 71 years old. I had to stop the video to comment. This is like the "super bowl" of enginuity.
Just think all this hard work will be worth it when you have Dean presenting this on the lawn at Pebble Beach in August, I can see it now, Dean casually smoking a dart from the My Classic Darts, all the while showing the great rubber direct from My Classic Tire to the crowd that is mesmerized by his casual elegance.
Excellent job. Amazing you upload every Saturday. Great dog. Great car. Great friends. Your videos, channel and attitudes are refreshing and make me look forward to every lazy Saturday morning I spend watching them. Kudos and congrats and may all the good vibes and attention that will inevitably come your way from this lead to new and wonderful avenues for you to pursue. Salutations from Ireland.
Hey, thanks for the kind words and for watching this stuff... Cheers!
I have loved watching every step of this car(s) being brought back from the dead. The white is beautiful Scott. I hope Frankers is getting a kickback she steals the show every time the camera is pointed in her direction. ☮️
"The edge has been taken off....but that's our specialty".
Seeing it painted is so moving almost as much as my first kiss,Great Paint job...👍
I hope Dean Called his Mom and told her he was sleeping over! LOL!
Love Frankers: "No Chairs...doesn't move...I'm having a nap"
You accomplished an unimaginable amount of restoration in a very short period of time. Just amazing! Thanks for inspiring!
Saturday-at spa watch cwm fury on cel phone.
Saturday evening stream cwm fury on television.
Best Saturday ever!!!
ahhhhhh , thats better, saturdays are not the same without CWM in the house
Can't wait to see you hop in the Fury for a chips run.
Anticipation!!!! This Fury doesn't know how lucky it is. One, to be save from certain long term decomposition or two from shredding crushing for scrap, only to be used as a part of a Chinese toaster oven. Nope it got a reprieve, in fact we have the DNA from multiple cars. This classic needs to go in a a place of special esteem, and I really don't know what that is. Great job Cold War Motors.
You Guys Rock! A 1960's Plymouth Fury Two - Tone Blue and white. Your Skills are at 100%.That car will turn heads. What a FUN Project,We like Cold War Motors Show.Give Franker's a Treat.CHEERS
That white is already popping. That's the start of something fine right there. I'm so happy you're finally at this stage in the car.
Wow Scott I'm getting so excited to think about you showing a before and after on this classic I can't stand it.
You really have brought this beauty back from the scrap yard . Can't wait for the next episode. Cheers from Florida.
Hello frankers. 🐩👍
No matter what you say you are building a show car. Not a trailer queen but a car that will hold her own against others. 🍻 here's to everyone who made this journey possible🍻
Well I was up at 5.30 but the show wasn't on yet. I had to content myself with other 'Not So Good' channels while I waited. Finally it was on and I could eat my breakfast while enjoying the highlight of my week. It's amazing how much this show gets into your blood. I think it's because it's a 'No Bullshit' it is what it is sort of thing that you can really relate to. A pragmatic Canadian 'can do' attitude maybe. Keep it up Scott and agents.
You, must not be from Canada, since I am, do Canadians have a 'can do' attitude? I guess I ask because I grew up here and don't really notice these things.
@@crushingvanessa3277 Yes, I think you Canadians have a lot of similaritys with us Aussies. We like to work hard and we like to party hard and talk rubbish the same as you guys. The English are more problem makers than problem solvers by comparison to both of our countries..
@@bossdog1480 I see what you're saying now. Seems it could be true.
Work hard, get her done! Party hard!
Thank YOU Scott, and all the agents too!
I had the week off from work so i went back and watched the fury from the beginning.you should be very proud .when its done you can say . whos crazy now ? lol. b.t.w. Jay Leno called the spare tire cover a toilet seat . must be hard to sit on at 60 miles an hour .Your videos are the best part of my weekend .thanks 👍
It's long and tedious, like Ben Hur. That's comedy gold, Jerry. GOLD!
We want to thank you for letting us follow the process....
