You are clearly the right person to have this Plymouth. I have a lot of respect for a person who beats his own repair panels out of sheet metal. That is art.

I have worked in the car business my entire life. I once had the pleasure of working with a self taught panel beater and observing the artistry that it takes to produce the repair panels that you make. As I said to my friend Dave, I will say to you. You are an artist with a hammer. It is an enormous talent to be able to take a flat piece of sheet metal and make a quarter panel (or parts there of) out of it. I hope your friend w/ the expensive cars, and bikes appreciates your talents. I do like the fact that he is a Trump fan. God bless! Give Frankers some pets for me. I remember Stella. I treasure her memory.

I am old enough to remember when these cars first hit the dealership, (Yeah I know; an old fart chiming in.) Even before I was old enough to drive I saw art in these big hunks of steel and could not wait to see the changes from one year to the next. It does my heart good to see you saving another one from the graveyard and not turning it into a trailer queen. Thanks for all that you do and sharing it with us. I too always look forward to the next video from Cold War Motors.

I have been watching only the first half. Making this in one piece requires masterclass skills that you have and I will never reach.
Now that our bodyshop was burnt to the ground and all the surviving equipment left with the last guys that ran the shop I do not have any equipment left to work on things like that. My dad used to have the largest collection of high class dollies for building special pieces I have ever seen. About 25 of them!
Now someone stole my last toolbox and I am left even without metalscissors. This week I should start on a very hard task of building a complicated curved corner of an oldie with curved "eyebrows". Still looking for some rudimentary equipment to work with. Your channel is the very best out there and you inspire me to collect my fading energy to work on my projects sitting and waiting! Keep up your great work! Thanks for sharing all this with us!

      @waynegouin939 5 лет назад +3

I hope this inspires you. It sounds like youve had a damn rough stretch, hope it gets better for you. Just keep at it and it will get better. Keeping at it is about the only thing that can make it get better. It aint easy. But can be VERY REWARDING on a personal level. Not about money, or someone or something else, about YOU, inside YOU, as a person of character, dignity, and humanity. All the best, revved up yooper

Thank you for caring!Actually I only need to work on cars as a hobby. I did not work with cars professionally anymore for several years and now I am retired from my last job. But I have some personal old projects that I would like to finish somehow. One was even given to me for free, hoping I would save a dissasembled vehicle with no high value. So I feel obliged saving this poor car. Not easy without the right tools and equipment. For many years I put most of my energy into my family anyway.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Thanks for putting up the process involved in making those patch panels. Judging by the number of likes and the thumbs up associated with the positive comments, looks like lots more of your audience also appreciates the level of skill that goes into your projects. Now you need to show us how you get all the "wallnuts" in your preliminary panels to smooth out so nicely.
Looks like I wouldn't agree with your friends choice of politicians but can't disagree with his choice of iron !! Politics best be left to another vsiue so we can all enjoy this one. His collection appears to be a nice display of your top notch work!! 👍👍

That car knows you love it. I know it's not your intention to make how-to vids, but I've learned so much just by watching you maul metal. I had to fab up some parts for a midi Hammond organ I'm building, and normally I avoid metalworking, but I was able to pretend I knew what I was doing enough to pull off some sheet metal work that ended up not looking like a drunk 6 year old gorilla did it. It's nowhere close to the complexity of a 60 Fury fender flare, but it was gratifying. Thanks, man!

Your friend has a very cool collection. When you fired up the Cougar, I said to myself, be still my heart. Then you uncovered The Torino 429 Cobra and I dang near passed out. I haven't seen one of these since the 80s. My buddy Jay owned one. Talk about a beast. Ran like a scalded dog. I'm a Ford guy so those two cars made my day. Would love to drive both of them. The Fury is coming along nicely.

Hey the turbo brought back memories I'm a semi young man who started workin on imports in 71 British, French, including a Citroen SM, German, Swedish and Italian. Had a shop in Washington for 35 years. And have a dog who goes with me everywhere Diesel. And have watched your videos since the beginning. I have worked on Porsches, rebuilt a 356, a speedster and many 911s. In 81 Rick brought me a Porsche he acquired a 1976 911 turbo, yellow, with documentation, first owner Farrah Fawcet. First 2 times he brought it in I didn't drive it. Third time I did. It was a rocket. But my buddies just wanted to sniff the seat. Bigger gears 4 speed. He launched the motor in Idaho. Dropped it out of a uhaul at my front door and I got to fix it, broke exhaust valve, destroyed numerous parts. I'm retired now although I still work on a couple of customers rigs. If you needed a hand sometime I'm a good wrench. I've done a lot of will it runs also. Dug a MK 9 Jag out of the bushes, got it going and drove to the shop. Say yea and I come when its warmer. Find a place I can stay and maybe I could become and honorary secret agent.

Wow! As you were looking at the old BMW cycles I was thinking about my old 1975 Honda 400 super sport that was my only vehicle for one summer. I rode it rain or shine and it was fun. As I was thinking about it your camera rolled up on the yellow 400 SS!. I was shocked to see that and it was something I'd never expected to see again in my lifetime. It was my first bike I learned how to ride. Sadly, after I got more riding experience I sold it to move up to a black 1980 Honda 650 custom which was another beautiful bike I had to have when I saw it. To bad I was young and didn't appreciate them as collectables but they provided great transportation at the time. I put a lot of miles on them as daily drivers. What an awesome collection. I remember when that Ferrari 308 came out. It was THE Ferrari back then Another great video!

Good to see Tom and Agent 900. It is incredible how detailed the panels were on these old cars with flares that taper down. Newer cars just don't have that same charm. The style of cars today seem less sophisticated and sort of contrived if that makes any sense.

Nice collection of BMW bikes over there at Mark's for sure.
The /7 R 100 CS (bowl fairing) and RT/RS (we call that fairing "garbage bin") were only 70 hp though, while as fast as (and waay more reliable than) Ducati's big desmos and Guzzi's Tonti frames (T3/G5/LeMans).
I'm rebuilding a one owner first engine 100 CS these days with 270.000 km. That guy used it as his only vehicle for 22 years and simply stopped using it when the second wife started mocking about it, until I pulled it from his shed after 14 years of no use at all.

You have a very lucky Plymouth Fury ! Your sheet metal work is amazing. Using LOG was mind blowing, " It's better than bad, it's good" I didn't know Log by Blammo had so many uses. That 69 Cougar now has a finnish finer than factory. I always wondered how that color looked when new, had a 69 Falcon Futura Wagon with 302 that color. Never could get it buffed out right, the paint was worn off of it from the original owner trying to keep it shiny. You are a brilliant paint & body dude!

I love you metal working skills and your simple basic layouts. It appears you had a great teacher or you have spent many years developing your abilities. There seems to be a great group of gear heads that visit and assist you in keeping your collection of old cars up and running as well as driving. Keep up the fantastic work.

I was dreading cutting out and trying to reform the rear window sheet metal on my 50' Studebaker truck, but i am really inspired by the work you are doing on the Fury. So what the hell I'm going for it.