Only great friends would be out on a cold night working on a winter beater. I wish I had some pals like you guys!
Frankers takes her role as dust remover very seriously :). Brilliant work on the Fury
Dean-O, 79 LTD survivor here. That's just the Level 1 switch breakdown. Level 2 is the steering column catching fire because the sliding block contact point setup gets hot from resistance due to the greasy goo buildup in it. You should practice your hit the ground and roll moving car exit this week.
The fury looks amazing and it's hard to believe how far she's come. Most ppl I know buy a car project and work super hard on the thing initially only to see fade away. Your commitment to the project is truly amazing!!
So happy to have had the opportunity to experience the transformation of the Fury! I don't watch many videos more than once but I look forward to watching this series again and any future episodes of CWM, thank you!
I'll never be able to afford a 40k $$$$ plus classic car restoration but watching it happen in real time on CWM is the next best thing.
I've been a follower for a while, I live in San Francisco now, but grew up in Buffalo NY, and can relate to the snow and cold.
I come online to see all of your friends and feel a kinship too, and can't wait to visit my acquired friends.
Im retired now but have worked on Engineering projects Globally as a corporate Automation Engineer, so i appreciate your candor and knowledge.
I guess what draws me is your restoration of the Fury - I drove a 1958 Plymouth Savoy, while attending College in Vermont.
Hello from Mke and Annmarie ! Looking great Scott ! It's been a long journey ! You'll be driving her by spring ! Licks from the puppies, Gunner and Izzy ! It's looking looking like 1960 again !
More outstanding work on the Fury .
Love Dean , no coil , no coil and then looks at the coil wire and laughs !!! Glad he slept on the couch , didn’t really think he’d drive home . Your good friend !!
"Screw driver mode" .... way better than that off-on-push switch we kept in store for this kinda winter beaters: no search for a place to easily put it, no drilling in winterbrittle plastic, no wire extensions. Only thing would be the notorious police curiosity in case of a paper-check 😂
I have said it before, always great entertainment when Dean arrives
Fantastic colours! Cream and mid blue - it really reminds me of late 1950s seaaide holidays...icecream!
Winter- bah! Nice opening shot. The Fury looks great thus far. You've completely understood Frankers and her jealousy. Take good care of your baby. I like the LTD interior blue color. Glad Dean stayed overnight at your house.
Fury is coming along nicely! Its metamorphosis has been amazing! Hey, Dean, if you drive your LTD down here to the Arizona desert, I'll give you $200.00 for it!! CASH!!
New to this site. At 74yo my 1st car was a '60 Fury convertible. Fins were 'out' so it only cost $275; in '65. Found in the glove compartment the original owners. Called & they begged me NOT to buy it! A 'lemon' he & his sons bought for the wife. Bought it anyway, and drove it for 38T miles - NO problems. Must have fixed everything wrong. Sold it in '68 for $100 to a guy up the street as a 2nd car. His grandchildren LOVED it and he gave it to them. It might still be around: it was always loved. I moved on with more money to a new '69 GTO convertible-gas hog but a thrill to drive!-later cars not worth mentioning. But in my senior years, the Fury & GTO: I was a lucky man!
I remember seeing this car on/in the ground when you took ownership...l thought "what a shame - there's just too much that needs to be done here"...this car's looking "factory" now, from what l can see - nice going
Big Thank you to all you guys, I laughed my ass off tonight with the Dean escapades.
Totally Stoked to see some paint going on the Baby.
And Scott You got my vote for the Tele Tubby painting outfit.
After seeing Scott Sanding at Warp speed, i decided my Coffee just aint doing it no more.
As always guys, Thanks for the great vids and entertainment, keep on Rockin.
That very smart fine..Dog is the Star of the show...That's what we like to see at youtube good clean content....You got most of it all....Thanks from youtube...! PS that color is the very one l like...Beautiful stuff...!
An extensive and intensive/monumental project of resurrecting a '60 Plymouth Fury. That involved major body surgery to boot. So good to see the paint going on her, a milestone for sure, on the road to completion. A LONG road but in the end, I'm sure a fulfilling and satisfying one. Looking forward, as I'm sure everyone is, to seeing the blue paint application!
I am so impressed. . The body work is top notch. Would never have known that this was spliced together from 2 different Cars. Except for having been with the build from day 1.👍👍
This has been a long voyage to bring this Fury back from certain death to a new life, it's certainly looking wonderful now.
I'm glad I had my dusk mask by my chair. It was getting A little hazy in here of course a beer also as I always drink with you guys.
Extraordinary build.
Frankers is SUCH a sweetiepie! The ice cream white was such a wonderful, positively edible landmark.
"Ars est celare artem". You really bring this statement into being. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! Yes, the best bodywork is the work you do not know was done...Cheers!
The way the door latch just clicks in!
Nicer than new cars, rivals luxury cars.
mY PET HATE people who slam car doors It must be TUFF thing.Little things count in the long run. Adam
@@adamheazlett1179 I had a 66 Imp. before and one friend would always slam the door. I told him one day I spent a half hour adjusting it "so it would close better" He tried it nicely and remarked how good it worked, I didn't actually do anything to it. It worked.
This station is amazing and you make the world a better place. Thanks!
Been watching way before this car. I find painting the most gratifying part of a restoration. That Fury is AWESOME! So glad you saved it. Seeing Dean's winter beater brings back memories of my 81 Country Squire. I put over 300,000 trouble free miles on that wagon.
At 18:46, and totally unrelated, Frankers' "Sonnet on Car Upholstery, 6th Movement", reminded me of my son's male German Shepherd, and that dog's "series of assignations" with my son's 'genuine' leather beanbag chair. My son was quite careful to clean the chair before even thinking about sitting on/in it. We realized that the chair, and the dog, were quite the couple, after our son brought the chair into the den for movie night, and parked his carcass in/on it.
Within 5 minutes, the dog let out a low key, closed mouth grumble, fully expecting the boy to vacate the chair. After five minutes, my son made no motion whatsoever, so the dog challenged in brinkmanship - by lifting his right leg and soaking my son's hair, ear, right arm, and bag full of M&M's. BTW, M&M's may melt in your mouth, and not in your hands; however, dog urine seems to have an effect which would give Willie Wonka nightmares...
Dean is hoot to have around. Car is looking better than factory. This has been a hell of a journey so far. I've only been watching for one year.
OH BOY!!! Been waiting all week!
Thanks Scott! Frankers too. and all your agents!
Hi there! Back in 1960 I was living in Reno, Nevada, and bought a 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury, probably the best vehicle I ever owned. As I understand it, the Sport Fury's were assembled on a special line and had a lot of hand assembly - every panel fit perfectly, and it had a lot of little extras, including a plaque on the front of the glovebox that said "This car made especially for" and then my name. It had swivel seats, a great idea!, a gasoline heater, which always worked perfectly, remote control exterior mirrors, air conditioning, and self-dimming interior rear-view mirror. It was a white 2 door hardtop, and had the fake spare-tire on the trunk lid. The interior was red. You can see a picture of one just like it on Richard Carpenter's website - He and sister Karen had one just like it, and he still has his. Thanks for the great memories!
Another great video, Scott - wouldn't be a good week-end without a CWM update.
I saw that you uploaded this video last night and I was excited but I didn't want to watch it because it was late and I was tired. I wanted to really be able to enjoy it so I waited till this morning to watch it. So glad I did, I look forward each week to see the progress being made of the '60 Plymouth. I've watched this project from the beginning and it's been an amazing trip. My grandfather owned one just like yours, same color and all. I think I was about 14 when he let me drive it down an old country road. I'm so glad your're keeping the toilet bowl on the trunk. Thanks so much for all the great entertainment. You're my favorite YouiTube Channel.
Enjoyed this episode soooo much , The Franky Franks Show just gets better and better
I saw the Lotus at a parts store in the west end yesterday. Paint looked awesome, not to mention it was nice to see a completed car! Keep up the good work!!
As I watch your incredible progress I often think back to the early instalments in which you’re crawling around in the dirt and the gravel drilling welds with a flashlight.
Haha! Yeah, I am glad to be well past that part of this little touchup job! Cheers from me and Frankers...
I spent the better part of the afternoon watching other CWM episodes. I was just about to start on the Peugeot 604 #4 when this video popped up.
Man this is so great to see come together. I remember these as a kid, I would have been ten years old in 1960 growing up in Milwaukee, these MoPar's had simply disintegrated by the time I started driving. This is why this restoration is so great, well there are many reasons.
The attention to detail, the shear tenacity to achieve a resolve!! I am not sure if this is how things normally get done but hats off to THE master Scott.
This is all very exciting THANK YOU
Francine is really the center of attention all throughout.:)
I have been following you guys all the way thru these builds and this has been so incredibly amazing to watch how you have brought the Fury back to this point. Kudos to you and your band of Merry men and Frankers. Received the Classic Tire shirt and a decal that I have put on my winter beater and all around driver. Thanks for your explanations and walking us thru what you do. Go Canada!
wow Scott hard to think that POS you pulled out of the horse corral would become my favorite you tube to watch with all the other stuff you have going on I'm blown away that it's been two years and you got the finish in sight. three cars to save one that is so cool to see happen, that was a hell of a lot of splicing going on then the making the quarter that in it's self was just a work of art IMO.
I am completely amazed due to the fact you are not using any filler and or bondo!!!! I'm 45 years old and I have never seen a car recieve that much metal work and not get a shit ton of bondo....WOW!
Oh, I'm using filler on the car for sure; just trying not to use too much or make the whole car out of it...Cheers!
That paint is absolutely gorgeous. This car truly is greater than the sum of it's parts.
I can picture Dean wearing one of those retractable cable key rings that custodians use with his car key screwdriver attached.
Superb work, Scott. This is the most amazing restoration (is it a restoration) I have ever seen. Your skills are amazing. I love how Frankers has taken Stella's role so well, a real keeping of the faith. She is such a nice, loved dog.
Fury looks awesome with the white paint. She is coming along and is looking whole. Still love your craftsmanship. Love the fix on Dean's car with starting with the screwdriver! Keep it up! :)!
Easily the best automotive channel on the Tube! Educational and entertaining to the max! I wait with baited breath for the next episode.
When you get it finally finished, you might want to consider putting together some sort of compilation video with bits from every episode
Dean slept on the couch lol im glad he made that call
Of course Frankers hid the screwdriver.
I wouldn't want to try and explain the screwdriver if I got pulled over either.
As I am going to a wing and a prayer on my move to Atlanta from Colton Ca I am happy to see this car get done. My problem is with air shocks and new axle bearings in a 2002 F150 and 2160 miles with too much weight! I am happy the Plymouth is coming along, gives me hope things will turn out in the positive in my project,a new life! Hey have Dean pray for me! I'll use the CWM "T" shirt on the move I just got! Should go good with this damn crazy thing I am doing! Please everybody pray I make it and all goes well, I'll do the same for ya all!
Love this Fury series! Congratulations on getting it to this point. I love your choice of that beautiful soft oyster white. I can't imagine the amount of work and time you've invested in that car, but it sure will be worth it! Can't wait to see the blue go on next.
More great update footage on the Fury, really looking mint. So much fun with the Agents, especially the "travels with Dean in a LTD". Let's not forget on CWM Frankers is the star not the cars!
The new white paint looks fantastic!! I can't wait to see the blue!!!
again, Scott... just wow!! i can't WAIT till you get to drive it!!!!
Great job Scott, the Fury is nearing the finish line and her return to glory. You are a true craftsman and patriot, keep up the good work my friend and fellow agents. Your friends from Fort Lauderdale Florida USA
That is the EXACT color of white that I imagined! You have good taste sir!
Really enjoy watching you get fury back on the road again.. Dean is the Best!
